Oh Dam, reality of sewing here. Even someone with experience runs into issues. Yeah frustration leads to cutting corners LOL. There have been a few times where I'm like "I just want to finish this thing now".
I love the way you do your tutorials, if you make a mistake you try to encourage us to figure it out so we don’t make the same mistake, I thought the bag was bigger, but it came out good . I want a bigger bag🙄
I just got into bag making and was excited to see your take on the tote. Then I noticed, you were not following the rules. But then I realized that you really do stick to your DESIGN AESTHETICS. And for that I appreciate you. I am a bit of a square, so I follow patterns, but you have helped me to think outside the box and see the possibilities of design.
Absolutely love the end result. It turned out so cute. Dyeing the sherpa material is genuis. I bet it would be cool in a bright color or rich jewel tone. I really want to try this!
your My fav youtouber and i have learnt alot from.you This is so cute i wil definately try it out Thank you for sharing your talent with us Too much love from uganda ♥♥♥♥
interfacing or something on the shearling before you cut it? then there's no chance for stretching and it would help keep the structure. also pocket! or an insert for organization
I think that's dangerous having a light color bag in fall. Well, it would be for me. I know I wouldn't even make it out of the house without stopping to clean dirt off it. Making bags is a love, obsession, passion, of mine. I remember spending hours looking at bags in the stores and being so disappointed. So, I was constantly promising to make my own bags when I got a sewing machine. For me, it's all about the pockets. It puts me in a foul mood to have to dig around for anything in my bag. You can get studs to add to the bottom of your purse to keep it from being a dirt magnet. Then you get that dirt from your bag on your clothes. One time I was in love with some buttons I found and used those buttons for the bottom of my bag. Loved it and will do it again if I find the right buttons. That fabric is cute. And your logo catches the eyes. Corduroy would be more my style and easier for me to keep looking clean, but I would do a teddy bag for a gift.
🔥🔥🔥! ❤ it! The belt soooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE! wish it wasn’t Hidden! U are Awesome! You go Girl! Love your content! Thanks a million for sharing! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
About the measurements: as you do not sew at the edge of the side-squares, you need to measure 3/8" or 1/4" at least inward. All together it will be about 1 and 5/8" less when you measure it on your actual seem.
Also the small sides are 7x8 and she might have been calculating slightly off because she turned them differently than she planned. (When she places the side it looks like the sewn sides are 7+8+7 which is 22 not 23. So she did the math for using it the other direction with the long side adding height not width (8+7+8.) so that extra inch from that and the seam allowance taking 1/2 an inch would account for 2 1/2 inches of extra. I know because I’ve done the same thing 💀
As always, loving this. Sorry, but I love the way you had to do the lining. By adding the fur to the top of the lining gave the tote a richer look. Your mishaps, always seems to be the right moves. The outfit your planning on wearing to the show, is spot on. It’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 as always.❤️
I love your designer handbag!!!👜 😍😍😍 I love the color and the material. I love that you personalized it with your own designed lab. Very classy!!!👍🏾💯💖❤ You've got me wanting to make my own handbag, a tan faux suede tote with gold tone zippers.👜 I bought a skirt for the fall in that material, something that matches and goes well with other Fall outfits.
Cute like taking a teddy bear out with you. I wonder if a recycled plastic milk bottle bottom would be more washable than cardboard. Also if you start the side panels from the center bottom and stretch or ease the fabric into submission, it might fit better. Gotta run and make 1 for myself!
I could scream. I've wanted one of these fluffy bags ever since I saw a Blumarine one, but the fleece I want to use is a four way stretch and I knew it would be a nightmare to work with. I made a dress out of the stuff recently and I had to hand sew the whole thing - my machine would Not take it. No idea what I'm going to do! haha but I am so pleased you've put out this video and it will without a doubt help figure out this problem
Love your craft and what you create.. You're so skillful. **Dilemma...I bought a pair of carpenter jeans (really cheap) but they are 2 sizes too big. They're black with 3 rows of white top stitching. I love these jeans. Do you have a video on how to take up jeans that are too big? Thanks for your help.
Thank you!! 😊 The intricate stitching is going to make taking in your jeans a bit more complicated, but if I had to do it for myself I might take them in right down the front middle. Otherwise you have to take off the side pockets and take them in on the sides. Sorry, I don't have a video about that though.
Very cute bag!! I have seen that Sherpa is big this season right along with the boxy tote shape. I like that you made it small…too cute! I think I am going to try this bag with Sherpa accent on some other fabric. Kudos on the styling! You ALWAYS put the looks together so well!! Thank you! 💜💜💜
If anyone watching this video in 2023 like myself. The small error she made was not diving the side piece equally. For example the front and back is 10x23. 10-8= 2 inches off while the 23” needed to be divided by 3 (front back and side) I did this on a pattern and it all looked great. This part of the video stressed me out because I’ve been wanting this bag for forever and this is probably theeeeee best tutorial for it without feeling to techs. If this wrong I’ll leave a update or redo this message but I hope this helps!
Update: I think the best fit would 23”/3.5 since 23 inches isn’t a even measurement divide by two. She would’ve gotten 6.5” now obviously two sides will have the same length. Meaning 6.5” * 2 = 13 her middle pieces that would’ve sewn would have been 10” making it a complete 23”. If your doing this I think if your doing this maybe try doing this because it did help me and I didn’t use even numbers divisible by 2.
Wow!! No I don’t think I would be able to do this! I’m still working on the jeans! I’m in my last pair of the cargo jeans but it was nice to watch this video!
My first one turn out great !! The second one with drawing ok!! But survived it!! Jajaja Third one will se jajaj so much fun tho thanks for making us this fun videos and we learn something fun and different which we Im sure lot people here in your channel have never tried ! I want to do a fancy dress bin fringe but I have not found a good tutorial yet ! Lol thank you so much
This is so cute!!!💜And also, this is exactly how I sew....I don't even know how to use a pattern (unless it's super basic.... like an item of clothing I'm trying to copy...lol 😏🤭) Also you mentioned working on adding piping to clothes, so I'm hoping to see your take on that soon.😬🙏🏽 Can't wait to see next top upcycler!🙌🏽💜
Girrrl!!! There's absolutely nothing to u can't do!!! You need to try to make some sort of shoe now!!! You can do it, I know you can!!! Love, love love, your look!!! Those boots with that sweater and that white shirt!!!! Yasssss!!!!!!! Patiently waiting on the video to make blazer sleeves longer😊.❤️ God bless!!!
hi I found your channel i guess by accident and its so funny because I was just thinking how I could cut down on costs on my hand painted bag business. I am a painter and muralist who has started painting marc jacobs bags (Peanuts gang) themed just as a way to get exposure for my paintings and murals. And man I didnt know how popular women bags are lol. I sent you a few examples’ on Facebook , of the bags I paint Anyways my question is… can I use the same method you used to make a canvas and ouffy material bag? Or better yet’ I’d like to send you one of the bags I hand paint (I’ll do a different design) for you to rock at a show or just wear around town. I think it would be a cool idea to get people to notice the bags.
II really like your outfit. The end results of the bag was ok but did not wow me. The whole idea of it might have worked if it was bigger, maybe for me. I like the idea of dying the fleece. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
Would it be possible to make this 2-sided ? Like having the Sherpa on one side and denim on the other side. And turn it inside out whenever you feel like so. With some interfacing in between the two materials for a bit of stiffness. I don't know if the cardboard piece could still be in place but that's not necessary. And a bit bigger of course. But the size is easily fixable. The real thing is the combination of the materials. I loved the way you styled the bag, only that I would wear some tights or leggings instead of the bikers thing.
Making bags is my fave, but it's always a PAIN. I use a clear quilting ruler and a cutting mat to make sure everything is millimeter perfect. Even then, I end up having to trim them square at the end. I feel your pain!
I handsewn a deer design backpack which took me few months to make it now I am currently hand sewing a new design blue bandana backpack it will be a reversible one

Hi Nike! It's at 6pm CST on the first Monday of each month. Unfortunately I think that's midnight your time. You're welcome to join, but I know that's late. I'm going to see if I can create another class for those in the East.
If you started sewing the middle part first you would have had the same anout on each side. you possibly could have saved not cutting so much off and or your handles would still be the same side once completed.
I saw someone say to add a plastic grocery bag or paper on top so your foot doesn’t get stuck in the fur. If the problem is that it’s too thick, try adding a walking foot to your machine.
As you have to leave a bit of seam allowance so you can pivot before the end of the fabric you need to add extra for that.
I love how you say every girl needs one...we do! ❤️
Totes are awesome! 😄
Oh Dam, reality of sewing here. Even someone with experience runs into issues. Yeah frustration leads to cutting corners LOL. There have been a few times where I'm like "I just want to finish this thing now".
I seen a Chanel a huge teddy/jean material tote bag. I was like I need to tell you about this because you can deconstruct and reconstruct some jeans.
HUNNY, "HEAT N BOND" IS A SEWER'S BEST FRIEND!
Very interesting. I was surprised that you didn’t put any reinforcement between the fabric and the snaps to keep them from pulling through the fabric.
What would be used to prevent that? I'm currently having some troubles with a Project using eyelets.
I MADE A "PANDA TOTE BAG" USING SHEARLING TO GO WITH MY VEST AND INFINITY SCARF SET. TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD.
I love the way you do your tutorials, if you make a mistake you try to encourage us to figure it out so we don’t make the same mistake, I thought the bag was bigger, but it came out good . I want a bigger bag🙄
Thank you!! 😊 It's hard to share my mistakes because I'm a perfectionist, but I'm glad it helps.

Yes, I wanted it to be vibrant so bad but pale is the best it would do after hours of sitting in the dye. Maybe a different brand would work better.
your My fav youtouber and i have learnt alot from.you

Wow, I've never even thought of this.

interfacing or something on the shearling before you cut it? then there's no chance for stretching and it would help keep the structure.
also pocket! or an insert for organization
Yes, I need to get some more interfacing!
It was amazing to watch you having problems and how you worked it out... it was GREAT!
Love the idea of a furry tote bag. The process in which I make mine is so much simpler mine is really much bigger as well. . Thanks for sharing.
I was given a sewing machine over 3 yrs ago for Christmas and I have no idea how to use it. I wish I could make a bag like this, it’s soo cute
That bag. Them boots. The look. Sign me up

You needed to add your seam allowance for the pivot part. I will definitely be trying this tutorial though. Love it❗️

Great Job!!!! I love using upholstery fabrics for bags. It’s very sturdy fabric.
Yes, so true!
Hi Angelina! Your tote is gosh darn cute. I'm thinking of making one using tapestry like fabric.
That's going to be lovely! 💕

Love love love it!!! That shearling is amazing!! 👏 😍 However when you mentioned denim....that may be more suitable for me. Any tips??
Thank you! 💕 I'd use a non-stretchy denim for this. Other than that it should be pretty similar construction.
The lining is slightly smaller make sure you calculate for that and the fabric thickness can make a difference in measurement to.

If I have raw material it was most likely gifted to me like this fur. I mostly use thrifted garments as material.

Hey pretty lady... teach us how to make an obi belt... like a Loewe one... they're stunning.. but way out of budget..haaa
Do you have tips on how to sew teddy fabric? My sewing machine totally eats this fabric up 😭
I saw someone say to add a plastic grocery bag or paper on top so your foot doesn’t get stuck in the fur. If the problem is that it’s too thick, try adding a walking foot to your machine.
