Every time Steve demos this, he seems so excited to show the magnetic back plate.
I mean, those should be the industry standard, I'm usually just let it open since I'm constantly adjusting or changing strings.
Steve Vai still rocks extra hard
the message is clear...do more!
he's okay i guess....
*runs for the hills*
Still? Hes getting better, dude!
@@maximusfrank2835 totally agreed
These guitars are not only gorgeous but are perfect for the next evolution of the Jem. Love it
The grandpa of wizardry guitar. Still my favorite. NO ONE will ever surpass the originality, composing skills or being such a great guitar personality. Don’t you ever quit Steve!
Steve: NEVER!
Best tone Steve's put out since Ultra Zone.
There goes my bank account
I was hoping for a kid with Tele to show up
😂😂😂
I get the reference!
@@iganpparamarta8813 explain it plzz
@@iseeyou3352 ruclips.net/video/CqdL36VKbMQ/видео.html you should watch the movie. It’s not a good movie but if you’re into guitar you can relate som much to it. Same like Spinal Tap movie.
He's good in karate too 😂
steve, you put sustaniacs on all your guitars, just put a white one on the production models man. satch already does it
the green nd gold in the background have them
Thats true u use fernandes sustainer pickup .thatz what steve vai is
It's mesmerizing how he frets that neck.
I know people aren't going to buy this for the clean tones, but it would be nice to hear what it sounds like without tons of distortion and effects.
David Rothberg I agree but considering how amazing the jems have always sounded clean I wouldn’t worry
The JEMS sounded great in clean tone, I guarantee this will sound even more pristine with these new pickups.
My Mentor, my teacher, a great musician and composer, a great man and the best instrumental guitarist in the world. I respect this man so much. i have my self the Ibanez Jem flora 1 for many years now. For me Ibanez jem guitars are the best in the world. Love you steve you are the best. Andros Nicolaou Singer guitaris from CYPRUS.
steve vai μόνο ρε
The Ibanez "Liberace."
a steve vai guitar is always worth it more than an iphone . guitar & music lasts forever. i love you Mr.Vai!
Simply amazing.. I bought your book vai. It’s taught me so much. Thank you.
It’s going to take me years to save up for this.
But it’s worth every penny,
it’s so beautiful!
Love it or hate it, it's definitely "of" Steve
I play guitar myself. Not the caliber of satriani or vai but I heard this really awesome backing track and this is what came out of me
If he fanned the frets it would have gone beautifully with the flower theme
Fanned frets are ugly as fuck
Ian Young no
@@hellodumplings8564 Not much of an opinion.... Do you usually give feedback like you would to a dog?
would be pretty sick aesteatically... tho that would mess up the tree of life i think. and having a fanfret on a sixstring is a bit overkill in my opinion
Ian Young Who says I have to give an opinion?
Wow, it's got a magnetic tissue dispenser on the back at 2:27!
That's a pro-tip.
For all the guitar wankery.
hahahahahah
CM15 Yes that is obvious but my way was funnier
Spring ring is a bitch.
Sustainiac and true temperament frets would've been nice..
I take it the handle is for either really small hands or for using two fingers of a regular sized hand. I was hoping for a tremolo on the headstock and behind the bridge pickup for a "double whammy" experience.
I see Steve has a Switchblade for switching his pedal in the rack just below all those Synergy modules on a shelf. He's got an Eventide 9000 as well, sitting on top of the rack with the Synergy modules.
Glad Ibanez realized that Stainless Steel frets are a deal breaker to many high end guitar buyers
Momma Mia gotta love the Pia sun dew gold and colors so bold who knows what the future holds.
Thanks Steve, I was waiting to hear you play the Pia! Beautiful guitar! Great sound!
its got steel frets... steve you magnificent glorious bastard... ya did it
That is just amazing the most beautiful evolution of anything I've ever seen and it sounds amazing I think? I am so getting 2 this year
Steve love the guitars. Truly a soul from the God's. You inspire people everyday.
I have two JEMs and the only way I am getting a third is if it has a sustainer. Just like my Schecters!!
What is a sustainer ??
Love this guitar. Especially in green and yellow.
Damn, these look so good. I really want one now.
there should be a JEM or PIA model with the fernandez sustainiac included
The volume knob with the hi-pass filter is brilliant. Leave it to Steve Vai to keep innovating the weirdest and best guitar trends on the market
Adam Redfearn JS1000 had that years ago
I'm planning to get my yellow Jem VDY married to that gorgeous pink PIA!
Beautiful instrument. Wow.
Righteous Guitar
Oh god, I want one !!!
well done Mr. Vai , you're the BEST !!!!! thank you for all you're great music and for the JEM and PIA .
Steve vai -- the great --🙏🙏🙏🙏
Would love a version with lots of subtle grey shades😀
How does the removable backplate affect string change? With a Floyd Rose or Edge Tremolo, you have to clip the ball end off and clamp in via the top of the bridge.
Cool guitar though.
Carmine Anastasio thanks for finally saying it. I thought it was really totally unrelated but hey Steve...
Carmine Anastasio i thought the same
Because you always have to adjust the spring tension, and at least block the bridge during a string change and it’s a huge pita if you have a cover on. Most people just leave them off
Does it come with a rack of effects? Cause that's what we're listening to.
Ha yeah
Should do at the cost.
Me: I don't have to buy guitars this year
Steve : Oh really?
Yeah. I love it. I didn't like it at first but now I do.
No plans to discontinue the Jem, but will there ever be anymore limited edition runs?
All due respect, but as he described the careful placement of the modified monkey grip my inner ear could hear Zappa saying, "shut up 'n play yer guitar".
Beautiful guitar
Congratulations master Vai, God bless you.
Waooo what a beautiful and gorgeous guitar. Mr. Vai is great picking up these guitar models.
Beautiful guitar....🇧🇷
Always Vaital!
Beautiful. Pricey but beautiful.
I would have loved to have heard this guitar without all of the effects. It still sounds great but yeah.
So, why did the magnetic trem cover take this long to have on a guitar? Just looked at DiMarzio's site. Seems every revision Steve makes hotter pickups.
Scott C, I was thinking the same.... the magnet cover maybe ok with these particular pickups.... be interesting to see how other pick ups react to it.... ie EMG active ones🤷🏻♂️
@@martinroskilly9994 Good Point. Didn't think about that.
@@martinroskilly9994 It's probably just going to be a couple small not super strong magnets, I'd be surprised if they had any effect whatsoever.
Gorgeous looking instrument!
Very cool
i only have one question..why not soldering a treble bleed on the volume pot instead of geting a push pull pot? it would have been mmuch easier..
Very nice!
Some wicked tone.
What a great guy. It would be awesome to have a guitar company behind you. I build guitars, buy inexpensive ones chop them up to build my bastards. I'm envious Steve.
I really love this new guitar. Green one please, but wiht a pearl pick-guard, or a white one, cos the white with gold hardware is porn. Love the yin/yang design, very Steve/Vai. ZOMG, man-crush !!
Oh hi guys, Steve here. This is my signature guitar, but eh, I actually modify if when I get if from Ibanez, ya know little sustainiac here, bitta scalloping there. No you can't have this sustainiac version. Okay bye.
totally agree. I've been waiting for a sustainer version Jem for so long. Steve uses it so much, he has it installed on most of his guitars, why not release one?
the scalloped top frets are a regular feature on Steve's guitars. And you can just customize yours with a Sustainiac
@ Why should I have to customize it? Do you know what a bitch of a mod that is? You'll need route out an extra cavity to fit the controllers. That's what he has had done to the green one. Blows my mind that after 30 years of Steve Himself playing guitars sustainer mod'ed guitars we still can't buy an Ibanez JEM with a sustainer.
just buy a fucking Sustaniac, you boneheads...
Because it's expensive
Woow it looks and sounds great 👍🏻
It’s a cool axe, I would have prefered a bit more roundness like the handpainted bodies ones he used for a while, the top looks a bit like the EX series now, which is a kinda cheap series and the bottom horn seems unchanged. They probably didn’t want to go too far into AZ territory, understandbly Vai has to have his own. Colors are awesome and a cool nod to the past
The Pia is an absolutely beautiful guitar. Doctors, Lawyers and Plastic Surgeons will be rushing out to buy this.
I like it! Beautiful guitar
Price is 3.5k which is insane. You could get a JP with a beautiful top, piezo, and roasted neck for less.
I want one of a Gold one!!
I want one
Damn that panther pink color is a must have :(
Freaking awesome!
Like the Evolution pickups with less bass. 👌
A holographic headstock inlay? Niceeeeeeee.
kinda makes you wonder what Steve Vai's house looks like? You know it's gotta be gaudy.
I'm pretty sure that is his house
Been a fan of Steve Vai since I was a 10 year old kid seeing him in Crossroads. I don’t think you can improve on the original Jem, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it kind of thing. Not feeling the Pia I must say, I’ll take Evo any day. Keep on rocking Steve 🤟🏻
So what are the price range of these beautiful guitars? can you buy these guitars direct from Ibanez?
I think this guitar is named after his Wife Pia who played in Vixen.
having a digital tuner plugged in makes me sceptical for the tuning capabilities of these so expensive guitars. any owner can verify if it stays in tune?
What's that 2 extra switches, I only see those in Steve Vai guitar. Any info regarding that?
Vai owns the wammy bar
Why not just put a treble bleed on the volume knob instead of a pull pot?
Love that Steve’s taken up the Billy Sheehan look
Ok so I can get double the holes in my RG now, but is there any guarantee you won't come out with one with 3 holes later? I may wait.
Ibanez Pia for #patricksouza
They should release an IPA guitar
Ausome guitar nem Gen Pia with sustianac pickup
that fuzzy tone and noodling.... jeez, am I back in 1989 in some music store???
Haha hey TruthSurge!
@@eternalnerd_ howdy!
Why steve vai pias had different neck pickup in video when we look its pick at website the pickups look same
The green Pia already modified! Steve! No time wasted uh?
Awesome and the guitar ain’t so bad either!!!!
Wait that's me
Whats with the paint runs on that pink model? I thought I was seeing things with the white one in another video, but its on this one too?
Ive heard hes quite good,
1 awesome. I spent an hour just looking.and still. I can't believe how good instrument . better than the piano and violin togather.(of course Vai)
Is their a guitar pedal that gets that Steve via sound
Pickguard should've been changed to follow the shape of the petals
yeah... but how much is it tho?"
3ASY Beast its 3500$
Exotic Butters 💀
List price is actually $4666.65
@@sambroxguitar List price is always higher than the street price. MAP is $3,500, so it will likely sell at/close to that.
Does it come in black?
It’ll be great if he can have the in built sustainer option for us to buy. Sad..
I wonder how much dusting it takes to keep that room clean
haha i was literally thinking that today seeing his studio
