I have the green PIA. My intention was to keep it in its case for collector value but once I played it I couldn't put it down! Now my beauty has a chip in the paint by the input jack but oh well, it's like you said, they are so enjoyable to play!
I just got my PIA yesterday, powder blue. Yesterday evening I had the exact same time warp experience you mentioned. After dinner I grabbed a beer and the PIA to play for a bit. When I snapped out of my playing trance, it was nearly 2am. That has not happened in a very long time. It was such an engaging, addictively creative experience that I just could not stop playing. It's one thing when it happens to you on the off chance. It's another to hear the same thing from someone else!
I bought the Ibanez Jem in 2018 on Steve Vai's birthday. Fulfilling that dream of owning one. In 2020 the pia was born and couldn't get one at that time so in November 2022 I purchased the Stallion white pia and love it so much. Now I have what I call the sisters in white. Exquisite guitars.

I have both. Love both. But, like the new features on the PIA. That said, my JEM has that old feel that can never be replaced. Different inspiration. Just have to have both. ;)
I'm between the black PIA and a Suhr Modern. Mostly leaning towards the PIA, the pickups sound so good. I think I would add a coil split switch but I'm really digging the stainless frets.
I actually like this better then the Suhr modern. Much better access to the upper frets and more room due the the wider lower horn on the PIA. My hand always hit the lower horn on the Suhr. I’m also considering adding the coil split. There are ways around it by rolling the volume down with hi-pass filter, though. The Black PIA is sweet! I might just get that one too. ;)
@@tonlarj37 Thanks for the reply, I saw your video about the Modern mentioning the lower horn interference and noticed I don't own a guitar that would have that problem. Really enjoyed you’re listening to you, I’m of a very similar wave length to you and played the white Jem for well over 13 years, sold it and miss it. It was one of the best guitars I ever owned ( the frets were very worn when I sold it ).
