They did a great job with them! Especially since Auriel is so limited in her presence in Diablo games. I hope they resuscitate HOTS at Microsoft - its a great game
Its funny how it seems like theres more conflict and impurity between the angles and demons opposed to the humans. Yet they are obsessed with humans and sanctuary.
Hot take: Imperious sounds close to impure, he is the only with reddish wings, resembling Hell's burning fire and is super trigger happy. He is some kind of demon actually that is tasked with maintaining the eternal conflict going on and making sure nobody wins just for giggles.
He was supposed to be an antagonist in an expansion as the Archangel of Wrath as opposed to Valor. Apparently that idea was scrapped and Malthael took his place
I don't think a pure demon could masquerade in heaven. All the angels would sense it immediately. His tune wouldn't be harmonious with the crystal arch.
@@loatheburger There's a lore focused playthrough of Diablo 4 done by a streamer named BravoBecca here on YT that I found really enjoyable. She cuts out all the walking/grinding and jumps to the lore relevant moments and her own commentaries and interpretations of the plot. Something like that could be nice, and of course you would add a new dimension to it as you already know the lore and would actually be commenting on it and linking dots/explaining and adding your takes. Also, BravoBecca didn't show all the theorycrafting with equipment and skill choices in her playthrough, but I personally wouldn't have minded if she had left all that in as I love that part of Diablo as well.
I find Itherael the odd one out because other members of the council represent a virtue while his aspect is fate. One can be wise, valiant, just, hopeful and then there’s Itherael 😅
I might have missed when it was mentioned, but remember - the Evils will 'respawn' after reforming in hell. Angels do not - when they die, the angelic host reforms a new, unique Angel, but the previous one is fully lost.
Supposedly. The one exception I know of is Tyrael. When he destroyed the world stone - the resulting explosion killed him and he had to wait for his essence to reform. This was mentioned in Book of Tyrael. I don’t know if it’s a lore RetCon or not - as my initial understanding until I learned that was even if an angel with the same harmony and light is born, it wont have the same memories as the old
Auriel might be present only in one DIABLO game, but she is also a playable character in Blizzard's MOBA Heroes of the Storm, where she plays a role of a support who can heal, push enemies away, and resurrect fallen allies. Imperius and Maltael are also playable. Also, what about Hadriel? Izual? Urzael? Will you sometime cover the minor characters as well?
Also, it is VERY strongly implied in the lore that Auriel is the mother of Mephisto's children in the Sin Wars and Book of Cain. So, in fact, if true..Lilith is the first nephalem and humanity/nephalem on sanctuary were actually 3/4 angel and not half and half.
9:00 i thought Maltheal was starting to go insane from when lilith and inarius took The World Stone and he couldnt find it. Also why it was Tyreal who found Sanctuary first. That being why he didnt vote to end humanity? Unless that got retconned
Yeah his mood became to foul and he became aloof after the worldstone disappeared, and upon its destruction he disappeared Tyrael wasn’t for humanity at all until he saw Uldyssian sacrifice his life to save Sanctuary during the Sin War. At that point he chose to save it
@@loatheburgeractually he is. He just doesn’t have the designation because he was serving under Tyrael. But make no mistake he is indeed an Archangel. It’s basically a Greater Evil/ Lesser Evil situation here just amongst the Angeris Council.
Thanks for the subscription brother! I would LOVE to see an adaptation the same level of quality as Fallout or Last of Us. Completely agree there’s more than enough lore
i always find it to be stupid that Angel only have 5 while there are 7 demons. Like i know it s Diablo game but why can't they make them properly equals. 7 Angels and 7 Demons. This is just idiotic.
Technically dead. Anu was ‘the one’ and split off his evil side which formed a dragon called Tathamet. They killed each other - Anu’s spine former the high heavens/crystal arch and Tathamet’s corpse formed the burning hells - each of its 7 heads forming an evil
Why are these so good, i thought i knew all the lore at this point but there's always something to learn!
Thank you!
Appreciate the little Heroes of the Storm screens sprinkled throughout this vid

@@loatheburger I'm also breathing the hopium, deep. But for now, I'll keep kebob-ing with Imp so I can feel good :D
Malthael has the coolest sounding name out of the ArchAngels. It sounds menacing asf. Fits him perfectly as the Angel of Death.
Agreed!
Its funny how it seems like theres more conflict and impurity between the angles and demons opposed to the humans. Yet they are obsessed with humans and sanctuary.
Truth!
Keep up the good work! Love your lore videos, just make sure to not strain yourself with all those uploads!
Thank you! I’ll try not to fry myself on the journey to 1K subs 😀
U make such good vids, keep up the good work!!!
Aw shucks! thank you

He is the most pure of them all he had many chances to fail and fall but didn’t even when Malthael showed up
Your lore videos are great! Subscribed. Ever considered doing a lore focused playthrough of all Diablo games? I'd surely watch that!
Thank you! Yes I would love to do that - adding to the backlog
Question- in what format would you like to see this? Curious as I outline it

true :D
Rhykkers bit on this was hilarious
His magic 8 ball was correct enough times to earn him a promotion apparently
@@loatheburger 🤣
We need demonized inarius attacking the high heavens in a d4 expansion as soon as possible!
Would love to see that! I find it likely given how Lilith defeated him
I didn’t know there was 5 of them damn
You gotta be joking 😂😂😂
Same
5 of them? Then there is Inarious? lol 😅
Inarius wasn't part of the Angiris council, he was a lieutenant of Tyrael and an advisor to the council.
Auriel, Ithrael, Tyrael, Malthael, and then there’s Imperius.💀 (should’ve been Imperael.)
Good catch 😂
Handsome and talks about game lore? I'm sold. 😍
Aw shucks you flatter me!
Malthael was the original leader of the Angiris council; it was only when he went AWOL that Imperius ascended to the spot of leadership.
Interesting- didn’t see that in the Book of Cain. Just finished it
@@loatheburger He was also in-fact the founder of Angiris council and the very first angel to come out from the Crystal-arc
@@bongbongGAMING7878wait what? Wasn't he just the oldest of the ANGIRIS council and not the entirety of sanctuary?
@@queenbee7266 Sanctuary is not part of Heaven it's a different place. Malthael is an Angel of heaven.

Wow I just found your channel !
Welcome!
"Commenting with your thoughts" sounds like we're supposed to do it telepathically, the way the angels speak in the games 😄

It's always who are the angels but never how are the angels. 😢

By the looks of it in D4... Probably pretty bad

Fun fact: Tyreal is made of just ice.

They're all dissapointments, maybe not Tyrael.
It's what I love about diablo, no one is perfect, all the characters are broken to some degree.
I would think the angel of hope to be the strongest
There is NO WAY in HELL that none of them is undergoing a sexchange in the future.
Thicc Imperius incoming.
