I play mario kart 8 deluxe but most of my childhood played mario kart wii and mario kart 64 of course i wasn't born then when 64 came out but i did buy the Nintendo switch when it came out and buyed the premium stuff so i can play online and play games from old stuff like the game boy games and more and that happend in 2018
@@ItsMeKelp Yeah? I do. Plus, nintendo pretty much confirmed that it's mario kart 9, seeing as how the tour tracks were put into the booster course pass labeled as Tour (well, the city tracks, the other non-city tour nitros, like ninja hideaway, piranha plant cove, merry mountain, etc, even though some of them had been in tour a couple years before the dlc was announced).
I think Nintendo should avoid making direct sequels to both Mario Kart 8 and Smash Brothers. They are both the final culmination of each of those designs. Ultimate really is Wii U/3DS with the full roster of characters and stages. 8 was just 7 but with anti-grav, return of bikes and a bigger roster. And then the Deluxe repackage was just adding the full roster of characters and stages. Any direct followup will be a disappointment by virtue of lack of content alone. They should take both games in a different direction for the next game in each franchise. Maybe a sequel to Double Dash built further off the team mechanic or a Super Dash Bros or something that isn’t just 8-12 Mario characters in go-karts and bikes throwing shells for 3 laps. Same for Smash; the next one should be 3D more like power stone 2 or maybe full on pro wrestling style design. Then you can make a more faithful followup after that that will feel fresh by virtue of having plenty of time since Ultimate and Deluxe.
I agree! The only way to upgrade is to simply add more characters and stages. Title the games something appropriate for them being the last ones, and add an incredible amount of characters and stages to them.
Great video, it was really interesting and well made. I think it would have been cool to at least mention the spin off games too (Arcade GP, Tour, and Home circuit), but I do understand why you didn’t. Maybe it could be an idea for another vid :) Also, I think MK8 could be topped by a Smash Bros Ultimate type approach, like by bringing back *every* driver, course, and item from the series as well as some new ones.
I watched through the video, and I noticed way too many inconsistencies across it for my liking. Despite this, it was a nice watch. Video essays make it more bearable to draw lmao.
@@thevenom2731 I think I’ll just go for the “newest” one. I stopped getting handhelds after the first 3ds so I’m actually excited to grab one of the more recent ones
very frustrating video. when videos look back on a franchise's history with the premise that they'll learn something, it's really unpleasant when they recite the wiki for half of each game's chapter and then just complain about the game being old and not like mk8. nothing is learnt. nothing of the distinctness of each game is actually appreciated. it's just "hey this isn't so bad guys im having fun" before the "but it'd be better if" (..."if it was more modern")
@@ItsMeKelp don't be sorry, every video has its audience and yours has found it, and thats good. i'm more so disappointed in the general ways of mario kart youtube which sticks to what works, like the franchise lately. should have made that clearer, sorry
Jesus loves you!
Facts!
I still cant belive we have been playing Mario Kart 8 for 10 YEARS
That is actually insane to think about lol 😂
👴🏼
I’m too young to feel old
Bruh, got me thinking too early in the morning 😂
Mario Kart 8 DX is my favorite, although I have the most nostalgia for DS / Wii. Awesome content! Just subscribed, you've got a great channel!
Much appreciated fr! Thank you my friend
Good video. But snaking was a thing in Double Dash. I managed to beat my friend to the finish line by doing it it.
I noticed that! I never hear snaking talked about for that game but it's definitely something I could've included for sure
I played DD last week for the forst time ever and was surprised to find snaking is possible there, ussually its all about DS and snaking
Love the video, nice to see some heartfelt mariokart content, keep it up!
Much appreciated! More coming for sure!
Love this video genuinely! Smooth, informative, well edited and well paced! Keep making these I’ll watch you come up👀
I really appreciate that! Thank you my friend
Good video! In my case, mk7 is my favorite Mario Kart, so I really hope you can buy it and try it out!
Thank you! I’m definitely gonna try to get my hands on it soon!
@@ItsMeKelp You will not regret it; It is a great game. With a 3ds you could even try playing online with pretendo!
Great video. You say "however" a lot. However, I will subscribe lol
Sorry about that, however, I really appreciate it loll
@@ItsMeKelpNah I didn't mean to be mean. Keep up the good work, bro 💪🏾
@@lilgarlicbread all good ! 🤝
Well done bro nice video
Thank you my friend
you could snake in double dash and 64 too. The new drifting wasn’t added until mkwii
I did notice that while playing. Definitely something I shoulda mentioned!
You can also snake in super mario kart, except its really hard to do...
In my opinion Mario cart 8 was really good as it was one of the first ones I’ve played and I think 5-7? Good video
Thank you! And yeah Mario kart 8 is very good for sure
I love you playing Mario kart this is one of the games I wanted you to play
I’m glad to hear it thanks!

Mario Kart Home Circuit crying in the corner😂
Yeahhhh, that’s a real Mario kart game 😅😂
There are really 7 levels for mission mode for Mario kart ds level 7 is an unlockable
Appreciate your comment. I actually didn’t know that
i love mario kart wii
Mario kart Wii loves you my friend
Imagine the hassle of getting footage for the arcade versions 😭
Fr tho! 😂😂
You left out mario kart tour
People play that?? 😢

Hello there.
I've played some Mario Kart 64. Recently a little Double Dash. A very long time in Mario Kart 8... But Wii still hasn't been topped I don't think.
Mario kart 8 is incredible, but to me Wii is the most fun
Great video, it was really interesting and well made. I think it would have been cool to at least mention the spin off games too (Arcade GP, Tour, and Home circuit), but I do understand why you didn’t. Maybe it could be an idea for another vid :)

I appreciate you! They’d have to add a lotttt of characters and tracks lol
Ever heard of emulation for mk7?
I tried a few different things but I couldn't get anything to work. Regular DS was a lot easier so im not sure what I was doing wrong for mk7 on 3ds.
I watched through the video, and I noticed way too many inconsistencies across it for my liking. Despite this, it was a nice watch. Video essays make it more bearable to draw lmao.
I’m still pretty new to this, so I know my videos are gonna have lots of flaws. What inconsistencies do you mean? Appreciate any feedback!
Hey there again, I wanna stay in touch but your Discord link isn't working, do you still have a Discord my man?
I don’t really have much time right now to get a discord up and running but in due time I absolutely will get that back up!
I can’t play super Mario kart it hurt’s my eyes to bad super Mario kart as long as it’s on a small game boy advanced screen I can play it
I’d love to try it on a gba!
Have you tried playing on a new 3ds? Not the xl, because the screen is bigger.
@@thevenom2731 Is it better on the new 3ds rather than the xl? Because I definitely wanna choose the best handheld system.
@@ItsMeKelp I honestly don't know because I only have an xl. But I imagine if the screen is smaller, it won't hurt your eyes.
@@thevenom2731 I think I’ll just go for the “newest” one. I stopped getting handhelds after the first 3ds so I’m actually excited to grab one of the more recent ones
no way my boy said moo moo farm
That's literally the name of one of the courses?
It was in the series way before moo moo meadows
I actually love that track loll
You left 6 out :(
Bruhhh no way I forgot :(
Get an emulator
I tried like 3 and I couldn’t get em to work for some reason so I just said forget it lol. Others work fine for me but none of the 3ds ones did
Tour is not a spin off by Nintendo.s standards so invalid video 👎😤
My apologies 😔
