      Oh people can be insane. I'm not even a hair dresser but I have so many customer service horror stories. When I worked at Edible Arrangements we had over 900 orders to make and deliver on Valentine's Day and we were a small store, so the fact that we were able to get almost everything made and delivered in one day was insane for us. Key word there - *almost* everything. There were 6 orders that didn't get delivered, and five of those customers we contacted at the end of the day and they either got their refund or arranged a new delivery for the following day. But that sixth customer... She lost her ever loving mind on us. She was threatening to take us to court and run our business to the ground. She kept calling our store non-stop for three days straight just to scream at us some more. We all very quickly memorized her phone number and did our best to avoid answering her calls. I was unfortunate enough to get her first call and she was screaming at me and insulting me so much that it triggered a panic attack so severe that I had to leave work early.

      its not just hair. anyone who deals with the public knows these are barely exaggerated.
      I used to work for lawyers. For 'educated' people, it was almost funny how assuredly wrong they were, and willing to argue with you about it for hrs, like they thought reality was a court case they could win.
      'No sir, I'm just a worker, I cant change the prices for you no matter how long you argue with me over them. Yes sir, I can hang up on you." CLICK.

    • @Rose_Castle
      @Rose_Castle 24 дня назад +4

      I worked customer service, I know people who worked hair....can we stop pretending these stories are not fake af? Like, yeah, people can be rude, most of them in normal ways, every now and then you will get one who is unhinged amounts of rude.
      But the kind of people in some of these skits would literally make the news, because they do make the news. Some of them pretend that a wealthy brat came in, used all the makeup on display, then threw it on the ground on purpose and was screaming don't you know who my dad is. Then tipped over a display and everyone was staring.
      Yet no one called the cops because then the stylist finds out who her father is and he is a big shot lawyer and she calls him up and he is like "my precious baby would never do that" and then she sends him the CCTV and he pays her for the damages.
      Heck, even a good portion of the Karen videos that purport to be recording a real Karen breakdown are faked.
      If you think someone who consistently has "real" stories that are more dramatic than actual ER hospital admittance and mental health admittance nurses is realistic, you might want to really check over your stories and your own memory. Because having one or two crazy stories is normal. Having regular customer interactions where some woman is so unhinged that the police should be involved is not.

      living in the same area as Teresa, these scenarios are not exaggerated much. I’ve seen fist fights in the Target parking lot in the same town as Fantastic Sam’s over a parking spot. I’ve seen a customer grab a cashier by the hair because a coupon wouldn’t scan. We’re south of Chicago. We’re like the Upside Down of Chicago, less gun violence, more rural area, equal nutball behavior. I worked at a farm supply store in the area and someone cracked open multiple cans of doe piss deer attractant for hunting and sprayed them all over the back wall of the store. It reeked for weeks. We had to close for the rest of the day he’d done it. I know for sure other states have areas like this but god I can’t wait to move.

    I don't like his reply video. He doubled down on being a bit of a dick to her. If his followers are going and being nasty to others, at the level that it makes that person want to leave the platform, then he's doing something wrong on his channel. Are their actions his responsibility? No. But if you've got that many nasty followers then you're clearly doing something that makes them charged enough to go do this.
    Had he never mentioned other creators and just done his own skit them that would have been one thing, but he clearly meant to call out the people that do this, and it came off as shitty. Then doubles down and tells her to grow thicker skin. What a prick.

He is the only person my son sees for his hair, he let's me know if we need to rearrange, if it's busy etc. He is lovely and it truly makes such a difference. I work in a library- her videos are not *that* exaggerated (if at all in some instances). People have literally, im not joking, shit into books, and closed them and put them back. Is it stuff that happens every day? no! But its certainly not completely out of the realm of possibility. Im glad he explained his point of view, and I hope people leave her the hell alone.

    i don’t think it was nicholas’s fault necessarily, but i do think he should have taken accountability for the harm he unintentionally caused. the response video was kind of off putting and he was clearly very worked up about it, i think he really should have given it another go once he had calmed down a bit. saying it wasn’t “really bullying” is ridiculous- even if you could reasonably delete hundreds or even thousands of comments, reading them in the first place is hurtful. either way i hope he does take some accountability at least, she wasn’t overreacting.

  • @SmileyxKyley
    @SmileyxKyley 24 дня назад +6

    His initial video was fine imo. It’s unfortunate that it caused her to get so much hate, but I think it’s not realistic for him to foresee that happening. Where he went wrong was, once he realized she was getting a bunch of hate because of his video, he should have made a video condemning the bullying and saying he didn’t want anyone to harass any of these creators. Instead of reacting with anger, he should have cooled down and responded better.

    Nicolas is 100% at fault.
    He could have just not made it.
    He didn't recognize that he has his audience, and influence over that audience.
    It was a video with the core concept being mocking creators like that.
    Because of that mockery, people ganged up, and harassed her to the point of her LEAVING THE ENTIRE PLATFORM.

    Markie, thanks for keeping me updated on Tik Tok drama. I'm not on it and never will be.
    How this situation blew up boggles my mind! I can't wrap my head around it. 😮
    Teresa's seems genuinely nice and has stated she enjoys the changes she's made in her content. She was clearly upset about the awful DM's and not even close to being overly dramatic.
    My opinions on Nicholas's response video are a little mixed. I thought it was cool he stood up for Jessica and liked her content enough to do his own skit because he found it entertaining. He was also on-point about putting the shoe on, going outside to touch the grass. Where he missed was (IMHO) was not completely understanding how hurtful hateful DM's can really get to a person aka cyber bullying.

    I'm a hairdresser of 9 years, anyone in any service or customer facing jobs know how rude and stupid customers can be sometimes. You'd think no one is THAT crazy or stupid that it has to be an exaggeration, but people try some dumbass shit lol. Just this past week (busiest week of the year before Christmas), I've been yelled at on the phone 3 times already lol , for being fully booked up, for not being open christmas day, AND for not being able to stay late for someone because I was already staying late for another client. No patience for it anymore, I truly think we need to match their energy for them to realize how fucking dumb they sound.

    Her skits are the reason I know so much about hair care and realistic hair goals, my hair dresser loves the fact I've tried to learn so much and know the limits of care and color changes. I think his response was beyond insensitive, he took ZERO accountability. Clearly people took his video as a go ahead to harass her and that does fall back on him, unintentional or not.

      @prosquatter 23 дня назад

      There are some videos where the creator acts annoyed at reasonable customer requests and I guess people are becoming annoyed by them. But honestly, never saw one of those that involved hairdressers. It's mostly servers that make these "Karen videos" and the "Karen" is just someone asking for a to go bag.

And he can hopefully learn from it that tiktok is full of hateful kids desperate for a reason to hate on people 😂😂😂😂
