You've clearly forgotten all the carthus crap, dark sword, and how poise was nonexistent, type of armor didn't matter-only that you had some equipped at all. Don't get me wrong though; this bullshit helmet swapping is a close second.
How ludicrous was it that the mobs on horseback couldn’t catch this guy with heavy equipment load lol If there was a runebear then that would have been a different story, would have ran down and chewed his ass out in seconds
I heard about this glitch like 3 weeks after the launch and with how most players jump at any opportunity to increase their odds of 'winning' I'm honestly surprised it's not a common practice yet. I'm also surprised they didn't patch it yet. This game is so rough. On the patching of helmet swap glitch- wouldn't making it's effect like soreseal/scarseal's (increasing damage taken instead of taking small amount of hp) fix it?
I think just removing the glitch would suffice. The same way a real nerf of BHS and a nerf or RoB would be good. Things that are (literally in this case) broken don't need to stay in the game because someone has fun doing them.
The only counter I see is dual eclipse weapon that applies death. Even then this glitch is so toxic. First step should literally be avoided for invasion.
If you stop to cast the death blight buff he's gonna be a mile away when it's done. If you catch up to him while it's active it only lasts so long too.
Scott Jund is one of the best players mechanically, as well as one of the most knowledgeable. He's absolutely wrong about night shard, but he's still really knowledgeable and really skilled.
You ain't never invaded lurnia. Those lobsters delete people cross map with no hesitation. I've seen full 3 man ganks eat shit to constant laster spam from lobsters.
Can confirm this human trash is still roaming meta level invasions. Found him with great rune, dual spears, and bloodhound step earlier. Killed him before he could start helmet swapping.
dude this felt like an adventure with all sorts of twists and turns, I was routing for you to beat him the whole time and had to see it happen. definitely subbing great content!
I feel like a tool. The last day I played before deleting my saves I named my character "ADMIT IT, ITS OP" and just ran pure bleed bullshit at first step for like 4 hours. Scott invaded me on his incantation character and I have just enough poise to tank a single rock sling, so I just spammed running attacks with my godskin peeler like a goon. ;_; My first interaction with him and that's what he had to deal with. I'm sorry, Scott! I was hollow and wanted to bully the RoB legion. If it makes you feel better I deleted 600+ hours of progress pretty soon after. So sick of the state of the pvp in ER, maybe I'll come back someday. Not sure.
@oohanalligator the thing is we know it is going to get patched but it is so damn slow. We could be dealing with this for at least another 2 weeks. They will make a hotfix to revert Radahn's power back to how it was but they can't fix a game breaking glitch that is fucking PvP rn.
I keep telling myself because most of these are new players, the majority of them won't stick around too long. Hopefully most of them will be gone within 6 months.
This shit happens in pretty much every multiplayer game. The bad players will always find some cheesy way to play because they have no real skill. Nowadays with the internet it's just super easy for bad players to look up busted ways of playing in order to try and win. All these people care about is winning no matter what. These are the same types of players on call of duty and shit that will camp all game to get 5 kills and they're fine with that as long as they win the game even though they're horrible
I fought this same dude (or another bull goat helmet swapper bloodhound stepper) on the Frozen Lake. Kept chunking him hard and then had to chase him for about twenty five minutes (he used all 10 of his starlight shards so he could keep bloodhound stepping) until I finally killed him, which took all of my sanity to be patient enough to do so
The issue is they’re not aggressing, they’re constantly backpedaling or just running away - can’t really waste someone’s time if they’re just trying to waste it themselves

Just wanted to say that it's truly impressive when watching your video clips. I barely do any PVP and mainly focus on PVE but I really enjoy how well you understand this game and seemingly know how to combat basically any situation. Well done sir.
When I started playing I also was a bhs abuser due to ER being my first souls game and I lacked skills to keep up with other players but watching your videos made me realize it's wrong and it doesn't help me learn actual pvp skills so I learned my lesson and dropped it completely and started getting actual pvp skills which is way more fun than spamming meta stuff or bhs.
It’s insane how bad & in denial a lot of you are in these comments, I’m glad I can see there are reasonable people as well though. Can’t believe I’m seeing people compare hardswapping & “running away” when at low HP to the helm swap exploit LOL Poor Jee I wouldn’t be able to stand reading my own comment section if I were him..
My man's, there's a comment thread up near the top, think it has 17 or so, where a bunch of people are saying that hard swapping/menu swapping shouldn't be an option... Like W-what? I don't want to sound like an elitist, because I am by no means one, but even on PS4 (which I've been on since it first came out) it's really not hard to menuswap, least of all if you spend a bit to practice & set up your inv. Some people are well and truly maidenless.
The hosts in this game are the scummiest of the scummy. At least I know From is working to fix all these things (though I doubt they'll ever be able to truly fix BHS) but still, at least for now PvP is an absolute mess and I've been avoiding it as much as possible.
@@vallenthedragon8411 That’s exactly what I’m saying, I don’t understand how people claim that swapping is too easy & shouldn’t be a thing. Then just learn? Imo it’s not even game breaking, by far. But it doesn't matter what I think, I got Fighting games for that anyway.
@@Ram2rol Because it messes with the flow of combat. You got 2-3 people on your ass in an invasion standing still for any amount of time is a death sentence. A good way to combat such a situation is running away. Swapping to a weapon mid-movement that has black flame tornado or stormhawk axe. Immediately starting it up so they run right into it which leads into death for them or heavy damage. That’s just one example why it’s integral.
@@Ram2rol A terrible idea BECAUSE you know it will affect everything. Not just PvP. Or simply... It would be a downgrade since Demon's Souls for Menu Swapping to cease existing. @@ebonslayer3321 I mean, a lot of them probably wouldn't have if they'd had any opportunity to learn how to PvP. But instead they started the game getting invaded by jackasses carrying over skill from previous Souls games and being thrown equipment by everyone and their mother to make sure their "meta" PvP character is ready to go. And yes, I include myself in that. I'm guilty as well. What we did was create an environment where the new guys had no chance to learn to PvP because they were too busy getting absolutely destroyed left, right, and center by people that had no business fighting them in the first place. We should've stuck to our own, but instead it turned into a game of let's murder the newbie. The same happens in every Souls game, I grant, but it's been *way* worse with Elden Ring for some reason. ...Then you've got the asshats that exploit for the sake of exploiting and/or just AFK farm. That one is nobody's fault (except the people doing it). Just trash tier people being trash tier.
I feel this would be an easy fix if they just locked in whatever equipment you're using during an invasion, Now your build and choice of equipment matters. No more stash dancing and carrying in the games entire armory for your convenience.
Yep, that would solve the problem 100%. Think about it not as a souls game thing but just a gameplay design element in general. That is super overpowered to be able to swap to any of the hundreds of pieces of gear you have acquired at any given moment during PvP. That IS fucking bullshit period.
@@Felix-hv1li This would fix the helm issue as well as any other similar issues they may not even be known yet, and would give weight a purpose again. You shouldn't be allowed to have 30 weapons, heavy armor, and still be allowed mid rolls. With BHS they just need to increase the cost consecutively with each use if used within a 3-5 second window each time.
Back in DS3... The only real shield was the dual Door one. The wrest, you could just kick shields open. In fact... At sl351+, shields are not needed. Dodging was everything since taking chip damage or losing stamina was to be avoided for endurance PvP in a world.
I'm kind of amazed there's a macro that can actually helmet swap regen and faprun at the same time. What kind of human waste would do something like that.
Just another reason I hate invading in the open world areas. If they aren’t AFK exploiting, they’re running away forever. That said, haven’t come across someone this degenerate yet. Behold! The ultimate maidenless host!
Even playing as a hunter is broken. If you’re lucky and the host isn’t afk, the game will spawn you 5 miles from the host and unlike the invader you don’t have a teleport option. Have fun running through 100 mobs so you get to the host just in time to see him die.
I personally found sticking to legacy dungeons, graves and cave seem the most fun and very beginner friendly for newbie invaders like me. I personally love the hero's grave spots because the chariot makes it more fun. It can kill everyone so it's a unique obstacle that can be used by anyone. I don't care if it upsets people because they probably weren't thinking how I felt being 1v3 ganked in an open area spamming spells and L2. If y'all got a good invading spot for level 100 let me know 🙂
@@BloodRedReality I use to play as a hunter. I understand the pain. I also couldn't stand how a host would lose in a 1v2 and die before I even get to the scene.

I guess I’ve gotten lucky so far, I don’t really run into this. I’ve seen tons of moonveil and RoB’s but I’m alright with that, if I did run into these exploits I’d just return to my world and invade a different host.
I don't pvp in these games cause it's obvious the pvp stuff was never their priority and it shows. Every pvp experience has been mediocre at best. Bloodborne pvp was the most fun though and I throughly enjoyed fighting other players in that game. Whenever I have invaded in Elden Ring, lag was prominent and and I kept getting connection errors. I haven't bothered since. Honestly ER should have been a single player game. Things keep getting busted when they fix things for pvp.
@@Hi-Hi1990 I'd argue in DS2 that PVP was the priority, moreso than even PVE. So many mechanics and balance decisions are obviously PVP focused, and it makes that part of the game incredible. Otherwise I'd agree, even (or especially, blood gems fucking suck for PVP) for BB, that the focus was PVE.
Invasions can be fun and whacky, but it's a coin toss. I've had incredibly fun invasions where I used Jar Cannon to knock hosts off, made friends with hosts and phantoms and even invasions where I had a simple, fun fight. However, I also had numerous run ins with exploiters and garbage hosts being carried by their overleved phantoms. Win or lose, it's no fun to fight against two overtuned phantoms, exploiters or players who abuse broken AoW. ER has the potential to be insanely fun thanks to the wide scope of the sandbox. So many build possibilities, yet people seem to only use what's considered OP. Invaders have become considerably stupider too. So many idiots running twink builds in Stormveil and Raya Lucaria, thinking they're good by spamming Rot breath. All they're doing to beating up noobs who can't punish the massive windup.

This shit happens in pretty much every multiplayer game. The bad players will always find some cheesy way to play because they have no real skill. Nowadays with the internet it's just super easy for bad players to look up busted ways of playing in order to try and win. All these people care about is winning no matter what. Yep, that would solve the problem 100%. Think about it not as a souls game thing but just a gameplay design element in general. That is super overpowered to be able to swap to any of the hundreds of pieces of gear you have acquired at any given moment during PvP. That IS fucking bullshit period.

@@waynecarrjr.1187 id say its either some deep voiced wannabe chad with a superiority issue, or a snotty sounding weasel. Think quagmire but without any charm.
@@Peachy232 I can see it lol
Unironically, "You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like."
That dude is optimal as hell. Ya love to see it.
Why not use the Eclipse Shotel to deal with the helmet swap glitchers? That way they definitely die no matter how much hp they have.
I think it would be hard to catch up to someone who just runs away.
It won't do much good against people that flee constantly, but boy is it ever effective against people running actual HP hacks.
Dude almost ran the entire Limgrave , absolute madman.
someone invaded me with dual vyke spears and when I finally drained all his estus he helmet swapped. I proceeded to lead him around the map before killing him 20 minutes later. Imagine being such a loser you chase someone around their world for 20 minutes just to die
That's sad. Losing shouldn't be a shame, but some people just can't bear the thought of getting that t-bag as the character model goes down. Just give it a good fight and if you lose you lose. Idk how that's so foreign to people
@@LizardOnAMushroom2358 Easy. Because they don't want to give them the satisfaction so everything is done to avoid that.
Hey what was that Tears of Denial-looking buff you had on your character at the start of the video?
It can be hard to enjoy the game when a lot of unfair and broken stuff still exists. I just uploaded some thoughts about this to get it out of my system, including thoughts on the PvE experience.
I ran into someone who did this while invading except he never attacked unless it was with the jar cannon, and the moment you get close he bloodhound stepped away I counted as well 20 BHS minimum before crouching with concealing veil and hiding
I ran into that guy as well he litterally ran an hid for 12 mins just waiting for an opening i even ran to where you get the extended range talisman to force him into close quarters but my 2 hunters were making it difficult to bait him in but it ended with him jumping off a cliff an me following thinking we would survive but hes blocked now i could have fought 12 invaders within the time i wasted on his trash built
10:25 Jesus, This makes me so sad, look how they butchered our boy, I know that backstab on Ds3 wasn't perfect and it certainly could have been tweaked, but if it's going to continue like this it would be better to take it out of the game and let us punish with an R1
At least he bowed and let you fight the hunters, so you know he's an honorable guy!
Actually thought ER would have the best pvp, i was so wrong
Hopefully after patches but that’s a bit of copium
you definetly didnt play any of the other souls games on launch pvp wise...
@@CrzyLion Yeah. DS2 on launch was arguably even more broken than ER. At least in this game only a few weapons and exploits can instant kill, so many things in 2 were a guaranteed stunlock.
duels at raya are amazing, most of the time people running very interesting builds, invading is in very poor state rn so I dont bother with it much, but duels man, oh cant get enough of these
@BadlandsChugs_20 cannot agree more dude
Scott Jund x JeeNiNe ultimate tag-team
so sad to see a great game in such a pathetic state. I hope FS comes around to fix the crazy ammount of shit that is breaking the game
There is no fix for such a garbage playerbase. Hosts like this are fucked in the head and elden ring just enables that kind of person.
Not gunnu lie, boys, seems hypocritical to shit on bhs while spamming thunderbolt.
Introspection required ahead.
I guess we know now what was the meaning behind this quote
“I doubt you could even imagine it”
The pvp obv lol
Someone insert benny hill theme
The only time the PVP in this series was genuinely good was back in Dark Souls 2, honestly
A lot of people hate ds2, but soul memory and adaptability... Those were the only 2 flaws of ds2 pvp wise, but Oh boy what huge flaws they were... I also loved ds2 and consider it the best pvp wise
DS2 wasn't even this bad.
Exploits so strong even the best of invaders take 30 minutes to kill em
Helm swap macros + rivers of blood + bloodhound step + fullgoat + fingerprint = skill
Fullgoat has nothing OP. It requires a lot of stanmina and despite that, there are several swords, spear and heavy hammer that make it shit, it is not even necessary to mention magic for this type of armor to be more than useless besides that many types of sword can make flanking to this type of armor. On everything else you said, I agree with you.
But you can counter it. -user of all those things
Shield charge works really well on these guys. I'm actually trying to find a way to put frost on 1 so I can slow them.
Seek out the Frost Affinity (Knife) for your Shields but make sure to only use Physical Based AoWs.
@@absolstoryoffiction6615 I got my ice/bleed shield. It's a menace to rob spams. Beats them outright, knocks them down and damn near guarantees a proc for both with a followup hit.
14:48 how did he use his sorcery like that, I've never seen that
I think you face away from the target but keep locked on, but I'm not sure
You face away from the target, begin casting. Then lock on, for some ridiculous reason it has better tracking this way and moves way faster
@@host_0163 that’s correct. Lorretta’s Mastery has weirdly good tracking when not aimed directly at someone and can slip behind guards.
this was as painful to watch as it was for you to experience.... my muscles were tense in frustration
I completely understand U.
The only thing this host tries hard at is running away😑
To be fair, in my opinion the best thing is to just spread awareness about this type of people and block them. If they will not have anyone to fight their entire life will be pointless…
They tend to create alt accounts for this exact reason, they end up being unable to play with anyone cuz everyone blocks them.
