Just the video I needed. I have yellow spots on my cucumber leaves and thought they needed to be pruned and cut the leaves off but now I see more spots on the leaves. I now know I need Neem oil that I have already for my tomato plants. Thank you so much. Should I spray every night? I'm in Zone 8.
Thanks for the comment. Spray twice a week for now. Remember once you mix your Neem it's only good far about 24 hours then you need to make a new batch.
New to your channel. Greetings from Delaware. Thank you so much for thoroughly explaining the different causes & giving the solution to each of them. This is my first time growing cucumbers. I only did one plant because I don't eat them. Just growing for a family member & friend & don't know what I'm doing. I'm still a novice at gardening. I'm starting to see yellowing & will do what you recommended.
It works well with Broccoli and Cauliflower. Spray in the morning to avoid burning the tender leaves. Make sure you use a Neem oil that is not an extract. It needs to have the active ingredient Azadirachtin. Most garden centers carry it. I use the concentrate and mix it myself.
Thanks so much for this! I just found your channel, please keep going! Great information. Are you in Florida? You are the first RUclipsr I've watched who has addressed the dreaded pickle worm (my nemesis!) I am new to FL (1 year) and new to pickle worms. This spring I tried growing a Suyo cucumber (parthenocarpic) variety inside my screened lanai. It did ok, I did find the dreaded moth once however. How it got there, I don't know! I am trying to be diligent with the BT, it seems to be the only solution. Most of my crops aren't producing during the hot summer. Would you do a video explaining how you built your raised beds? They are amazing!
Thumbs up! My issue is the cucumber beetle. They done ate all my leaves. And I hear that they mate like crazy and leave their eggs in the soil next to the stem.
Thanks for watching. Next season try delay planting by 2-3 weeks to avoid their peak feeding time. That's usually when the air temps hit 50 degrees or more. Try using varieties like "little leaf" and burpless. Small pieces of tin foil at the base of the seedling deter them feeding at the base. Also yellow sticky traps made with yellow solo cups and tanglefoot spray attracts the mature beetles. Hop-e this helps.
Thank u for a information but mine is whole plant of cucumber is turning yellow in in UK nd its too hot now so we need to water every day plz let me know
Hey! Use epsom salt it has what the plant needs. Common salt is the wrong chemical and can harm the plant. Use 15ml per 2 liters of water for your application. Check a couple of other things as well. 1- they require a good 6 hours of sun or more. 2- they also require 3-5 cm of rain/water a week. Too much or too little can cause the yellowing also. Let me know how it goes.

Cucumbers become bitter when the plant goes under some form of stress. Usually water or excessive heat. A chemical called Cucurbitacin that is in the plant leaves leaches into the cuke. There is not much you can do to remove it once the fruit has formed. Peel it down as much as you can.

Neem applied in a foliar spray will dissipate in approximately 45 minutes. It has a slight chance of toxicity to bees if it is ingested during that time. If you want to limit the chances even more spray early morning or evening when they are not out. Thanks for the reminder. I'll put it out on some of my next videos.
