see, I dunno. Elizium was always better live, I found the album to be a mushy messy swooshy mess (yeah, I know it was mixed to be all morphy and shoegazey and stuff, but...). I was a massive fan of the Neph from the first single until Elizium, i found it completely underwhelming. I wish they'd remix it (like, not just remaster it, but dig out the original tapes and produce/mix the whole thing differently). Like with George Harrison's album, where they recently fresh-mixed it to remove all the Phil Spector stuff. Give the tapes to Flood or someone and get him to produce it from scratch. Like I said, it isn't a problem with the band, or the songs (they are fantastic live). Just... don't like the recorded album.
@@AlIguana To me the way Elizium was mixed made sense with the songs. Wright/Yates ( as main songwriters ) obviously infused a "Pink Floyd" vibe into the songs ( Sumerland/And There Will Your Heart Be Also..) so all the keyboard parts were more important and sounded bigger. And ( of course ) the guitar parts a bit "buried" in the mix. That's why, to me, Elizium is a prog-ish album.
@Celestial Aeon Project celtic music & epic music, yeh, see to me, your first comment made the most sense. I remember celebrating my 22nd birthday that night in 1990, the Oldenburg gig. I just stood there in awe, breathing the music. Oh yes, these were the days.
What a power house that original line up was. Although the recent London gig was incredible. certainly one of the best British bands of the last few decades,
