thank you for this video as it is super helpful to me as a beginner photographer. I recently 2017, bought a used Canon 5d Mark ii and a used prime 100mm lens L series and I absolutely love the camera and lens for macro shots and portraits.
Which ever you like really, no such thing as best for sports. All it changes it eh baked in colour and contrast for JPEG images. If you are shooting RAW you will decide all that later. My DSLR's live on Standard Picture Profile with the very occasional shift to Black & White if I am away from a computer and want to see an image in B&W as a test. With shooting RAW it does not matter as I will colour grade and edit them later.
Hi Andy , The reasons a photo would be grainy or contain image noise are. 1. high iso. the 5D Mark II is good upto 1600 and usable upto 3200 but higher it falls apart. 2. Shooting underexposed and bringing shadows and exposure up in post. 3. shooting at a higher iso 400 up and bringing shadows and exposure up in post. The sensor on the 5DII is good at holding highlights but does not like shadow pulls that much. It is best at lower iso 100-200. 160 giving the cleanest result if you are going to push a file. That said we can't always shoot a low ISO. Hope this helps. Rick
@@flurrygrierson Yay :). lol. I get comments to this day about it and other comments on 7 year+ old videos. Not going to change them now am I. What can you do.

Hi, thank you for the video. how do you set this camera to do 2 stops apart? I'm trying to take 3 photos with 2 stops apart.
You would do that with bracketing can be done in camera automatically or just do it manually.
2nd camera tab in menu and select Expo Comp / AEB.
it was so helpfull about 5d mark ii that more advanced shooting method you have explained / thamk u
Thank you so much
