Hi James, it's dough-say. I am a Sri Lankan born Australian. Thank God, we don't have to line up for our dosas. Many thanks for highlighting ethnic food !
I visted New York this summer for few days only to visit family and do sightseeing. On my last day I made the biggest mistake of going to get a dosa from this man. At first I was told that I was the last person. Then they kept letting more people in. I wasted 5 hours, I repeat 5 hours! to get 1 low quality dosa! 5 hours for 1 dry dosa! He catered more and spent time talking to the last group of 10 people than to me who really was to be the last person. I found him to be unpleasant and the dosa was terrible - no sambar or chutney or tea. All gone. What makes me mad is my own stupidity that the 5 hours I wasted standing in line in the sun for the terrible food - I couldn't spend doing something fun! Also if you are from a city like Toronto like I am - do yourself a favour and buy dosas from the 100 restaurants that sell them than wasting your time here. You'll thank me for this tip. Every time I think about this experience, it actually upsets me. Don't go here!
you dip the dosa in the sambar, same as the coconut chutney or pour it over the dosa. yes, it gets messy but also yummier. traditionally, sambar is not "soup", but to each his own, bon appetite. Thiru's veggie drumsticks are awesome. He was serving fake meat before it was a thing, but he doesn't coat his wings in sauces, so his "drumsticks" are not trying to be faux meat per se. Also, he once schlepped upstate to serve fresh dosas at my sister's housewarming, MIA from Washington Square for the day, pretty cool.
To whoever is reading this : May God bless you ! You’re gunna do great in life ! Put God first and everything will fall into place ! Wishing nothing but love , joy , peace, prosperity, faith, hope, etc. Have a blessed day ! God loves you so much!!!!

@@richdollarleads Thank you!
that`s a pretty long line, Andrew. Greetings from Europe and have an amazing summer:)
Thank you! Yeah, the line is long, but it's worth the wait!
Thank you for the video James, Dosae is really everyone's fav. Have it and eat it ANY way you like.
Thank you!
Congrats on 17K subscribers, James! Just going back to view earlier videos, and saw this with almost 1 million views! It was brilliant to stir up this dosa eating controversy. I bet you knew the proper eating method all along!
Thank you! Haha! Yeah, anything to get people talking gets the views!
nice vlog and dosa look amazing . 1 correction sambhar is drink after bite of dosa or you can dip into it and take bite.
Thank you! I'll try that next time with the sambhar!
9$ masala dosa 😮
9$ indian Rs. 740 😂
It’s in nyc
The samosha cost 250 INR 😅
Then u should try American food in india and find out the price
@@OmnivoreGuy220 It's PPP. What do you think a burger cost in India 😂
Even as North Indian I got hurt the way he handles the dosa 😅
Feels so weird yet satisfying seeing a long queue for a street stall
He's extremely popular!
You will have to come quite often at this place , on and on in the future !!❤
I definitely want to visit again.
My favorite is Pesarattu or Pesara dosa - that is from Andhra in South India - it is the best Dosa. Sadly it is not as popular than the others that most establishments have
I would like to try that dosa sometime.
Pesarattu goes very well with upma.
@@Aratiii06 Thanks for the recommendation!
You made me want to go out and eat dosa😂 m from India and i love South Indian food . South Indian food is all vegan and is suitable for all people who eat gluten or not .
Nice! South Indian food is great!
He’s eating it like a burrito 😭😭
It still tasted good!
An Idly, or Dosa with sambar and 5 or more different chutney with medhu vada in a good hotel is a heaven as a Vegan. I couldn't live without these Idly, Dosa and poori. My day won't finish without eating this as a South Indian.
Nice! That's great food!
In India all of that food is under $1. Hope prices get cheaper in NYC.
Yeah, NYC is pretty expensive.
How to Eat South Indian Dosa:- you should not Bite it instead you should take a Piece of Dosa and Dip it to the Sambar and Coconut Chutney then Put the Dosa to your Mouth..it's the Combination of Dosa Chutney and Sambar...👍😁😄
Absolutely! Thank you for the tip!
Omg how informative 😂🤣
Thank you!
Hi James, it's dough-say. I am a Sri Lankan born Australian. Thank God, we don't have to line up for our dosas. Many thanks for highlighting ethnic food !
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
You should do more indian food reviews.
I'll try to do some more in the future.
10$ for a dosa??that’s insane..we get it for under a dollar in India!
NYC can be pretty costly.
for that price you can get 10-15 dosas here in India
Dude hasn't read basic Economics lessons. He can't adjust inflation and value of currency, PPP etc
Other reason to be in NYC ❤️
Absolutely! It's a must visit!
That was a real beautiful day. Awesome place to have a Dosa.
Indeed! Eating outside was perfect!
you dip the dosa in the sambar, same as the coconut chutney or pour it over the dosa. yes, it gets messy but also yummier. traditionally, sambar is not "soup", but to each his own, bon appetite.
Nice! Yeah, I'll have to try one of the drumsticks next time.
There is not a particular way to eat dosa, eat it as you like to have it 🤘
Exactly! It was delicious!
Our indian food is always great 🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌👌👌
It's amazing!

Seeing him eat the dosa made me want to eat one too😅. Fun fact dosa is made from fermented rice-lentil bater and so is good for the gut too. Its the only fast food that is healthy that I know of
It was delicious!
Eat the way you want to or you are comfortable with brother
Ignore the hate and criticism from southern part of India.....they just get offended by everything...ignore them and please try Gazab or Gymkhana IN NYC too
The way you ate the dosa was so cute. Keep up the good work!!
Haha! Thanks!
In India you can eat best of the best dosas at around 1 usd.... Max for 2 usd.
It was a pleasant video to watch, keep up the good stuff 🎉
Thank you so much!
Bro, for correct demo, just visit any of the South Indian cities. You can feel the spices and texture when dipped in. Its amazing. You do get N- no of varieties in Dosa itself.
Great video bro .
Keep doing .
Explanation and everything is great .
Keep going 💪
