I stoped playing halo for years then came back and got amazing
1:20 gotta love some compooter
nice sound effect 4:32
holy shit i just checked waypoint and 343i added like 15 new gamemodes and a bunch of maps HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!
All your vids about how to use weapons probably really helps me as I used to be really bad but now I'm getting a lot better
that help me thanks😉😉😉😉😉
I found it's really easy to get 'lazy' in halo because of things like the energy shield. But whenever I've played a lot of BF4 (back in the day) where you don't have that and it's all about who see who first, who gets shots on first and accuracy (the hit boxes in BF4 do massively different amounts of damage) my halo play massively improved. I was always aiming for the head and picking my shots & keeping my head on a swivel.
A technique that helped improve my accuracy with semi auto weapons in all games is to only pull the trigger when you're absolutely sure that you're going to hit the target (or make the best guess you can).
There are exceptions of course, but this applies most to getting headshots consistently as well as sniping.
This is the mentality of a sniper, but it can be applied to all gunplay.
It requires greater discipline and patience, but keeps you calm, focused, and lethal.
That strategy also helped me step up my SW battlefront II game play
There’s a good saying we have “Fundamentals win fights”
Thank you so much that helped
Greetings from Brazil . I was thinking the same. Always aim for the Head.
I like it Luke, I will definitely implement it as well. I am constantly looking for ways to keep up, since I am super busy as well.
I have that flicking problem too but I tried the thing you said and it helped :)
Hay Luke I love your videos especially your halo ones and I just wanted to say that your tips from this bodes improved my game so much instantly thanks for the tips!
Thank you for telling me how to get better at halo.
Holy Shat this helped me a lot!
I agree with this I think i was doing this as well.
Ahhh yes I’ve been practicing this and it does work. It’s like a light bulb just went off in my head ha...I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t maintain my shots. I had a flicking problem ha...Thanks Luke!
Luke I just wanted to say I used to play a lot, a lot. But recently I kinda started coaching a friend playing and he's hit onyx 1700 ish, and it's mainly because I can explain an idea to him that I can't necessarily do but he can, recently slot of the advice and "coaching" I have done has been based off your videos and advice. I've even started showing him some of the more important ones like this or the naded spartan school and just wanted to say thanks your advice and videos help us both a lot. I have even mention the flicking since he tried to drag scope and he never really put in perspective until this video then turned around and went 11/1 with 100% accuracy in a swat match. Thanks again Luke.
THE BEST INSPIRATION
Love the videos bro keep up the good work
This actually helped! I haven't played Halo in a year and was playing Call of Duty and Fortnite with friends occasionally and playing other games that aren't FPS games. When I went back to Halo I had my accuracy at high 30s, low 40s and I would keep dying by people who are level 60 and level 100 but I watched this video and some days I destroy the games that I play but other days I don't do so well and I get frustrated because I was doing so well last game why not now but I take a break for about 10-20 minutes and just try to visualise aiming for the head and come back and I'm destroying games again.
Above all the thing that helps my shot the most is in your strafe video. The quick strafe thing. I probably got about 4x the amount of perfects than I would have gotten without using the tips in that video. I've never seen such a difference in my Halo gameplay ever! I'm not exaggerating.
Thx, this video was helpful cuz I get rusty sometimes.
I will try that in Halo 3 now ! :D thanks man !
recently came to the same conclusion as well and almost immediately saw improvement with my shot. Not only keeping away from flicking but also keeping the actual movement of the sticks to a minimum and hitting the body shots before working to the head. great vid man!
I naturally work my shots up towards the head(no flicking the reticule) with the BR. But I can't seem to do that as well with the Magnum, which I've actually been practicing with a lot lately.
I just went to swat and played that a bunch then I done what u said and i got even better
OMG! Aim for the head! Why didn’t I think of that?
I like how Spartan Locke is the scrawny one and master chief is huge
This worked for me. Giving myself a target like the head to constantly work towards has helped tremendously. Playing halo reach on MCC on PC at the time of this comment. I'm not number 1 in every lobby yet, but combining this with remembering to not probe for kills has gotten me more kills per game. I've done better even tho I'm still bad at the game.
throwing a nade at the start of a gunfight.... lol love the videos Man!
Awesome vid bro this actually helped lol
i used to do that in halo 4
At 1:54 a 10 meter heated direct encounter using a Magnum naturally has lower accuracy vs the subsequent ~30 m calm indirect encounters, where semi-automatics are easy to aim and accuracy increases.
Dang, I knew the title seemed too good!
Nerd😂
I played a SHIT TON of swat. it got me use to shooting for the head and which translated to better Slayer shoot-outs.
Skitnit2 i agree, swat is frustrating as hell for people not used to it but i think it definitely helps by, in a way, forcing you to become better at getting and aiming for those headshots which translates to the other playlist for sure
You are not over analyzing. Your just standing out from everyone else.
That's what I used to do on halo ce on pc. Now I just need to practice
Connection determines accuracy
halo noob here, but i've been working my way up from gold and into diamond over the past week or so of casual solo play. I started playing again after about a year and a half break. I was on PC and played overwatch mostly, so when I came back to Halo I SUUUUUUUCKED. I was losing every single gun fight EVER. So I lowered my sens a little and tried to train my thumbs. What I didn't realize tho was I needed to increase my sens really high, get a very sensitive thumb motion, then lower it to an ideal spot. This has given my thumb SO much precision that I can now land 3-4 perfect kills in a game compared to maybe 1 or none.
I have been playing since I was 2 (Halo 2) and I have always been more of a CoD fan, but the first time in 3 years I played Halo again and I'm a Platinum 3 in HCS.
Good luck in ur finals Luke
it works!
Simple explanatory
IT WORKS!!! THE LIKE BUTTON AND THE TIP
I already do this.
why your ame so good
I hope in halo 6 they make the amor look more like the classic ones with the black body suit and gloves and a soldier asks why they went back and then a commander says a grunt hacked the manufacturing system
Ive improved from low golden to diamond by simply playing with my friends (halo 5 semi pros) and listening to their tips, callouts, learning spawns and all that jazz, my accuracy is all right, around 40% at the begining of the night because I play other games but but the end of the night im all the way up to 70-80% after being warmed up
just strafe with ur shots.
its always been a halo thing lol
I approve of this channel
Just slowly move your thimbstick up while shooting that's it. It helps a lot
what's the update and I can't wait to try this tip
Game capture will do 60fps full resolution if you use a flash drive
I figured this out before I wached this
Luke, I love your channel and this video is one of the reasons why. You hit the head right on the nail with this one (yeah I know what I typed). About a month ago I tried this kind of conscious picking your shots strategy and it no doubt in my mind works. I used to just spam the trigger in 1v1 magnum and BR gunfights. Thanks to this strategy I've been doing a lot better in 1v1's and sniping people at long distances with a Sentinel long barrel DMR. I'm level 146 and despite all of my experience I'm still learning new things and impressing myself. Your interest in overanalyzing encounters within this game really do work and help out in the long run. 10/10 video would note.
I think one way I have improved is staying in that on area of the map an then just start shooting
I've been doing that since day one
Luke i have trouble with straifing can you make a video on how to move in a gunfight
My biggest flaws in Halo are being too aggressive and flicking my shot. I have always flicked my shot, so I don't know how to "rewire" my brain to stop doing that.
Andrew Forte just get brain surgery and move some stuff around. I could help if u want, just need a pair of scissors and some glue
I don’t know if you have taken any real life firearm classes but the principle your talking about is called aim small miss small. If you select a body part to aim at instead of viewing the entire body as a target then you will naturally land more vital hits and are of course more likely to hit the head if your concentrating on that body part.
so you're saying instead of aiming in the traditional way (aim for the head entirely) sorta lead your shot in the opposite mindset, pop enemies shield with body shots and kill them with a headshot
How did your finals go?
ever hear of miyamoto musashi's book of five rings? I play tf2 with like 6k hours and I try my best to come up with new ideas like these, thank you for this one
I have super fast reflexes so I have my controller set to the highest sensitivity with 0% dead zone on the sticks. I kind of just keep my reticle on a "rail" where the head is supposed to be.
I don't want to come off as a dick, but I definitely thought this was common knowledge. I have been playing competitive Halo for so long I just assumed people knew to try to stay with the head so your reticle is in position for the five shot right away. I am now thinking that I should release some tip videos if it will actually help players trying to get better. Great content!
you never disappoint, very helpful as always!!
That intro Photo comparison 😂😂
What are the best settings?
good luck on your finals
Luke this really helped me I went from a 25% to 58% accuracy
It my be possible for you to change your accuracy over night but maybe not for most... You and Prox are roughly around the same level which is a little more than super duper good at the game. Prox said it wouldn't happen overnight because he probably took into account the skill level of most of his fans. He keeps it real with us. But props to you for proving that you can do it over night. Apparently you pulled it off.
Question: when you talked about the flicking part and its a bad habit, what if that actually helped due to the fast reflexes and if embracing this flaw, makes headshots much more easy and insanely annoying for your challenger. So my question is, if i/player has a flicking aim problem BUT it actually helps then harms, should i embrace this or not?
LMAO I'm glad I inspired this video :P
Good video my man :)
Proximitty hey prox
Proximitty how's it goin bitchboi
Suprememe haha
luv both of ur work keep it up
You're everywhere
Not gonna like I thought this was going to be a very click bait styled load of rubbish, but it was actually pretty interesting. Now to see if I can improve my accuracy!
I'm working on my own accuracy - I'll try some of these out tomorrow. A helpful hint that's helped me is to be aware of how you use the controller - pressing down on the triggers can have an affect on accuracy. I found that I would get nervous and slam them down sometimes.
Awesome clip. What button layout are you using?
LTN,I'm gonna try this out this Saturday. And BTW, thank you so much for your channel. I've gone from Bronze 3 to Gold 2 in one month from your vids. And I should hit platinum before the year is out.
Thanks a bunch!, Levi
This has helped me ton!!! Also your spartan schools have helped make me so much better!
Luke mentions auto aim,i didnt know there was a auto aim
Ths first 30 seconds of this video sounds exactly the same as 2021 luke :0 November
thanks dude
"I need to work myself to the head"
Is what I think when I get a new girlfriend.
What do you suggest regarding the new voices?
Should I buy them? What do they sound like?
First off, I suck at halo (for real, not just downplaying myself). Having accepted this, I haven't given much thought to any sort of improvement of my skill, i just go in, play my little gold and plat games and have fun. However, while I'm off work due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I've been playing a LOT of Halo. I stumbled upon this video while looking for vids of games played by onyx/champs just to see how different their play was from mine. I watched it, and decided I would try and see. I got out of ranked and into Quick play, and paid much more attention to the reticle than I normally would, and set my look sensitivity to 2 and acceleration to 2.5. (using bad numbers here is definitely part of my problem). Challenge was, only using magnum (mostly), how much could I actually improve overnight? I set myeslf up with three rules: 1) Magnum only unless a very good reason to change. 2) Do not fire at anytime that the reticle is not red. 3) Do not play to win. Play to get as many landed shots/headshots possible. Wellll I'll tell ya folks. I hit a game with 54% accuracy, and another with 7 headshots. Not numbers any good player would be proud of, but for ME, this is like having a night of god tier playing, I've never done either of those things before. and it was more or less consistent, with accuracy for the 5 hours I played. With very few exceptions, every game i successfully followed my rules, I was above 40% accuracy. Headshots not so consistent, but I got at least SOME headshots every game (I've gone entire halo sessions without getting one). LukeTheNotable, your video and gameplay analysis worked exactly as advertised. Thank you! 10/10 would watch again!
What are private lessons Luke?
good luck with your finals
This acctually helped me alot thanks bro ur a GOD!!!
