From wreck to collect, gee this poor casting had a hard life, beautiful restoration work Martin as always enjoyed, hope your doing well cheers 🥂🍻 KC 🇦🇺🤝🇬🇧😎😊👍
Very, very nicely done, Martin. That's a beauty again. I was holding my breath to help you out while you were scraping the chrome side strips! 😀 Sorry I'm a bit behind on your uploads. I was away for a nice Spring vacation. Catching up now. Haven't forgotten about you. You always have my full support! 🍁👊
The fender skirts make the Packard look sharp, a nice looking convertible 👍, Jerome is ready for a hot 🔥nite out on the town, going to pick up his lady! 😆😆😆, another nice 👍 restoration Martin, see ya my friend on the next restoration ,take care.👋😎🚙🚗🚁
Martin, top quality resto. Colour combination really suits, Jerome will look the part ready to cruise down Rodeo Drive in Hollywood !!! All the very best my friend, enjoy the weather and stay well. Cheers Chris 😁👍🏻🍻🇦🇺
Very nice Martin came up nice I liked the red inside as the carpet nice touch, I was watching a matchbox resto and they were doing roughly the same with scraping the paint for the lights, well hope to see ya in the tavern....Bill....DMC
Thanks Curtis, iam glad you liked it 👍 And it's great being able to get away for a few weeks at a time ,it's been a long time coming. All the best martin 👍
The front end of these beasts was so distinctive. I watched ColdWarMotors get a similar Packhard running and they were built like tanks. Straight 8 under that massive hood, if I remember right. Great resto of a fine old model.😁👌
Hey Martin looking good👍🏻📸 Nice colour combo. Love these American beauties! 😎 My shop is closed until we sell the house and relocate to another province… Cheers mate 🍻😎🇨🇦
Great work as always . This Packard is awesome , and now that it is restored , it looks better then new . NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.....
Hi Martin brilliant job really looked good colours. I have a little plane for wood blade made out of hacksaw blade ideal I have found for some scraping back, not all as some of us to fight to fit in, a one off job 30 years ago, some of the junk I carried in my tool box you can tell how heavy the toolbox was it pulled the handles off with the weight. Yes I'm on the mend but Mrs in rock fell over and shattered her hip so been visiting her every day as I can not drive yet I have to relie on children and friends 2 more weeks then it is my 8 week check up, the wife used to drive me but she not able for at least 12 weeks. Good luck with holiday home we had one for 10 years great did think about it again but not yet when we are both ok travel UK going from place to place. I digress but good luck young man all the best to you. 👍👍🙏
Thanks Bob , sorry to here about the wife having a fall , your having a rough time of it at the moment, but it will be all ok soon iam sure 👍 Keep up the positive vibes my friend. All the best martin 👍
I INHERITED MY FATHERS DINKY COLLECTION. OVER 200 FROM THE 50'S AND 60'S MOST IN ORIGINAL BOXES AND GREAT CONDITION.HE DIDN'T PLAY WITH THEM BUT AS A KID I REMEMBER HIM KEEPING THEM IN A CHINA CLOSET IN OUR VICTORIAN HOME HERE IN THE STATES. I STILL HAVE THEM AND BEEN TOLD BY A COLLECTOR OF DINKYS THAT THEY ARE THE MORE DESIRABLE MODELS. AND ARE WORTH CLOSE TO 400,000 DOLLARS. DON'T KNOW DON'T CARE THEY ARE SOME OF MY MEMORYS OF MY DAD.😊❤
Hi Mate nice job on the Packard really good detail on the dash love the colour combination and the mow hair top. Unfortunately my mow hair top is getting a bit thin, hair on me head that is 😂😂🤣. Great to hear you have a holiday home now, does that mean the old caravan go's into hibernation for a while. stay safe mate See you on the next one.👍
Hi Martin we really enjoyed this week and you are right on with the paint. I see Stanley has made an appearance, is it because he heard you landed a helicopter on a tin of dog food?. All the best from Ian b & family.
Cheers John, I did think about it but looking at Google images thay all seamed to be one colour metal dashboards ,but I do agree it would look nice . All the best martin 👍
Sorry it's not a 1955/60 it's an error because it's a 1953 Packard Cavalier convertible . In addition, this interior exterior color combo existed in the period catalog =) ! P.S : It would be interesting to see if it is not possible to add other characters in addition to the driver, a woman for example and at the back, a child and or a dog ; an idea like that lol .
I would assume that the 1955/60 relates to the years that the model was produced, rather than the year of the real car. Martin does say in the video that it's a '53 Packhard.
Yes Frédéric, the dates refer to the dates dinky toys produced the model, its definitely a 53 . It certainly would look better with other passengers. All the best martin 👍
