Actually, Justin Marshall, the one commentator that day (and my favourite for honest candour), pointed out that Richie was where he should not have been, messing with ball in a way he shouldn't have been and ref was studiously ignoring Richie. So, Greyling decided to administer justice.
I think that kind of foul play deserves jail time and a criminal record. Not to mention a life ban from all sport.

Callum Clark deliberately breaking Rob Hawkins elbow has to be one of the most disgusting acts I've seen on a rugby pitch.
Good thing this behaviour is outlawed in modern rugby. Braking a player's elbow or stomping on some one's head is pathetic behaviour.

In those days rucking was legal. If you didn't want to get rucked you didn't lie on the ball on their side. Funnily enough the ball came out much faster in those days.

How did you make this about the All Blacks 😂That was Rugby League, and the year was 1975 New Zealand v Wales in the Rugby league championship. Australia dominated the league even back then. I think they rolled off 12 wins against New Zealand from 1975 onwards until New Zealand finally got a win sometime in the 80s . There was a now famous stamp in Union in 1978 when All Black Ashworth stamped on welshman JPR Williams playing for Bridgend. He got 30 stitches and lost a few pints of blood, and went back out on the field again. Crazy . There was abit of bad blood in the years that followed.

@@Corrie-fs5wp Guess you didn’t hear about Buck Shelford getting kicked in the nuts and being knocked unconscious more than once, had a few teeth knocked out of his head, all in one infamous game against France shortly before the first RWC in ‘87. He was so disoriented during the game he wandered off the paddock and sat with the French on their bench! It wasn’t until after the game, when Buck got in the shower, another player yelled out that one of Bucks testicles was dangling to his knee in a sickening mess. The match was nicknamed the battle of Nantes’ you can watch a comical rundown of Bucks experience of the game on RUclips.

Get perspective - Two players were clearing the ruck (they aren’t mind readers) consequently their independent actions created a momentum, resulting in the dangerous effect and result.
Secondly - both Tana and Kevin are of impeccable character, both on and off the paddock & have never played a dirty move in their careers. It’s completely relevant to appreciate their character history prior and since then, before bemoaning onward in terms of appraising the incident.
Thirdly - NZ public do not tolerate poor sportsmanship, thuggery or lack of manners on or off the paddock. Every All Black knows their public behaviour is watched and respect must be earned at every turn before they pull on the Black Jersey and while they have a chance to pull on a next one.
They can't make these compilations without the springboks 😅
