Very much looking forward to this review. The tube looks nice. We’ve been out of the loop for a few months as the skies have been less interesting, but also we’ve had a lot of humidity in the south of France, making for less than ideal viewing. Hoping to change that in the coming weeks, but it’d be very interesting to see you picking objects of interest…. as that’ll help inspire us, but also I can compare your viewing with my Vixen 103 👍👍
Wow! Svbony might have sent you a forever-scope! Baader's Zoom with its 2.25x Barlow was meant for f/7, but will perform almost as well on the moon, planets, and double-stars with Tele Vue's 2x
@oninoyakamo Unfortunately I don't have the Baader zoom anymore, but I do have the TV 2x and going to test the sv550 with a variety of eyepieces to see how good the optics are.
That scope will spoil you! With 51 glass there will be a small amount of CA but will only be seen in the over all change in the color of the image. The manufacturer is likely Kunming United Optics who are known for making good scopes. Saturn is out and I would give that planet a try and if you stay up late enough I think Jupiter is starting to show as well. Both excellent planets for that scope! I have the 130mm version.
Looking forward to the full review.

I look forward to your results on how it performs!

A 122 mm triplet refractor for 1500 $ is an excellent price. And it is also very light, just 6.4 kg.

Looks like an Astro Tech and probably is since there are only two major manufacturers of telescopes. Should be nice.
Interesting, like!
Ha, just a tease.
