    Some of these passengers know how to manipulate the pricing. Entering the correct address it probably charges them more. I believe that is why some passengers will ask to be dropped off before the address entered, because it will likely charge them less for a shorter distance. For those I drop off and then drive to the destination before ending the ride. Others know a lot of drivers don't like multiple stops so they add them after they are in the car.

    Absolutely! I ignore all multiple stops. If a rider adds a stop while on the way, instantly cancel, just disrespectful. If they request a stop after pick up, I tell them I have a reservation and can't be late. Any blow back, I pull over and cance the ride. This way there unable to rate me. When Uber pays 50 cents a minute while waiting, the customer will hurry up. Mean while am losing money idling pumping the AC. Onetime a passenger added a stop and went grocery shopping . Never let them leave anything in the car. After 10 minutes I got her stuff went in the store and said am leaving. She curse me out . I immediately reported to Uber. She literally tried to get me deactivated saying speeding, made her feel unsafe., rude and so on. My area is mostly ghetto entitled folks . 👀

      That happened to me once too. The lady had multiple stops first stop was at a beauty salon so after she comes out with her bag of beauty supplies has me drive her to Safeway leave her stuff in the back of my car. Tell me she’s just gonna run in and grab a few things, like 30 minutes later, she comes out with a weeks worth of groceries and her basket and I told her don’t you ever do that again you want to ride like that you go with one driver to Safeway and then call another ride

    Once had a cab company ask me to pick up their ride because their car was out of service. I waited and texted with the cab company. After literally an hour, I went into the business and the receptionist said they left already. So I started the trip, dropped a ghost off at the airport, the second ghost downtown. Ended the trip. Got $48 wait pay for the 59 minutes waiting plus the trip fee. I was NOT going to cancel the trip! That guy wouldn't have paid me anything and I wouldn't have gotten my wait pay. But it seems like the longer the wait the more per minute they charge.

    If I were in your situation I would've told the rider, "Just so you know, I have a reserved ride I'm scheduled for after this one. I can't wait longer than 3 minutes or I'll be late."

    All good content. Great points all sides. Riders don't value driver time, Uber doesn't value driver time. When fares are this low, act accordingly. Cancel. Last thing rider sees is your tail pipes.

    I would have done the same thing. Yes, this happens. I tell my passenger when they do this, that I do have another ride waiting, so please hurry. After a couple of minutes I would have left as well. You did the right thing and Uber should not allow them to add a stop once the ride has started. Be safe. Cheers!

    Hi Levi, despite what you said and yes you are a nice guy; Uber set you up to fail and they shouldn’t do that. Correct on Uber can easily solve this dilemma. Now you have a low rating. Maybe don’t put Uber to the test to know if they care about tbeir great driver and don’t accept any trips before your scheduled ride. Russ

    First of all thanks for doing this videos Levi. Always great info. I have my own rule for stops. If it’s busy out there i don’t like to do them so I tell them that this is my last ride and I’m on my way to work or home and it would make me late (have kids and wife is aspecting me to be home at certain hour) or I’m honest about saying Uber/Lyft don’t pay us enough for these stops so it isn’t worth for us drivers to do them. I only do them when it’s to drop off or picking up someone else. Never drive thru (unless I’m hungry and I’m picking up something for myself too) or absolutely never convenient store unless they pull out a $20 bill for my waiting time. I feel disrespected if they add a stop without consulting me first. I always try to be polite and if the conversation goes south I immediately cancel or finish the trip after the stop and give them 1 star rate. If I’m allowed to cancel the ride then rider won’t be able to rate me. Uber needs to address this issue and respect us for our time. Since we drivers are not employees they shouldn’t be able to make money over our time and since they are not a transportation company they should be allowed to make money over the miles neither. They are technology company they should have a technology fee for providing booking rides and we should pay for our own comercial insurance of our preference.

    Levi, great video. I have experienced what you experienced. I permit changes when the passenger is in the car and asks first. If a change is made without them asking, I cancel. I have not had a passenger just hang out but I would have done what you did. I typically only do Uber Black and occasional Uber Comfort. I’ve only seen this garbage on UberX when I started out - those days are lonely gone.😊

    Great dopamine hit diving off! 😂. I'll do multistop rides when wait time is no less than $0.40 /minute. $0.50 better. Otherwise, no.

      Well, the company is paying $.20 a minute now so yeah let’s all sit here for four fucking dollars for 20 minutes

    You did the right thing to cancel. For now, I will tell passengers adding Stops that "I can only wait 5 min. Because I have another passenger to pick up after this trip." ......... Any ideas on what is a good phrase that's neutral and not combative, but reminds the passenger that we can't wait forever?

    yes, this is a HUGE issue with Uber. I feel that we the drivers should be able to see all the info about the trip; how much we are getting (lyft shows this), the address if the stops (lyft shows this), if the ride was edited, who we are picking up. Uber definitely needs someone pestering them about his.
    and you had time, i wouldve canceled or ended the trip after 2 minutes if he showed no signs of coming back. I also feel we don't get paid too much for waiting. What it might be is a lot of people use Lyft as well and you have to wait 5 minutes before you cancel on there and they come to Uber and think they have 5 minutes as well, but we can cancel after 2 minutes.

    Like someone else said so think I would have just mentioned to the rider about the reserve ride, but otherwise I totally agree with what you did and the blame that Uber holds.

    You are completely right on ALL of it. Just another reason why UBER continues to suck and why more and more drivers are declining these rides. UBER does not WANT to fix any of it's numerous issues.

    Uber should allow to driver approval the stops when the rider are willing to do so! Is really scary when the rider make changes on the trip and we don’t know where’s gonna be for my is really disrespectful that a rider make changes with out our consent and that is because we choose the ride knowing the destinations including stops this is a safety concern and need to be fixed! You have a great videos I follow your channel is really educational for us thank you 🙏

    Uber only cares about the customer, i.e. the money. Driver's are merely expendable and at best an after thought. Don't ever expect Uber to care about the drivers. With the amount of fare shaving and skimming with the upfront fares, drivers only have an antagonistic relationship with Uber.

    I cancel any ride that adds a stop or changes drop off location before I get to them. If I had been in your situation I'd have gone into store and said, "I have another trip to pick up and I can't be late so is it cool if we go right now?" If not I'd say, "I have to end your trip here then. It's outside my control. I think you'll get another one soon tho. Thanks man." And frankly you're better off with a 4.99 rating. 5.0 raises expectations.

    Uber just stopped to give me reservations ride because I violated 3 times didn’t show up to go live 40 minutes early for scheduled rides.
    What do you think am I will be eligible to get those scheduled rides.

    Do yourself a favor don’t ever take multiple stops because as they said now the person can do. What is it 3 to 5 extra stops not happening the second you see the thing change after what you’ve already accepted. Cancel it.

    I had nearly the same issue. Young guy went into Walmart and had me waiting 35 minutes before canceled. I totally missed my reserved ride. I was pissed times 10X!

      I'll still accept them. Yes, sometimes dumb things happen. And if I didn't have that reservation I probably would have stayed a little longer.
      But yes, I totally get why drivers don't take'em. 👍🏻
