Sis. You don’t know what a blessing single/ child free life is until you don’t. Love motherhood and couldn’t trade it but I just didn’t know how precious my time was before I had my boy
I can't stand being in the shower forever on wash day. I started detangling the day before wash day with water in a spray bottle and Aunt Jackie's Knot On My Watch. It goes quickly and I put my hair in 4 twists. The next day I'm in and out of the shower and there's hardly any shed hair to deal with. I love it.
I no longer detangle in the shower. Using heat has helped with the detangle issue. Keeping the hair stretched has saved me time. I was doing way too much damage in the shower.
I have about 15 braids, I wash condition and moisturize in those same braids and as you do, I take each braid down to detangle (hair is not as tangled to detangle much), remove shed hairs and re-braid, haven't had single strand knots at all. It's much easier and not time consuming. This has helped me retain length very well. (Low Porosity, 4c [4z] hair, fine strands, medium-high density hair)
This is what I have been doing cause detangling my hair the usual way in the shower has been a struggle. Glad we are on the same page cause I start doubting myself😊
Great video. I don't have a difficult time detangling. a good 10 minutes, and I never detangled in the shower. I see so much of that on youtube. I use a wide tooth comb pretty much dose the trick, I only have 3-4 hair strands if that. Thank you ever so kindly for sharing this God-Bless you 🪷
another great video!!!.... you're so right the longer the hair gets the more work to detangle 😪...twist hair is the solution to the madness 😂😂. I bet your little one is getting so big ❤❤.
I usually solely finger-detectangle in the shower. Now that it's longer it's getting difficult to go through my hair with my fingers and detangle. So I usually wait until after I blow dry my hair to thoroughly detangle it with my tangle teezer. Usually, I would have no problem but since my hair has gotten longer I have to go in smaller sections. I have to detangle in smaller sections to get out the tangles in my roots. I recently bought a paddle comb from Kazmaleje. I'm going to try it out during wash day a see how it goes. Also, a culprit to this issue is that I've been prolonging washing a little bit too far. I've been doing mini twists for the past 7 months. After I wash my hair I put it in 4 chunky flat twists and wait 1 week to do mini twists then leave them in for 4 weeks. This is 5 weeks of not washing my hair. My twist would start to lock after 3 weeks in the lower nape. So now I decided to take a break from mini twists for about 6 months. I'm also going to stick to washing my hair every 3 to 4 weeks consistently while wear my hair in medium size flat twists. For the winter I can manage every 4 weeks. Summer time is where I will be wash every 3 weeks since my scalp sweats a lot in the summer time.
Thank you so much for this video!! I am watching this in the middle of my own wash day, and was literally just thinking about ways I can keep my twists in for longer without dealing with excessive tangling/locs. Can’t wait to give you’re suggested retwust method a try. I feel like it’s seriously going to save me some time 💜 Also, I am a university student and I will be sure to treasure the additional time I have 😂
Thanks for the information, this message has come at the right time, I have spent so much time always detangling and it's true being a mom there is no time. Very encouraging, I now know what to do for me and even for my girls.
i now finger detangle in the shower before i wash it. i get less tangles and no breakage. it's the same technique used if using aloe vera gel, flaxseed gel or any other product but only using one ingredient. water.
This sounds like my current life 😊, with 3 kids, I don’t spend hours washing my hair and detangling it. Thinking of twisting my hair coz it’s faster than my usual braids which took me one week to do last time…thanks for the tips P❤
Totally get it. I love braids and how they protect and preserve my hair. They also retain better moisture and keep the ends better but the time….especially for mini ones🫣
I am 7 months postpartum. Started taking my natural hair serious 3 months ago. But anytime i wash, l lose lot of hairs. It's quite discouraging. Hopefully, I will see results next year.! Thanks for your videos.
Sometimes I get knots in my mini twists. I snip out the little knot but lately I've been feeling maybe there's a better way to manage. What do you do in these instances?
I have been finger detangling for a year now and noticed much less breakage and no scalp pain. And i used a wide tooth comb for the first time last month because i wanted to get some knotless braids installed. I did not miss the feeling of using those tools on my hair. Anyway, it's been three weeks since I've had these braids and i miss having my hair out so much. 😢 but i have to get my money's worth 😂
ahahahh totally get it about your money’s worth. I am also thinking of getting som spring twists in so will have to prep the hair😬. not looking forward to the prep
