Thanks for helping me remember those times with my family. Hope some day you can look back, and have good memories of your family suppers. I think you are on a good start. Wow! The bounty of harvest from your efforts never ceases to amaze and impress! I, like others have mentioned, remember large harvests followed by days of canning, pickling, freezing, making jams and jellies, etc. Such positive results from a season of hard work!

    So wonderful that you honor Aaron’s Olympic run with the Rio bucket. 🤣🤣 That comment cracked me up in your recap video. What an abundance of food! I kept thinking “what do you eat first?” There’s such joy when you can share with others what you are able to grow. You’re doing that literally and with us virtually. Thank you!

    “This is the kind of produce I sneak onto my dad’s desk.”😂🤣 So funny!!! I immediately thought “its a butt melon”, then scarecrow came to mind and with Halloween right around the corner…oh boy, this could be a fun one!!!🥰

    WOW, WOW, WOW so happy for you, AND the people you share with - and of course, the smile you bring to your Dad's face when he sees that funny fruit. Looks like the name of that plant you won't say out loud. LOL

    Terrific harvest! I tried my hand at pumpkins this year and was so excited when the first of the flowers showed. Unfortunately, the plants only produced male flowers. Not a single female flower and the vines eventually succumbed to powdery mildew because of the overabundance of rain and humidity we’ve gotten here in Upstate New York (Saratoga Region) this summer. I ended up pulling the vines on Saturday which broke my heart. But, because of watching your videos, I knew enough to replant the bed will a fall crop of peas. Thanks for always encouraging us through your videos.

    "so grateful". I agree. I think that every time I pick something and enjoy it. I am so grateful that I am capable of putting in the time and the work, and that Mother Nature pays me back with lovely food!

    Hey Laura, this was our first year in a house and thanks to your inspiration, I have done lots to the landscape and my small garden! I did grow watermelon, but did not know to cut the water to them. Some of my Sugar Baby are ready, but others as well as my Crimson Sweet are far behind! If I cut the water for the biggest ones will the small ones still do ok? Cutting water here also means they would still get rain here 🌧.. Thanks, Lindsay

    thank you for showing your mistakes as well as your success with picking the plants (like picking the white pumpkin on accident) a lot of times it seems like gardeners on the internet can’t make mistakes but you showing that you have is reassuring :’)

    Hi from Australia. The peaches look amazing. We would need to net them here as the cockatoos and rosellas would have a feast! Nothing would be left.

    Wow-it IS so BEAUTIFUL to see such a wonderful harvest! I can’t remember if you have a chest freezer? I imagine you do, perhaps in your basement. When I had a large (no comparison to your space in size-lol!) ‘truck’ garden in Northern Nee Hampshire, I had just a fridge freezer so I did give away much of my harvest ad I hadn’t learned to can as yet. You dinner plans sound FABULOUS (made me hungry 😊) would you be able to share the cooking process? How do you makes mashed potatoes? Can you share the desert you described? Thanks for a beautiful start to my Labor Day Laura-Happy Labor Day to you and your. Some of the hardest working people around 😊!!!!!

    Happy Labor Day everyone! Laura, you’ve gotten a lot of use out of your high tunnels, but what’s the plan when you take them down?? Will the new shed in the orchard take their place/role?

    • @juliafiore120
      @juliafiore120 3 года назад +2

      Good morning 😃 Laura had meantioned she will be taking the high tunnels down and perhaps using that space for a crop of Dahlias or Tomatoes. She has ideas…

    • @elizabethmitchell0071

      She has said the shed is a flower shed. The high tunnels are used for shrubs waiting to be planted...so yeah was wandering where those were going too when tunnels are taken down🤔

    • @gardenanswer
      @gardenanswer  3 года назад +18

      We’re going to just store the tunnels for now. We’re hoping to operate a bit differently next year- with far fewer things on hand. It can be challenging to keep so many things looking great through the weeks and weeks of high temps and winds we get. For now, anything extra we have, we plan to store behind our original greenhouse (now that the arbs back there are gone). We’ll see how it goes! 🤞☺️
