UPDATE : CLC IS ABOVE BLACKPINK.
This is not my opinion, this is based on vocal technique but some groups are very close so can be interchangeable. Btw of course I couldn’t include every 3rd gen gg and of course this is not a hate video, they’re all talented.
Some explanations :
• OMG and Gfriend are interchangeable.
• Yuju carries Gfriend’s vocal line because Eunha is underdeveloped.
• Underdeveloped and weak vocalists in the vocal line bring the average of the group down.
• In Mamamoo, Red Velvet, Twice and OMG all members in the vocal line support.
So in gfriend eunha dosent have support right

YooA is weak to average so she's not that shallow like weak shallow. She's quite consistent around A3/Bb3 ~ G#4/A4 above Chuu (Loona) in W to A.
i think clc has a stronger line than bp tho

@@Random_ratinNewYork yeah Rosé is the one I'd actually call a Vocalist, Jennie and Jisoo are inconsistent and Jisoo doesn't support her belts so she sounds strained and tight, Jennie at her best is better than Jisoo but Jisoo is a bit more consistent. Rosé has the Second Best or Best Lows, Best Belts ( she's more consistent than Jennie ) and Best Head Voice.

Siyeon is an Effective and works well as an Idol Vocalist.
Yoohyeon is a good Support System for SY to rely on and deserves a Main Vocalist position.
Jiu is decent in Falsetto and one of the most Versatile in the group.
Sua is a strong Sub Vocalist and deserves a Lead Vocalist position.
@@JasPuglieseAll of this "Siyeon doesn't have vocal support" came from one video from a person who has no clue what vocal support is. Even vocal pedagogues disagree about what support actually is. The basic consensus is this: good breath support is controlling the amount of air necessary to hit the note or passage you are going for without running out of breath or needing to gasp. You can't even hear support in someone's voice unless you've heard them only sing from the throat at some point. You can hear and see strain. But strain isn't just a shallow sounding voice. It's pushing beyond your breath control. Signs of not supporting are not having good pitch accuracy, not being able to control your own vibrato or vocal cord closure, going off key, or the note petering out when it's not supposed to. These don't apply to Siyeon from what I have heard. To top it off, she uses advanced vocal techniques and rock affectations that you absolutely can't do unless you have good breath support. Most of the people ranking vocalists have no idea how to rank someone who uses stylistic or affectations vocally, since it is considerably more difficult to tell. They equate support with the voice sounding "full," but that isn't always the case.
Twice isnt really known to be a vocal group, but when it comes to their vocal line, they really are really pretty decent. They just arent given the credit they deserve by the general public which is really unfortunate for them.
Also i saw somewhere in the comments (here or maybe in another video) that you have a community analyzing kpop idols so i was wondering if you have a community docs/page where there is a list of analyses/tiers/rankings of all the kpop idols youve checked out. Id really appreciate it if there is something like that you can share bc im really curious how the 3rd and 4th gen boy group vocalists are ranked 😅

@@ncityresident4729 JY is Weak and Underdeveloped in Head Voice and Falsetto and has no signs of Vocal Agility. Even though she has decent Lows and Belts, Yoohyeon is ( at least to me, ) bit more well rounded to me

Think WJSN and Dreamcatcher should be higher. WJSN vocal lines are well recognised in Korea as one of the strongest though. They even have two musical actresses there
I love dreamcatcher but their vocals aren't all that amazing. Especially not Siyeon's who's really not that good for a main vocalist.

and by the way, she can support but she doesn't cause she uses a different, rock singing technique which doesn't rely on support
she's also one of the few vocalists in kpop who achieved a vibrato

Moonbyul actually joined hoping to be a vocalist, but because 3/4 of the group being main/lead vocalist was already too much, she decided to take a rapper or dancer position since they didn't have one at the time and she wanted to focus on the group's missing points.
She also said that it was Solar who taught her how to rap in the beginning since she initially knew nothing about rapping. Moonbyulie basically took a big risk to fill gaps in the group.
@@azzahfadhilah7573 well I agree with you if you talk about now, but they before she selected as Mamamoo members with more force, they tell her to be rapper since 3 members already good, and they compare her vocal instead they develop her vocal to joint with 3 members as mamamoo vocalist. If she want to choose as rapper of the group back then, they never debut her as mamamoo member.

nayeon, jeongyeon and jihyo are a pretty solid vocal line, thats why theyre above the others
@@deadblocko yeah and they're more well rounded together and no one is carrying the vocal line like Yuju did with Eunha and GFriend.
Jihyo isn't the best Main Vocalist in 3rd Gen, but at least Nayeon and Jeongyeon helps with being strong Lead Vocalist's. Nayeon in Lows and Belting ( if they're in her range ), Jeongyeon in Belting and having a Strong Tone with works well with every member while still letting her stand out ( example - JY's last choruses ) and Jihyo having a strong Chest Voice and Good Mid Belts and Decent Lows
With RV, Wendy just carries the group in Vocals, no doubt ( Being Good to Great in most areas. *Worst to Best* Agility/Lows, Belts, Upper Belts, Head Voice ). Seulgi is Amazing for a Lead Vocalist though. ( Also RV isn't a group of Main Vocalist's, Irene, Joy and Yeri are wayyy too underdeveloped to be Main, at best Joy would be Main Vocalist with ITZY and Yeji and Lia would keep their Lead and Main Positions respectively due to Lia and Joy being on a similar level ).
Mamamoo just has the best Vocal Line in 3rd Gen ( NMIXX, ÆSPA and Purple Kiss are the best Vocal Lines in 4th, if they continue to improve and don't go through regression like Yuju, Nayeon, Jihyo and Wheein. And now Jeongyeon and Hwasa ). Wheein and Solar are Top Tier Vocalist's ( alongside Wendy, all around a similar level ) and Hwasa is not far behind either and could definitely be a Main Vocalist in most groups. No doubt MMM deserve their first place.
So glad to see Lovelyz on the list but Im expecting for higher place. They belong to top 5 tbh. ❤ Livelyz forever

Their vocalists are pusher, and SM very rarely debut a pusher vocalist.

@@azzahfadhilah7573 like when they're doing things that are basically damaging their vocal chords. they go out of their range and usually they are part of the vocal line yet have no support. if they do have support, they hit high notes out of their range. Some idols that do this include Eunha of Gfriend/ViViZ, Han Jisung of SKZ, Jimin and Jungkook of BTS, Nayeon of Twice, and possibly Lily of Nmixx but she's good since she has the best support and healthiest voice

Seunghee: A3 - C5 - Eb5 (C+) Mid A-AA
Hyojung: G#3/A3 - Bb4/B4 (C) Low A
Yooa: B3 - G#4/A4 (Shallow)(D) High Weak
Yooa is one of those fringy weak tiered vocalist so she isn’t as shallow as some of the other weak tier vocalist and Hyojung actually has some G#3 (arguably the best lower register of Oh My Girl) and B4’s so she’s a Average
They could be 4th, Gfriend and Oh My Girl are quite interchangeable because I had trouble deciding whether one high AA or one mid A-AA and one low A is better but I think Twice is pretty solid and deserves 3rd because no one is weak.
@@kyumi__ current Yuju is more of mid AA at most and even then it's arguably. She hasn't been too great lately. There might be a shift in her ranking
In gfriend, technique wise, SinB is actually a better vocalist than Eunha, because aside from Yuju, only SinB can support

There's more to vocals than support. Something all the armchair vocal "analysts" need to realize.
During Queendom, SinB did the dance comp & Eunha did the vocal comp. Pretty telling
@@dissonantvibe8585 definitely, but support is undeniably a big factor in judging a vocalist's ability. There is always a big difference in a good singer and a good vocalist: singer is your ability to communicate via the song, while vocalist is your ability to deliver the music in a technical way. Eunha is a technically weak vocalist (tension, nasality, airyness, straining and raised larynx), but she is a great singer.
As for the queendom question, SinB is the main dancer while Eunha is the main vocalist, hence why the positions are distributed like this.
(Regarding to Eunha's vocal abilities I take reference from other analysis: none of it is my own analysis so I could be wrong)
@@dissonantvibe8585 You can’t use the Queendom 2 dance and vocal performance for back up, because that’s NOT pretty telling, like the person above me said that’s based on positions. There were only a few people from certain groups who could be interchangeable, ex: Heejin from Loona, (though unofficial) she was considered part of the dance and vocal line of Loona, so she could’ve easily been in the vocal performance instead of the dance one. You wouldn’t want Hikaru, Dayeon, and Xioating form Kep1er being in the vocal mission instead of the dance one, since they are considered the main dancers, even though Dayeon has amazing vocals it just wouldn’t make sense.

This need an update. Moonbyul is belong to Mamamoo vocal line too. Her low notes add a whole demention to their harmonies. Plus Moonbyul can do all belting, riff and runs, hiting high notes. She can easily beat some other group main vocals for sure

Groups relying on a single outstanding vocalist should not be that high. Gfriend getting carried by Yuju and Red Velvet getting carried by Wendy. Without them those 2 groups probably would probably be at the bottom. Groups like Oh My Girl and WJSN gladly rely on more than 1 competent vocalist.
Also, this list is so unserious. Twice will never be that high in any list regarding vocals.
In case you forget, Wendy has Seulgi.
@@94mp99 I did not forget. Wendy carries Red Velvet, Seulgi has plenty of flaws and has an average technique, like most of the lead vocalists in this list. She’s notably worse than WJSN’s main vocalists and OMG’s Seunghee, so without Wendy RV would be at the bottom.

Most of 3rd Gen lead vocalists are Weak to Average, or even Underdeveloped.
It's the 2nd Gen lead vocalists that most are on the Average level.

Yuju is B- tier, Jihyo is a C/C+, 2yeon is D+/C-, while eunha is at most a E+. Based on this info, Twice should be higher. Also Eunha doesn’t really support and she regressed a lot since they had cuter songs. In Songs such as Sunrise, Crossroad, TFTMN, she was at her peak as she didn’t force her signature cute sound which is basically the main culprit of her regression

Not really, they only had Kei as a decent vocalist, and she's weaker than almost every vocal-line members of both group except Seulgi.
@@94mp99 She is weaker by just a little, she isn't in a different level, so she is still on pair with them. Besides Kei, Lovelyz has Baby Soul, Jin and Sujeong as decent vocalists, she is by far the best, but she doesn't carry the vocals of the group alone

Yeah but Gfriend only has 2 members in the vocal line so only Eunha brings the average down while in other groups there are several weak members in the vocal line.

Seulgi is around where Jihyo/Jeongyeon are and Nayeon isn’t too far behind comparatively, but Wendy is just too good and even with those 2, I wouldn’t be against rv being first since they have the top vocalist mentioned. However mamamoo has the 2/3/4th best vocalists so it makes sense putting them first

In Twice 3/3 support so the average is higher and it’s a solid vocal line, no one is weak. Dreamcatcher’s best vocalist is actually Yoohyeon because Siyeon strains a lot. In Gfriend and WJSN, Yuju, Dawon and Yeonjung carry but weak and underdeveloped vocalists bring the average down.

When people underestimate lovelyz vocal line.... Only knets know how strong lovelyz vocal line is... 😌One of the best vocal line 3 main vocal with one lead vocal that act as main vocal in a temporary group that consists seulgi as lead vocal in that group... Also their sub vocal can hit high note in cover stage along with RV best sub vocal joy.

Evidentemente no son mejores que RV y Mamamoo, pero la línea vocal de Twice es lo suficientemente decente para que esté en esa posición por ejemplo:
Twice tiene 9 miembros de estás 9/ 3 tienen una técnica, mientras que Gfriend antes de separarse de las 6 miembro 1 tiene técnica y cargaba con todo el peso vocal de las canciones.
En CLC de 7 miembros solo 1 tiene técnica y básicamente está al mismo nivel que Nayeon.
En Blackpink aunque su vocal line está compuesta por Rose, Jennie y Jisoo solo Rose posee buena técnica, aunque a Jennie se le puede considerar una lead vocalist.
Creo que no has escuchado lo suficiente a Gfriend, 5 de 6 tienen buena técnica incluso pueden hacer algunas notas altas

wjsn and OMG should be above twice, wjsn has two Average and that's already put them abovs twice and OMG has seunghee who is A-AA and hyojung who is above both Nayeon and Jeongyeon
But WJSN has Soobin and Dayoung. I agree that although they have YooA, Oh My Girl, Gfriend and Twice can be interchangeable.

I think Twice and Gfriend is too high but I think your rank is basically the whole vocal line, and if a member of a vocal line doesn't support it would make the group lower right? Cause like Yuju is in AA but Eunha isn't even in weak tier, is that really enough to be better than OMG who have Seunghee (A-AA), Hyojung (A), and Yooa (W), there's also Lovelyz with Kei (A-AA) and 3 members who are atleast W? With Twice though I think Dawon > Jihyo > Yeonjung > Jeongyeon > Seola ≥ Nayeon > Soobin > Dayoung.
