    About Young Sheldon:
It’s 1989 and 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper has skipped four grades to start high school along with his less-intellectual older brother. As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, his mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.

He mentors Sheldon and is one of the few people Sheldon as a kid has something in common with their personalities. Sheldon does just like he says. Sturges he did it! He won the Nobel. Its really sad cause we don't see him in TBBT presumably him being dead..

Seeing Dr. Sturgis struggle with mental problems hits home. My mom struggles with mental illness and I remember seeing her have a nervous breakdown for the first time when I was 7 years old. She didn't want to expose me to a harsh reality at such a young age so instead of talking to me she isolated herself when she felt a breakdown coming on. She has only ever had 3 that I witnessed, but it was heartbreaking each time

Meema learns about John's past prior to this scene in this episode.
She begins to worry when John starts weeding goose grass in the middle of the night in the dark and then breaking into the main frame computer lab at work. She then sees written equations in the bathroom, under the toilet seat, and this behavior wasn't normal. It was showing that he was losing his mind (one of the equations he wrote on the bathroom wall was: time + heat + bread = toast).
From the "Hello!" to the "You know, neutrinos are interesting, they never bond with anything, they're always alone.", and ending with "It was my dream to win the Nobel, and I'm not going to. I bet Sheldon will." All these lines left me broken for this man, how he also feels alone and will never be recognized for his work in science. Even the background music makes this scene so eerie and sad. Kudos to Wallace Shawn for this role.

Unfortunately this is true for most in academia… and as an academic researcher, this hits hard. All of us being “experts” in our field try our best to be solidified in history, and be remembered as one of the greatest scientist to ever live - to have contributed to a great extent to the human race. But the truth is, there are millions of papers written by academics that lie in the corner of databases that are never even read by anyone. Luckily, I’m not in academia for the glory or prestige - I’m in it to keep learning. I like to pursuit the knowledge and that is what drives me. I couldn’t care less about awards - although I have revived a few despite my early years as an academic

A worthless award. Any worthwhile achievement and contribution is more valuable than a nobel prize. I value the combined achievements of the UNRECOGNIZED MANY versus the combined achievements of the RECOGNIZED few elitist 😊😊😊😊😊

Wow I started to watch Young Sheldon last year. This year everyone is a sex addict. The grandmother is the leader. That's all she thinks about. They're even making the mother a pervert. So far the daughter and Sheldon are not interested. I'm sure the writers are working on how to involve them in the sex life shared with the rest of the family. Why is this happening? I'm all done with it.

What series are you watching. I’m two third’s through season 4 as part of a young Sheldon marathon I’ve been doing the last few days and I don’t see anything unusual.

@@WilliamPayneNZ hi, thank you for your response. During the end of last season. The mother was involved with a priest. Nothing happened she had fantasies about a relationship. The father has been very close and flirting with his neighbor. I never thought that kind of information would be exposed on that show. I don't really know much about the history of that show I just know that it changed for me. Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate it. I wish you the best.
