Welcome to part 1 of our Kos Vlogs!! Our first 3 days at Akti Beach Club, a walk around the Kardamena shops and swimming in the sea at the Akti Beach Club Beach!
We enjoy getting to know our way around the hotel during our first few days here, there's plenty to do (and eat!) We will upload a dedicated hotel and food video after our vlogs.
Kardamena is lovely, with lots of shops to browse around and authentic restaurants and bars if you fancy some good Greek dishes. We caught the Akti shuttle bus into town which only takes around 5 minutes. It picks you up from outside the main entrance and drops you near the taxi rank in Kardamena. It picks you back up from the same spot so it's an easy option to visit town... and free!
The beach at the Akti Beach Club is great! Don't forget your beach shoes as the shallows are pretty rocky and slippy. There are sandbags to walk on but I would still recommend you take some with you, or both the shop on site and near the beach sell them if you'd rather buy them there.
The shops also sell snorkels and masks/goggles, I'd also recommend buying or bringing from home as the water is very clear and you're able to see lots of fish! Well, we did anyway!
Unfortunately, the conditions were not ideal for taking out the pedalos, kayaks or paddleboards the week we stayed so didn't get to try these watersports out. There are plenty of sunloungers but I suggest if you're going as a family and want one each to go early. We're happy just sharing the one or two and spending most of the time together in the sea so wasn't a problem for us.

Did they do much Greek food please, love the pictures, getting well expensive in Greece I remember their local currency and how cheap it was
Yes they had a lot of Greek dishes in the buffet and had a restaurant you could book which served Greek and fish dishes. We didn't try this during our stay so can't give a review of this unfortunately. Yes we have noticed this in many countries lately, prices have definitely sky rocketed! Great video of the hotel and your holiday we have been to kos many years ago and this is our first time has a family me the wife two boys 17 and 13 just a quick question is there an enough to keep the kids entertained I read the animation team do there best also do they supply beach towels

You're right the animation team are brilliant, I really don't know where they find their energy! 😂 There's plenty of activities to do like tennis, football and pool. If you go to reception they will give you the equipment. The pool cues are in the sports bar I believe. The animation team host competions throughout the day and during the evening shows they hold a presentation evening to celebrate the winners.
If the sea is calm you can use all the watersport equipment, unfortunately it was a little too windy for us to use when we were there. They give you towels at reception when you check in which you can change when you want and can use at the beach and swimming pools.

Is Akti Beach also a good fitness area? or do you have to go to the akti palace for that? Furthermore, a clear video of the breakfast buffet, afternoon and evening buffet is nice to see where the range of meat, desserts and everything else is beautifully shown, thank you
I didn't see the gym area unfortunately to answer your question. I believe it is only the spa in which you need to visit Akti Palace. I think we have saved a map so I will find this and post an update.
Where was the market you were at? We go in 4 weeks😊
Hi @nicfranc4991 It was Kardamena town, there's a long narrow street full of little market shops so isn't a market as such as it's open all season I believe. Oooh 4 weeks isn't long at all! Have a fantastic time! 🤩
Why did you not book the sovereign hotel all inclusive please. Do you think for two women it would be suitable please
Most definitely Paula, to be honest, we can't recall seeing the Sovereign Hotel when we booked Akti Beach so whether there was no availability or the price may have been higher that could possibly be why.
However, we like to do quite a bit of research before booking a hotel, we liked the look of Akti and the reviews were positive as well as being within our budget for our summer holiday so we were very happy to book this one.
The Sovereign looks lovely hotel too although didn't see the hotel during our stay in Kardamena. Are you deciding which out of the two to visit? It can be hard to decide sometimes can't it, there's so much choice! I hope you have a lovely time whichever hotel you stay in! 😊💕

Yes we do too, the boys love cats, well any animal really! I'm not sure if you have seen part two but we visit Plaka Forest where a lovely lady is doing wonderful work. She runs a charity looking after all the stray cats and trying to rehome some. I would recommend a visit if you can. 😊
What area did you stay in?
Hi, we stayed in Kardamena, a few minutes drive out of town but walkable.
What times were the entertainment? And kids clubs?
@Jensondarby-im5ll Thank you for your question. I believe the kids club runs from 10am - 6pm. Not sure if there's a break for lunch. The evening entertainment starts around 8.30pm with a mini disco to start and then family entertainment afterwards, shows, games show's, singing & dancing etc. Hope this helps 🙂
Was there hair dryers in the room? Is part 3 your last video?

@Jensondarby-im5ll There was hairdryers in our room and ours was very good. Part 4 is available to view now and there will be a video of the food options and another of our room layout. Please let me know which you'd prefer first! 🙂
@Jensondarby-im5ll We went to Lido Waterpark, Plaka Forest, Paradise Beach, (Bubble beach) Agios Stefanos (the beach with the ruins and island to swim to) and saw the Zia sunset. We have a playlist with all our Kos videos to view including our day trips which I believe is part 2 & 3. We didn't go on Tui's excursions, we hired a car and made our own way to places which was better for us. The roads are narrow but very easy to drive around the island.

Hello, thank you for your response, we are planning to spend our summer holiday in 2024 here, but we are not sure yet, is the hotel palace nextdoor also a akti better ? and can we participate there? Furthermore, the buffet videos are very important to us as food is very high on our list, greetings
Ahh thats great, I do think you'll have a lovely time. The Akti Palace is next door but we didn't take a look unfortunately. We spoke to a family who were staying at the Akti Palace and they said they came to eat at the Akti Beach Club as the choice was better.
