Chris, you should reach out to the folks TFL Off-Road to see if they would be interested in your Defender. That's their shtick and I personally think it would be great seeing you pass your off-roader to them.
Chris, the noco is great except for one glaring problem. It’s easy to press the power button accidentally and turn it on, and it has nothing to keep it from staying on until completely dead, and once completely dead it’s a brick you throw away. And it’s fairly expensive especially for the larger model I bought. I loved mine until this happened, and now will never own another until they add a low voltage cutoff.
Land Rover Defenders and series L-R are great. Unfortunately, more states and provinces here in Canada will no longer register Right Hand Drive vehicles, so, probably best you move on while there are buyers.
Good thing people that Own Right Hand Drive vehicles is they are Allowed to Drive Wherever they Want to & As Long as they Want to. As for the Registration goes, driving back to the State of Residence isn't the End of the World.
It was known years ago that if you wanted to cross Africa, there were only two vehicles to use, a land rover or a land-cruiser, the reason, any small village would have some type of mechanic who could resolve a problem and parts with these vehicles. The saying was correct on a few occasions.

My police charger had the battery in the trunk but a jump locatunder the hood. Might add a separate location to avoid your battery under the seat.
Great video y’all 🇺🇸👍🏻. Chris send me the link to your tool bag 👍🏻thanks
அருமையான நிகழ்ச்சி .
Yay!
Hahaha loved the Jurassic park reference
I D K about recovery points but if the truck is in need of new bump-stops that steak looked like it would have served the purpose just fine.....what happened to it ❓
What kind of shoes are you wearing?
Some of my favorite off road trails are around Wickenburg.
Lucas, Prince of darkness....
Have you met my friend Noco....?
We will never be able to buy a new vehicle that is even close to your truck in mechanical simplicity and durability. You better hang on to it.
Taco Bell!?!? In Tucson - there's really no excuse to have Taco Bell in Arizona. There are plenty of genuine Mexican fast food restaurants and food trucks around.
That’s a good thing about these old rigs. They are easy to fix and easy to get to. Land Rover motto.. “Unto the next problem!”🍻
What’s going on with orange Jeep you ever getting it back
Lot to be said for old school simple. Something to consider if you ever have to replace Orangie. The new models have all kinds of stupid crap, like start-stop, etc..., maybe too many nanny state safety features for my old fart needs.
I would like to hear your thoughts on gas/diesel prices and how they have affected your adventure planning. I know I have had to cut back on the number of trip I was planning and the ones I do plan to take will be shorter in distance traveled. Although not in time spent enjoying the back country.
I've never understood why price of Diesel has never went under 85 octane since 9/11. As far as I knew it's cheaper & easier to make diesel. It can't be because of people making their own biodiesel.
I’m curious to know how you’re finding crawling on those desert trails with a standard transmission as opposed to the auto in your Jeep?
He only answers questions on fb and his website.
HI CHRIS 👋
MY SON / CHRISTOPHER / HAS THE NOCO GB150 JUMP STARTER FOR HIS DIESEL POWERED VEHICLES FOR WORK . HE LIKES IT VERY MUCH ! ALSO COMES IN HANDY FOR HIS BIGGER RIDING LAWNMOWERS TOO . EVENTUALLY I WANT TO GET ONE JUST IN CASE HE NEEDS ME WHERE HIS CREWS ARE WORKING , PLUS FOR ME TOO . THEY HAVE A 24 VOLT GB250 NOCO OUT NOW I THINK ? SOME WHERE AROUND $$$$ .
I'M GLAD YOU FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM . SO THE FAN BELT DIDN'T MAKE ANY SOUND OF SLIPPING ? THAT WOULD OF HELPED YOU OUT FASTER .
GORGEOUS AREA THE FOOD LOOKED MIGHTY TASTY 👌 EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS DRAMA YOU'LLS CALM VOICES & TAKING TIME TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM WAS NICE TO SEE & HEAR 👂
BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 THANK YOU 🙏 BOTH AWESOME VIDEO 📹 CHRIS ARE YOU GOING TO BE AT THE EAST COAST OVERLAND EXPO IN ARRINGTON VIRGINIA THIS YEAR SEPTEMBER I THINK ? My 09 jeep only has 160,000 miles. I need to get out more
You guys just make us happy. 😀
that thing is a weapon ,, don't make em like they use to... man you need to take the 80s decals ,pinn stripping off it just saying is all ...
Bonnets up on a landrover? Shocker
I’ve often wondered if Picacho Peak was accessible. Perhaps some other year as we’re moving from AZ to NM in less than a week. The Defender appears to be a very practical vehicle. It’s already scratched and dented thus the stress over that first bit of damage is negated…
Chris and Shannon sty safe on your travels.
Chris, you should reach out to the folks TFL Off-Road to see if they would be interested in your Defender. That's their shtick and I personally think it would be great seeing you pass your off-roader to them.
Darren: Forget those dropkicks. All they do is give LRs a bad name.
Love them Land Rovers. You can pretty much fix them your self.
Gotta be smarter than the Noco
Don't know about anyone else, but I'll be glad to see some terrain other than desert.
I agree - winter in Arizona however is very practical when you live out of your vehicles.
You should have purchase a fj cruiser. I gmhad 350k and it ran like new. Never give me any problems.
hy i drive also a devender closed for pepsi in the nederlands off the beach love it
Who would have guessed that truck would have some issues???
You’re literally 30 minutes from my house. Fun area out there
Land Rover Defenders and series L-R are great.
Are you bringing the jeep back?
Will both vehicles be going to Oregon ?
It was known years ago that if you wanted to cross Africa, there were only two vehicles to use, a land rover or a land-cruiser, the reason, any small village would have some type of mechanic who could resolve a problem and parts with these vehicles. The saying was correct on a few occasions.
It would be tight to give Orangie to your son and let him start a youtube channel with it
OMG do NOT watch this episode if you're hungry for Mexican food. also, that anti-sway link on the rear right is either loose or designed to move to and fro that way...
Front end receiver hitch, bullnose w/D ring shackle....maybe?
....followed up with power run to the front & back for your removable 10K Warn.
Why am I getting so attached to this Truck?
It's a shame You're selling it, they where becoming good friends.
Your videos are so relaxing with all the heck going on in the world right now.
As the West is the best,do you have any desire to explore east of the Mississippi? I know when you first ventured off years ago you had explored on the eastern side some making your way out west. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Great question - I'm curious too. I've read that the western US has a lot more BLM land which equals more free places to camp and that back east most of the open land is private. I have a feeling that plays a roll in where they base themselves, but I would love to hear what Chris has to say about it.
I live in NC & it's extremely hard to find places where one can go to escape for free @@happycamper1687 . If we are lucky enough to find a place it's either trashed, crowded or when we get everything all set up, sit down & crack a cold beverage & out of nowhere sounds of Inconsiderate people. It's sad when I can visit a friend in a City & it's more quiet & has less traffic going by than while I'm out camping.
@@tpseeker3367 interesting. I also live in North Carolina and that is not my experience at all. Plenty of great options near me for dispersed camping. I do find it helps to be set up for backpacking, some of the best spots are a few hundred feet from the forest roads.
What a coincidink@@DannyLebsock . I'm just above Bragg. I gotta drive a good distance to find anything worth while
Please head North ASAP to get Orangie!
Sounds like a ground issue or a bad battery. You wouldn't drive 2 hrs on a dead alternator.
You can in a mechanical pumped diesel just need enough dc power to keep the stop solenoid on the diesel pump open to keep the dinosaur juice flowing only needs about 7v so can go until it gets dark or beyond if you have night vision lol
Serendipitous mileage for the odometer to break.
There it is the “ alternator” kind of lick the terminator
