We Christians donʼt have one book written by God, but many books about God, written by prophets, kings, priests and historians. For us, those scriptures are not only mere books, but divinely inspired, meaning that God let the authors write them. But this also means, that other books written in ancient times donʼt have to be part of the Bible. For example, Biblical books mention or quote other stories that were popular at the time they were written. Does this mean that those stories or quotes have to be part of the Bible canon? No! When Allah in the Qurʼan rejects certain teachings of the Jews or Christians, does he, by mentioning them in his book of truth actually confirm them? No! The Bible canon was put together by the Holy Church. @@khanPK2N The finer details of the doctrine of the Trinity may have been invented later, but the component doctrines (that there is one God, that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all God, and that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct from each other) is absolutely found in the Bible. The doctrine clearly evolved out of the Second Temple Jewish concept of the two powers in heaven (which was essentially a two=person version of the Trinity). John's gospel even opens with a passage which directly claims that Jesus is the second of those two powers. The steam/water/ice metaphor is not an accurate representation of the Trinity. That's Modalism, Patrick. Pretty much all analogies (with the possible exception of those coming from Quantum Physics) are deeply flawed in that way. The Incarnation is an entirely separate doctrine from the Trinity. But does have the same feature of not having been fleshed out in the details for a couple of centuries. The main Christian understanding is that Christ's human nature and his divine nature are separate things. But even if we take one of the alternative views that have been proposed, I don't see how it in any way compromises God's transcendence and unlimitedness. If anything, a god like Allah who is incapable of interacting with his creation is far more limited than a God like YHWH who is capable of entering his creation. And your view that salvation is determined on deeds and intention directly contradicts your view that Allah is merciful. If he is merciful, then he must necessarily save some people whose deeds and intentions do not merit salvation. In Christianity we recognise that Jesus was the only person whose deeds and intentions were such that they would merit salvation (but also such that he has no need for it). And we have a mechanism by which God can deal with sinners in a way that is both just and merciful. Islam simply doesn''t have that, so Allah can only have one (or none) of those two attributes.

To be perhaps overly charitable, we could separate the secular historical Jesus[1] from the Jesus[2] as portrayed by Christianity. Then if her first statement was referring to Jesus[2], it'd be much more reasonable for her to be saying _that_ version of Jesus didn't exist historically.

@@khanPK2N The finer details of the doctrine of the Trinity may have been invented later, but the component doctrines (that there is one God, that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all God, and that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct from each other) is absolutely found in the Bible. The doctrine clearly evolved out of the Second Temple Jewish concept of the two powers in heaven (which was essentially a two=person version of the Trinity). John's gospel even opens with a passage which directly claims that Jesus is the second of those two powers.
The steam/water/ice metaphor is not an accurate representation of the Trinity. That's Modalism, Patrick. Pretty much all analogies (with the possible exception of those coming from Quantum Physics) are deeply flawed in that way.
The Incarnation is an entirely separate doctrine from the Trinity. But does have the same feature of not having been fleshed out in the details for a couple of centuries. The main Christian understanding is that Christ's human nature and his divine nature are separate things. But even if we take one of the alternative views that have been proposed, I don't see how it in any way compromises God's transcendence and unlimitedness. If anything, a god like Allah who is incapable of interacting with his creation is far more limited than a God like YHWH who is capable of entering his creation.
And your view that salvation is determined on deeds and intention directly contradicts your view that Allah is merciful. If he is merciful, then he must necessarily save some people whose deeds and intentions do not merit salvation. In Christianity we recognise that Jesus was the only person whose deeds and intentions were such that they would merit salvation (but also such that he has no need for it). And we have a mechanism by which God can deal with sinners in a way that is both just and merciful. Islam simply doesn''t have that, so Allah can only have one (or none) of those two attributes.

One day Allah sends a sign, an animal takes a piss on the idol. The tribal man sees this and rejects the idol- it can't be God but he has no access to any outside knowledge or community. In that situation the rejection of the idol in his heart is enough to enter heaven. What dose Christianity say the tribal man rejected the idol but had noway to accept Jesus as Lord. What will happen to him? Is that justice?
