    Amazing work Cip! This is a great video and look forward to seeing the kit in a bit more action! One question? Does the ecu require a map?

    • @PorscheAddict
      @PorscheAddict  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you, the ecu comes with maps for the specific application. Meaning i develop the maps and settings on a dyno and in real life driving.

    Great video , well done. I am attempting to do the conversion myself however the (Bosch) coolant temp sensor that I got is smaller than the housing from the car. The temp sensor that I got is M12 x 1.5 thread but it looks like the housing is a bit larger (maybe M13 ? ). What Coolant temp sensor have you used that is a direct replacement on the original housing ? Thanks for the help :)

      Hey Reeza,
      Respectfully, i will not give out information or know-how to people that have not purchased the kit because it would not be fair towards the ones that have paid for a kit.
      I went trough all this work that you are doing now when i developed the kit. There are many more other situations like this one to solve.
      The whole point of buying a kit from me is to avoid these situations because i already solved them and tested the system.
      Now you'll have to buy a few more sensors to figure out which one will fit...and then you'll also have the question weather that sensor provides relevant data to your ecu or not and how to integrate the data provided by that sensor into your warmup cycle and general tune.
      What i can tell you is that there is no such thing as M13, good luck with your build.

    Brilliant simple approach to upgrade our 924s! Well done. Is a 944 version in the planning as well? Double this 944 EFI system and you have a 928 EFI as well being two 2,5 lit 944 engines together..)

    • @PorscheAddict

      No plans for the 2.5L so far, i’m doing the 924 turbo version now. After that i’ll likely need a good rest :)

    So I have a question. Are you removing the C.I.S. sensor plate under the big rubber coupler that goes to the air filter housing? Really interested in this as my son just purchased a very clean low mileage 931, but the way it’s running I suspect that the wur needs either rebuilding or replacement, and I’d bet the C.I.S. Fuel Distributor needs to be rebuilt as well without knowing if it has ever been done.
    I imagine the seals are leaking internally and jets are worn or clogged just based on age. Car runs good once warmed up but till then she’s cranky so the wur is getting attention first.

    • @PorscheAddict
      @PorscheAddict  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah the plate is removed, as is the wur and 5th injector and their fuel lines and electrical harness.

    Very nice kit, so I’m guessing this is a batch fire injection with wasted spark setup?

    • @PorscheAddict
      @PorscheAddict  5 месяцев назад +2

      It runs as sequential injection based only on the crank sensor and it uses a coilpack with two coils firing at a time.

    Never mind- I see you removed the sensing plate and left the arm in place.

    • @PorscheAddict
      @PorscheAddict  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, ideally the arm should be removed for better flow, but i was lazy :)

I appreciate all your hard work in keeping these older platforms alive. I feel like the 931/924 doesn’t get the love it deserves. These were great little cars back in the day.
      Even now i feel like they’re far more entertaining to drive than many newer cars but i guess im biased. Nearlyi own is at least 17yrs old or older with exception to my wife’s daily which is 10yrs old now lol

    So question ,,,, If I wanted to do a supercharger and the EFI swap on a standard 924 ,,,,,,, can you adapt this for it ?

    • @PorscheAddict
      @PorscheAddict  3 месяца назад

      They are designed, calibrated and tested to work together. The main purpose of the EFI is to extract the most out of the supercharger setup.

    This looks like what I’m looking for. How do you sense boost? Do you remove aav? Will this be able to cope with intercooler 200 to 220 ish. Thanks

    • @PorscheAddict
      @PorscheAddict  5 месяцев назад +1

      Ecu has a built in map sensor.
      Aav stays in place and the warm up cycle is developed taking that into consideration. It will have no issue for your setup and power target

      First round of kits already went out to friends and some guys willing to be the first testers.
      Its quite the effort to make these kits so i'll probably only be able to make them once per year.
      Next build run is planned for June. If you're interested, go on my website, write me an email and i'll put you on the list.

    With respect, you're wasting time putting off your v8 LS1 swap

    • @PorscheAddict
      @PorscheAddict  5 месяцев назад +7

      Engine swaps are ilegal in most places, that engine swap would also mean the need to upgrade the rest of the car, so its a very expensive and time consuming thing to do. My aim is to evolve the essence of the 924 while keeping its identity, make it reliable and relevant in today's world, not just to hotrod a one off 924.
      And perhaps you missed it, but i'm not just doing this on my car...this is a kit you can get and install yourself within a weekend...and go from a dead car to a pretty nicely running car with a few hours of work.

    • @pederfallbom
      @pederfallbom 2 месяца назад

      Thank you very much for developing parts that keep these wonderful cars on the road and as true Porsches, not hotrods👏👌
