Jon had a unique social experience growing up. On one hand he was a bastard, which in this world is in the lowest rung of the social ladder. You're denied all inheritance and titles. But he was also the son of a Lord who brought him up along with all his legitimate children. This is very rare for a Lord in this world, usually the bastard would just be abandoned. So throughout his childhood Jon was looked down upon by the nobility he was surrounded by, but he also had the privileges that came with being part of that nobility. I think it would be kind of like being an underprivileged kid who got a scholarship to attend an exclusive private school.
Just a tip for syncing: try one person clapping as the other presses play - that way you can just line the show video up with that noise and edit your reaction from there. I notice a fair bit of the time your show clips are ahead of your reaction. Great videos! Thanks for posting your reactions :)
Great reaction guys...i like the 2 episode format. Things are starting to really pick up now, can't wait for you to see where things go from here...it's a wild ride.
25:46 I feel like you need an history course of Game of Thrones (Search for Game of Thrones History and Lore). There is no spoiler but will help you understand the little pieces of history they drop here and there. That's like an hour and half long so, it can be a full react episode. Theon's father tried a rebelion against the Starks and lost. He's the last remaining sons of the Ironborn and kept captive in the Stark's family so they don't rebel again. 27:13 Fun fact: It's the first acting job on tv for Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly 35:50 She has awoken the dragon alright. 38:06 So that you know. Bastards have all a different surname depending of the region they come from. Winterfel is Snow, Dorne is Sand and so on from all seven kingdoms. ps: love the closing.
One of reason why Allister thorne has such a disdain for Jon even though jon is the most capable fighter there is probably because he used to be a targeryn loyalist during Robert's Rebellion and Ned was the one who exiled him to the wall . That would explain he's motivation or maybe he's just an asshole , lol .
" Lord Jon arryn often came to me for advice" and Ned ask him why 🤣 and immediately cuts him off when he's explaining . That sums up that Ned has zero respect for him , lol . It's the same as how Tywin views Pycelle .
I like the both of ya and i'm glad you're doing GOT. I like the attention that you give to each episode, and the the clues and hints of how this fits together. And it is beautifully woven together. I'm glad that you're doing two episodes at a time, now. 'Looking forward to the next time around. Peace -
I’m looking forward to the both of y’all’s reactions! I’m an “A Song of Ice and Fire” series and “Fire and Blood” reader, so I can help give non-spoiler context for certain parts if/when necessary. Also, hope I’m not beating a dead horse, but has the “History and Lore” videos been suggested? They’re worth it. :)
You two are so cute and are following the story pretty well, catching on to clues quickly. Keep the reactions coming!! Do you think you’ll react the Moon Knight or anything else? GOT is a big series to take on and I’m sure you’ll want to be caught up by the time the prequel premieres in August (8/21), so i’m sure taking on another show would be a bit much right now. Only suggestion is to maybe get a good mic so we can hear your commentary a little better. 🙂
As of right now we’re focused on putting out GOT episode’s and once complete watching the prequel. We do hope to add shows to our weekly schedule post, so we appreciate the feedback.
Great reaction. Good idea to do 2 episodes together, you get a better and quicker idea of who's who and what's going on. Have to say your instincts on certain characters are spot on so far, there is a lot of dialogue with GOT and sometimes you'll miss little things that mean a lot but so far apart from Gendry being Roberts bastard son and not John Aran's you're doing great.
Yeah Dany's brother getting whipped by the Dothraki is super entertaining and shit, but don't forget the meat and bones of GoT is in the politicking. The back and forths. Easily, and I mean easily, the best moment of the third episode is when King Robert tells drunk stories about how he caved in the breastplate of a Tarly boy in the Battle of Summerhal and then he asks Jaime what the Mad King said before he died and Jaime replies "burn them all". Or when Joffrey talks to his mother about standing armies and how to subdue the North. These scenes are far superior to any head chopping sword play scenes.
Even though Jamie pushed bran , he wasn't the one who ordered the hit on bran nor was it Cersie , In the books it's implied it was Joffrey because of how poorly it was planned .
Dudes, loving your reactions. I just discovered your channel a few days ago and am binge watching them. One thing you do really well is you know when to be quiet. You would be surprised how many reactors doing this way longer than you haven't mastered that simple skill. To me one thing that is super important is to try and stay consistent as to how often you post. One or two episodes each time is less important to me than releasing something. That being said try not to go more than 2 weeks between releases. I think most people prefer at least one release(1 or 2 episodes) a week but can handle once every 2 weeks but no longer than that. Once it's more than two weeks, I personally start to lose interest. Obviously, real life gets in the way but trying to stay consistent is important. Sadly, people are going to spoil the crap out of this for you. Some just want to be D...K's but most do it accidently. I don't know if this is an option or not but you really need a mod to stop that from happening. Some people even go as far as to stop reading the comments because it gets so bad. That I hate because thats half the fun of it. Others will binge watch an entire season before posting anything but still people will spoil later seasons. I do know that lots of reactors that already did this series often enjoy being mods as well. You might consider reaching out to one of them because if it's a friend that dosn't know the show well, they are bound to miss some spoilers. Anyway, good luck and hope you continue on this journey.
Do two episodes per sitting if that's what the subs want for Episode 1 through 8. but try to do single episodes for the last two episodes of the season, that is episode 9 and 10. the last two of every season deserve single eps!
I think you misunderstood that jamie sent the assassin after bran.she was still complaining about pushing him out the window.as far as the wall goes...jon is being a bit of a right prick acting better than everyone.youll see hes a bit brooding and whiney.
But surely Jaime did send the assassin, that's why she's complaining. They were both complicit in the pushing so she can't complain about that. The dagger is down to Jaime. At least, that's how I always understood this scene.
@@markharris1125 yeah it's a oddly placed and not well explained scene.in the book she is mad about his decision to push bran even though he was trying to avoid a war by doing it.
@@baronhomer1 Oh, it's a while since I read the books so I accept the point. But yes, why is she bringing this up now? I always took it to be about the dagger because the push can't be traced but the assassin or the dagger might be. Still, not the last time D&D will put in a scene that doesn't make sense!
@@markharris1125 it's not Jamie , it was Joffrey . In the books and even the it is shown that Joffrey is incredibly impulsive and irrational , he already said he didn't care about bran and when he got slapped by Tyrion it was enough motivation for him to order the hit on bran . Also it is very poorly planned which is a trademark of Joffrey
@@rahilrameez8635 I do wish they'd explained that in the show, then. All this time I've been thinking it was Jaime. Because of the scene we're discussing. Too long since I read the books.
You probably were so confused with people calling you sweet summer child lmao
loving the reactions!

You guys are doing a great job here - Keep it up!
Loved your reaction to "Oh my sweet summer child..."
The blacksmith Ned went to go visit is the Kings son not Jon Arryn. But great reaction!🔥. You guys take care of yourselves

I have to agree with the History and Lore videos. They add so much context without spoiling anything.
All of your questions will be answered. Your journey has just begun
Little finger is a very interesting character
Best character in the show in my opinion.which is quite a statement for a show with the lannisters in it.
Remember, whatever happens in the next six episodes, this is just season 1. Lots more to come. Looking forward to the next reaction.
heh heh always fun welcoming new addicts to the world of g.o.t.
fun times ahead 😈😈😈😈
Ep 5 & 6 will be your favorite so far. From episode 5 onwards GoT brings the HEAT
Gendry, King Robert's bastard.

Worst advice I've ever read, guys don't listen to her at all.
Just watch Game of Thrones, not any other series.
Moon Knight! wttfff!
