About shutter timer, there is a setting for that. I think it came in an update some time ago. Try keeping the camera firmware up to date. The setting is called save self timer setting.

You're right, a lot of these issues could be addressed in a f/w update. Thing is tho, some of what you're talking about is user preference, I know some that would like it the way it is, for example always taking you to My Menu where hopefully you have configured all the frequent shortcuts you use and binded them here (because if it didn't take you here by default and instead left you in the place you were last in... then it might not be a very useful quick access menu!). But really a simple option in the menu to say 'Leave me in last place' On/Off or whatever would fix that for every user regardless of preference.
And it sounds like other gripes you have would be sorted with a PASM style interface. I love that I can set up Custom Modes 1-7 on the XH2S and have that ability to toggle between even 2-3 modes that are very similar yet differ subtly that allows me to avoid having to do multiple button presses, menu dives or Q access and instead just turn the dial. Retro dials are cool n' all but can be low on functionality as essentially you're locked into a '1 custom mode experience', so changes can become annoying on the fly.
Lucky man tho! I'd love a 50R! Stop whining! 😝😘

Hi, congratulations on the video, really helpful. I am really undecided whether to get the GFX 50R. I am mainly doing portrait photography, outdoors. I've always loved the look of the medium format and now that various models have come out, the 50R can be found used at really attractive prices. I currently have a Sony setup, which is very versatile, performs well as AF, but I feel it lacks a bit of the "magic" and the pleasure of shooting. In your opinion, could the GFX50R be a solution? As optics I would definitely want the equivalent of a 50mm, and I've seen some really beautiful images of the Mitakon 65 1.4...

If its magic your looking for the 50R is a no brainer! Go for the mitakon 65mm or 85mm and i assure you it will be great. I myself tried out sony, sold it after a couple of weeks because image quality was faaaaar to lacking. Cheers!

@@Kaizenoriginal That makes no sense. Current full frame sensors are better than this decade old medium format sensor. A 60MP Sony sensor has more dynamic range and less or the same amount of noise at high ISO. The only thing this sensor has going for it, is Fuji's color science, the slightly nicer bokeh on fast adapted glass and the form factor. But not image quality. It's great, but not "faaaaar better" than modern sensors. I shoot Nikon Z pro and have a 50s with the same sensor for personal work, I'm not making stuff up here.

The issue around returning to the menu and finding it defaulting to MY MENU should be fixed in your next update. I have the new X-T5 with the same menu system and that now takes you to the setting you last used....a great improvement over the previous models. Fingers crosse for you, but they can, and have, tackled this with the X-T5

That sounds great! Hope this is the case i will look into it for sure.

But they have announced the discontinuation of the 50r in 2021.
Now they’re going back and developing a new 50r Mii ??
That is going to be interesting!! 🤩

Will there be a 50rII? This confirmed? Still rangefinder?

the camera has no "sensor shield" aka "shutter" because it is stupid to expose it. less than half a milimeter thick material or 2 -3 milimeter glass. Which is more resistant? That's right, the glass. Which is cheaper to repair? That's right, the glass.

    • @Kaizenoriginal

Well the camera does have a mechanical shutter. They could just shut it when you turn it off so it blocks the sensor.

    I do not like:
    1. The 50R is too expensive.
    2. The RB67 lens adapter is very expensive and is hard to find.
    3. The 50R was discontinued. It is now only available on the used market.
    4. The 50R does not offer custom aspect ratio sizes. I need a 27x36mm 4:3 ratio.
    5. The 33x44mm sensor size is too small. It is only slightly larger than the 24x36 full-frame sensor size.

Why would you put slow and huge RB67 lenses on a sensor barely bigger than full frame? Fujifilm GFX is 4:3 ratio. An even bigger sensor would make it even more expensive. You didn't think this through.

It's crazy to me how much the fuji onboard user interface continuous to suck year after year. They are such expensive cameras.
