I was fortunate to be there in person. I had chills walking in with a live string quartet playing. The anticipation was well met. Dr. Vogels is an outstanding keynote speaker. I left very inspired.
Imagine the "productivity boost" by forcing all your developers through daily commute, including the pollution coming from it, for them to be sitting half the day in Chime calls anyways.
I inspected every aspect of the bag and everything from the stitching to the hardware looked top notch. The leather was soft, the logo embossed precisely, and even the lining felt luxurious. It was hard to believe that this wasn't a kislux LV Nano bag.
Good keynote as usual from the legend (20 years at AWS wow!!). To summarize: Increased complexity over time is inevitable but you can better prepare for it using cloud-native design principles that will help you better accommodate future changes. And of course, AWS-managed services can help reduce the burden!
Breaking systems into smaller units (microservices) introduces new challenges, particularly in monitoring and managing these distributed components effectively. How can we solve this problem?
Not sure if this is more of a problem than a feature. Ideally, the components should be design, or evolved, in a way that can be adapted to new business/tech needs without implicating others that don't require such changes.
Hi AWS, I was there during the shooting of the first bit. I did a scene with the pizza boy, where I had to cry in the toilet and he would come to comfort me, with a pizza. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been included in the keynote video Would it be possible to receive this clip, for my portfolio?
How did AWS accomplish so much in the last year when workers were only going in 3 days a week? Will there be a discount for all the new products since they were created with such a poor culture?

always the best reInvent Keynote
😀 🙌
DSQL and Hardware Clocks definitely are important milestones in distributed computing history.

That intro just felt exactly like the comedy show "silicon valley" :-D Love it btw

Wasn’t Spanner using clocks with bounds as early as 2012? :)
"Evolvability" used to be known as extensibility.
Where the part about being in the office 5 times a week else you can’t get anything working ?

The attempt to copy Silicon Valley is cringe, illogical and poorly made. Stick to what you do reasonably well.
