  • Once the wildfire is stopped, the risk to some communities remains. Watershed Emergency Response Teams are tasked with assessing potential hazards - including debris flow -- before the rainy season. CAL FIRE works alongside the California Geological Survey and California Department of Water Resources to perform this vital work.

Never seen catapults used in wild fire to fling bails of fire retardant around the periphery of housing developments to slow wildfire. Catapult mounted on a rotating 360 degree turntable on the chassis of a converted power company truck with outriggers, might work. Smartphone activated blasting cap might be needed to explode bail 100 feet above target. Daily Mail YT channel shows "IDF use flaming trebuchet to launch.." Semi trailer full of bails following catapult could saturate a neighborhood quickly with fire retardant.
