      @@TheRumblewagon Siege of Mandalore is just four episodes and still a part of the worst clone wars season to DATE. That is inenviable, which sucks cuz those last four episodes are great.
      The season overall was wasted potential, Andor has been consistent with its writing from the first to last episodes thus making its overall writing far superior as a season versus the clone wars season 7.

    • @CornyBum
      @CornyBum Год назад +1

      @@koolerman4443 Look, all we got from lord123j's comment that pertains here is "best piece." There's no reason (yet) to disqualify animation nor a reason to judge alternates only by the season if it's from a series. Why dismiss a four-episode story arc for arbitrary reasons, when you can still hold your opinion and enjoy an argument based on each example's own merits? If you go ahead and say why _Andor's_ writing was better than those four _Clone Wars_ episodes unified by a story arc/event, that sounds interesting. Might even be a better comparison if you pick one of _Andor's_ three-episode arcs instead, but arguing that a "best piece of Star Wars writing" _has_ to be by the season's worth when it comes to shows is not as interesting, in my opinion.

      Same. Im thinking the gorman massacre and mon leaving the senate and formally instating the Alliance as an absolutely critical piece of the story that builds on characters we are already following. I cant unfortunately think of many others that would fit, except maybe establishing the base on Yavin and bringing all the cells together. ANH alluded to Scarif as the first major victory so I cant think of how many events were critically important to the story of the Alliance. But I trust we are gonna get S grade drama especially since Gilroy is gonna take Saw from S1 Andor to Rogue1 level of paranoia.

You can feel Gilroy really takes it seriously and puts out the best he can for the final product, and that he actually pays attention for things to make sense in the story instead of just throwing notorious moments there for the sake of fan service. They feel earned and they are a consequence of good storytelling.

    When I first saw first two episodes I was skeptical that they could do such a good job. But it just kept getting better and better. It’s genuinely incredible tv. Should be in top 50 tv of all time list.

    Star Wars doesn't need a corpo formula of what is "supposed" to be Star Wars to the fans.
    It just needs good writing.

    Andor is the most meaningful Star Wars thing I have seen in ages and I didn't know wanted it until it was bouncing around my eyeballs. The Empire was a cartoony evil, a bunch of bumbling sycophants jockeying for position. They way Gilroy and his cast and crew were able to realize it was jaw-dropping. Stoked for season 2.
    I doubt Tony has ever seen the direct effect of his work like this. He looks genuinely bemused by the number of people and the attention. He is an amazing filmmaker and I feel lucky that he is working on Star Wars again. Michael Clayton is one of my favorite films, and no slight to Gareth Edwards because I love Rogue One, but after Andor Ssn1 I fantasize about what Tony would have done with it.
