The season overall was wasted potential, Andor has been consistent with its writing from the first to last episodes thus making its overall writing far superior as a season versus the clone wars season 7.

Natural sets that don't feel claustrophobic like Obi Wan or Boba, side characters have a role to play and each of them is important to the narrative, it fleshes out the 19 year gap better than anything before it, and it has the best star wars politics since the Darth Plagueis book. No "adventure of the week" vibes, no gratuitous cameos, and the effects are actually good. If you have the time do yourself a favor, trust.
Yep, same. I still might not find Andor to be the most captivating character in his own show, but his journey has shown me some very compelling characters and really interesting glimpses into the _Star Wars_ universe, haha.
Same here, after the khm...well after Obi-Wan I've arrived with 0 expectations and this show knocked me off my chair. I've watched Narcos and Rouge One so I know Diego is a great actor so no surprises there but then they started showing world class actors alongside him playing characters written so well I was blown away. Such layered and nuanced writing given to actors who can really work the material the way it was supposed to...I cant tell how much it surprised me. In my opinion this show is right up there with the best of the SW and thats a really high praise from me.
The amazing thing about Andor is its rewatchability. I've rewatched it probably 3x and picked up on stuff in the dialogue i missed the first time around, mulled longer on things knowing the trajectory the show goes in.

I also have to say, I was never a star wars fan, my younger brother however is a Diehard fan and he told me, you gotta see Andor, see Andor man, have you seen Andor yet? Just to shut him up I sat down to watch the first episode, ten~eleven hours later I had gone to the toilet, grabbed some snacks and drinks and sat down to see Rogue One! That's a testament to the quality of this show. So far this year its my favorite show!
At first, I was reluctant to watch another series that fills in backstory, even though everyone was talking about how good it was. I already know what happens to that character, so I didn't bother. Finally caved in and watched. It. was. fantastic. The dialogue was so well written--jaw-dropping at times--the acting was amazing, the sets, the story, the music, all of it. THANK YOU to everyone who worked on this.

Andor the show was logical, emotional, powerful, and fantastic. It's a writing masterclass set in the Star Wars universe. Season two is going to be intense based on the hints we've gotten. Just hearing Tony speak about canon and events make me extremely excited for season two.
Same. Im thinking the gorman massacre and mon leaving the senate and formally instating the Alliance as an absolutely critical piece of the story that builds on characters we are already following. I cant unfortunately think of many others that would fit, except maybe establishing the base on Yavin and bringing all the cells together. ANH alluded to Scarif as the first major victory so I cant think of how many events were critically important to the story of the Alliance. But I trust we are gonna get S grade drama especially since Gilroy is gonna take Saw from S1 Andor to Rogue1 level of paranoia.
From this interview you can feel the authenticity and legitimacy of these men's natural talent. You can feel Gilroy really takes it seriously and puts out the best he can for the final product, and that he actually pays attention for things to make sense in the story instead of just throwing notorious moments there for the sake of fan service. They feel earned and they are a consequence of good storytelling. Edit: also I'm Brazilian and I don't speak one bit of Spanish though I can understand it thoroughly and my heart warmed up when Diego sent his greetings to Latin America at the end. I usually don't feel represented by this kind of thing but I thought that was very nice.
Now that Disney discovered Andor went from the most unnecessary to one of the best Star Wars materials recently produced, they might focus more on this show's "political correctness", if you know what I mean. I will truly miss Sergeant Mosk's Earth swears in Star Wars, too.
I know everyone agree that Keanu Reeves is our lord and savior, however, can we all agree that Diego Luna is his little brother? Impossible to hate that man, when he busted out the Spanish you can see the love on his face. Man, he is soo good. ❤

This is what storytelling is all about. I loved this series it was utterly captivating and wasn’t going for cliches and tropes, the cast and the writing. Pure luxury. I’m so happy to see them humbled by this. It’s a lot of hard work ❤

Saw Guerrera continuously riding the brink of madness was palpable in the first season. Incredible writing and delivery by those involved. So floored at the quality of this show compared to its peer group.

It was inevitable that the fandom for Andor would build up despite the not so shiny release. It's a masterpiece. Gilroy and all involved deserve all the recognition. Superb acting, cinematography, writing, the whole deal. Maybe some will bash me for it, but imo its the best written piece of live-action SW ever, as much as I love the original trilogy. I've lost count of how many times i've rewatched dialogues and monologues from Andor. More than anything (when it comes to writing/dialogue) from other SW related shows/movies combined.
As weird as it feels to place the writing quality of a star wars project beside The Wire since it's some of the best writing of any medium I've experienced, Andor is so good that I have no other tv show to compare it to except The Wire. I have to start talking about books and mediums other than film to find its peers. The amount of world texture and the palpable emotional reality is just wonderful. It feels like a novel.
Andor will be talked about for years and years. It will keep building a following these next year and a half. Boba Fett and Kenobi will be forgotten in a few months.

You might have to rely on cameos and sher spectacle to attract audiences, but to truly engage and connect with them the story have to show the human (or alien if it's the case) aspect of the conflicts within the characters. That's the heart of the story, not the blasters and lightsabers.

Glad Tony Gilroy’s getting the writing love he deserves. Michael Clayton is outstandingly written and his character focus he brought to Andor is a pure example of why his approach to respecting the intelligence, emotion and moral complexity of the characters drives the events of the plot and the stakes naturally. Not to mention his ability to craft memorable, linguistically fluid monologues is second to none. Can’t wait for season 2 :)
When I first saw first two episodes I was skeptical that they could do such a good job. But it just kept getting better and better. It’s genuinely incredible tv. Should be in top 50 tv of all time list.
Andor is the most meaningful Star Wars thing I have seen in ages and I didn't know wanted it until it was bouncing around my eyeballs. The Empire was a cartoony evil, a bunch of bumbling sycophants jockeying for position. They way Gilroy and his cast and crew were able to realize it was jaw-dropping. Stoked for season 2. I doubt Tony has ever seen the direct effect of his work like this. He looks genuinely bemused by the number of people and the attention. He is an amazing filmmaker and I feel lucky that he is working on Star Wars again. Michael Clayton is one of my favorite films, and no slight to Gareth Edwards because I love Rogue One, but after Andor Ssn1 I fantasize about what Tony would have done with it.

I'm not actually certain you Star Wars people are aware that Andor is superior in almost every level to all other Star Wars shows. You should absolutely acknowledge it.
I was skeptical about Season 1, once I saw the trailer I was like this show is going to surprise people. I cannot wait to see season 2, Andor is one of my favorite SW content out there.
An Andor confused me but as soon as I read the synopsis, I was won over. A lot of people still seem to be hung up about the show being about a “nobody” from a spin-off movie, but I knew from the beginning that it would be more than that. Even I was surprised at how massive this show would end up being.

Best Star Wars show so far 🔥 looking forward the second season 🔥
Andor is the most meaningful Star Wars thing I have seen in ages and I didn't know wanted it until it was bouncing around my eyeballs. The Empire was a cartoony evil, a bunch of bumbling sycophants jockeying for position. They way Gilroy and his cast and crew were able to realize it was jaw-dropping. Stoked for season 2.
I doubt Tony has ever seen the direct effect of his work like this. He looks genuinely bemused by the number of people and the attention. He is an amazing filmmaker and I feel lucky that he is working on Star Wars again. Michael Clayton is one of my favorite films, and no slight to Gareth Edwards because I love Rogue One, but after Andor Ssn1 I fantasize about what Tony would have done with it.

You are lucky if you work in something that cares and impact in many people and being aware of that is also special.
Gilroy is one of the true GOATs.

I was skeptical about Season 1, once I saw the trailer I was like this show is going to surprise people. I cannot wait to see season 2, Andor is one of my favorite SW content out there.
An Andor confused me but as soon as I read the synopsis, I was won over. A lot of people still seem to be hung up about the show being about a “nobody” from a spin-off movie, but I knew from the beginning that it would be more than that. Even I was surprised at how massive this show would end up being.
Diego comes across as so sweet & kind.
