@@Chonkey949 What the fuck
I'd say best star wars period then Rogue One and Empire.
best star wars content in the history of the franchise. periodt.
And _The Mandalorian_ has had some great moments. I've enjoyed it a lot. But _Andor_ is up on a different level.
The best Star Wars Disney plus show by far hands down. Mando is great in a visual and action heavy kinda way, but this just elevates with its dialogue, themes, and its fantastic screenplay!
Usually interviewers gaslight celebs, but in this case I 1,000% endorse his sentiment. This show has been leaps and bounds beyond my expectations
yeah its weird cuz i imagine the actors think they're saying the same shit to every show (which they often do), but ik many of the Star Wars youtubers when they say it, they really do mean it
@@GuineaPigEveryday it's so true. Nobody hates star wars more than Star Wars fans. So when a star wars fan praises your work, you've nailed it.
Andor’s quality is on a completely different level from any other Star Wars project I’ve ever seen. I still love my other SW movies and shows as well, but this show just transports and immerses you in a way the others don’t.
Pulls you into this world.
Because it's cyberpunk.
holy god this show is so fucking good this far
This show needs to win many Emmy’s.
After the visual shots and the straight attention to detail. It deserves it.
Genevieve O'Reilly, Denise Gough and Fiona Shaw making up a talented Irish contingent of women in this superb show.
I do like that this show evokes the original trilogy in that the imperials are often British and the rebels often American or non-British for that matter, not absolutely but it is noticeable, and I find it funny that the two rich Chandrilan's posing as simple imperial citizens, who are secretly rebels are also both Irish. Dedra Meero ofc isn't, but also the main rebels and oppositionists are composed of Indian, Mexican actors too. The Aldhani team also has a British-Irish person, and another American actor. Whereas all the imperials are often blindingly British types just like the original trilogy.
@@GuineaPigEveryday Dedra Meero is played by Denise Gough, who is Irish, if that's what you meant?
This series mines deep into British imperial history (Aldhani was filmed in the Scottish Highlands, so in-show reference to highland clearances was a matter of real local history), so Irish, Scottish (Diego Luna is half-Scot) and Indian representation is apposite.
Also note that their are different classes of British accent. The Imperials are typically RP, associated with upper classes, whereas the workers in Ferrix like Braso have working class accents.
Tiocfaidh ar la
PIRA gangsters can get in the sea.
@@GuineaPigEveryday Being on the other end of discrimination in film is often and unsavory feeling all the "others" you mentioned have had to endure for scores of decade. Even in the Kenobi series with the formidable character who was a woman and who was Black - ugh being told repeatedly throughout the series that she was from the "gutter" and came from nothing - what tired tropes. The "Arab-looking" boy who sought revenge on the Empire intricately shown at the last episode of Andor, building a bomb - how exhausting for audiences who have been this minority in film to constantly be forced to reactivate these tired stereotypes. So--- "we know how you feel" - it's exhausting to be portrayed on screen collectively as kind of negative or ill-equipped or even less-than and this is just a taste of it for you...
Diego Luna is so precious!! He must be protected at all costs😍
Him and Cavil should get married.
There's something always of nice riding with Diego as a protagonist - his quiet, vulnerable resilience - it' just unique from our "brash and noble" heroes in American style story. His approach is humble but steadfast, and present and salt of the earth.
Best Star Wars show ever!
By a mile!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I can't believe that the two major female characters in Andor are played by Irish actresses, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough! ☘What a great show it is.
Fiona Shaw as well
I really gotta hand it to the actors on this show, and by extension those writing and directing them. I love Genevieve's take on acting in SW and the fans. She was cast for Mon largely because she looks so much like the prior actress, yet has she proven herself more than worthy of the role. The grace and subtlety with which she handles Mon is amazing. I've also been extremely impressed with Denise as well. Haven't seen any of her live action work before, but man is Dedra such a cold, calculating, and intimidating character. Entirely different person to the one you see sitting in the interview. Everyone else has been great too, but those two especially just rose out of relative obscurity into commanding performances here.
This show is proper!!!
It is exactly how I've imagined it would be, it's perfect.
For me it is exactly what i hoped/dreamed this series could be. Didn't think we would ever see something like this in star wars. Am glad this series excists.
It is perfect indeed
“Andor” is Star Wars perfection!!!
Mando is great fun but Andor is next level work. It has truly amazing acting and writing with full size sets and lots of on location stuff that makes everything look and feel real.
The best star wars show. Andor forever
That goddamned droid made me cry in the last episode.
Don't worry, Im with you too Buddy
@@batmandalorian5504 Brasso is so kind. I almost didn't want him to fight so he wouldn't have to hurt anyone.
🤣🤣 me too.
Me too! When he asked Andor's friend to stay I started crying out of nowhere!
What makes me happy here is seeing the actors expressing their joy about this show. You can tell that they really enjoy being on the set and that they appreciate the director, the sets and the whole aesthetic.
I don't remember the last time I eagerly waited for the next episode of a show, but Andor has me wishing it was Wednesday everyday
Best writing and acting so far. It needs so many Emmys.
Genevieve O’Reilly...Wow. Stunning!
I think Disney has discovered how to make Star Wars work for them. Be original, leave the old characters behind, grow the universe. Mando, Andor, Rogue One, these were and are their best so far and they share that in common, for the most part.
Denise Gough and her facial and neck muscles needs to win an award!!
Well, that's a hot take 🔥
Genevieve O'Reilly is amazing, and she gets it. She looks like a Queen, or some sort of Royalty.
Diego seems like such a genuine guy, cant wait to see more of him!
Diego is so likable and humble!!!!
My favorite Star Wars THING since Empire Strikes Back. This show was so carefully and thoughtfully done. I love it.
This show is truly great!!
The imperial security lady(sorry, forgot her name) is so gravitacional, i was hypnotized whenever she was on screen
Dedra Meero
@@boaz6346 that’s it! Thank you
This gentleman once brought me a glass of wine to replace the one that had destroyed my white shirt at a SW Celebration. I spent my early childhood in Mexico and god love my parents who gave the gift of a second language. He was amazed and we had a brief and everlasting chat. I have waited 43 years for this astonishing series, and it is more than I had ever wished for (and insisted existed). I spent an hour sobbing on the 23rd. I felt as though I had lost my mother all over again. Beinvenidos, Cassian, Te Amor mucho.
Best Star Wars!!! Rogue 1 and Andor are up with ESB in quality and depth. I love this show!
That is so true with Syril. Syril is obsessed with Cassian. Cassian is not particularily aware of Syril. So, you might even argue that the show is about Syril reflecting on the crossroads where Cassian is merely an externalization of the inner conflict. Cassian is like the unruly rascal that the well mannered kid is looking to for reasons he does not quite comprehend himself.
Syril clearly has an internal compass in that he wants the authoritarian model to work "as intended" rather than as a platform for corruption and personal ambition. Even though he consistently faces superiors who has long ago dropped such pretense.
I think Syril could easily be a rebel, but not in its ragtag presentation in its simple beginnings.
Nice analysis!
This show is flying under the radar. This is a great show and probably in my opinion the best StarWars show.
This is the Star Wars we needed! More, More, MORE!
I can tell you Rogue One fixed so many unanswered questions about the "in betweens and unknowns" about the Star Wars Universe that it re-energized me. A feeling I had not felt since Empire Strikes Back. And for that Andor builds Rogue One even greater. Absolutely the best One - Two punch the SW prequels needed to make a story complete going into New Hope. Absolutely fantastic writing/creative and acting by everyone !
I totally endorse the first statement from the interviewer - this series is one of the best shows I have ever viewed. I feel what is at stake through excellent dialogue and acting and the casting is spot on. Each actor is believable as the character they portray. To paraphrase Forest Whitaker - let's call it great.
These actors are so damn lucky to be apart of this star wars project. There is a reason I liked Rogue One so much over the other Star wars films and Andor is what I've always wanted in a Star Wars film instead of constantly playing it safe. Anything else will not be as good in contrast anymore.
I absolutely love this show!
I agree, this show has surpassed my expectations and it has been one of the best directed Star Wars shows up there with episodes 4,5 movies. Tony Gilroy deserves some recognition and an award of some type for Andor. I just hope Disney is listening to the great praise this show is getting from us fans. I hope more Star Wars content is written like Andor in the future…. 👍🏻
after the 1st 2 episodes i was really impressed, but once I watched episode 3 and it all started to come together it then got on another level....
great series and really well put together ....
finally disney obviously started to listen to the fans...
Jumbo and then Episode 10 exploded across the screen...... and my hair stood up and I cried at how awesome it was.....then I rewatched it like 50 times
@@okedoke1234 😂😂😂
It is the best thing since Rogue One for sure. It is the best Disney Plus Star Wars for sure. I love it.
If this stellar series does not garner Golden Globe, SAG, & Emmy nods & wins, then I don't know what it's takes? I'm a fan of "The Crown" series and "Andor" matches in meticulous writing & character development, breathe-taking direction/ cinematography, brilliantly - believable performances by the cast. Kudos. Now on to the awards. 👏
Love Diego Luna and Andor, but to me, the best part of the show has been the rest of the cast. Particularly Dedra, Mon and Qyburn from GoT
Andor is so different to all star wars films and series
Can't believe how good this show is after so many lies. This is the way, Disney, this level of writing.
too long done the dark path we were
The irony if it all that it took removing the jedi to finally make a really good Star Wars Tv Series lol.
Growing up reading old republic Star Wars comics and playing the games Andor is literally how I always pictured the galaxy far far away when it wasn’t about the Jedi. Very ruthless, dark, political but still full of hope at the same time
Awesome interviews, not seen one yet with all the principal actors. Have absolutely loved this show, it moves Star Wars TV shows into a whole new level of excellence. Us SW fans won't accept anything less now, this has to be the gold standard for all future shows. Thanks for posting.
"Rebellions are built on hope."
I absolutely love The Mandalorian.
And I absolutely love Andor. My brother is a big fan of the former, not so much the latter.
I don't see why we can't have our Man With No Name/mysterious bounty hunter-themed show, and also this gem of a new show, done so well and with so much love.
The Star Wars universe is just all the richer for having both these shows-and I think the Ahsoka show could be amazing too; really looking forward to that.
I love the cast of Andor. They are incredible
Andor looks like the most interesting Star Wars stuff we´re getting now.
Best Star Wars since Empire for me.
Wow. Really enjoyed hearing and seeing the actors in this way, thank you. All were impressive, but my favorite is Mon.
Andor is neck and neck with the Mandalorian. The only problem with Mando is that there were filler episodes where Andor had none. Each episode of Andor was it's own masterpiece. I love the fact that the parts that Andor was making in the prison was for the Death Star in which Andor is killed by it in Rogue One. Andor helped create what killed him. Andor deserves more praise than what's receiving.
Andor feels like a true longform narrative. Mando is cool, but Andor feels so much more mature.
I'm a big fan of Denise too I really want to see her character with the guy that saved her really come into something cool I really think we can explore and have some really good personal relationship from the Dark Side
She played that part perfectly! She had you hating her existence and that was perfect.
I have a crush on mon mothma
thx for this show !! I loved it ! thank you ! We need more of this type of series !!! thx to everybody involved !
Wow. Look at this comment section. Says it all. Andor is exceptional.
I just love everything about Andor. I have become perfectly enchanted with Rogue One, the only one I actually allowed into the Star Wars Saga of my understanding.Since I have always thought that a) the story, b) the characters and their development; is improtant I feel only Star Wars episodes 1-6 and Rogue One and Andor live up to it. I am so happy about this. Thank you all for making it possible! I have been a fan for decades, yes, 36 years now!
Seems like a cast that is overflowing with humility, refreshing in today's day and age.
All Of the main characters have great writing behind them huge fan of everyone of this project thank you thank you Star Wars fan all my life thank you
Haha, I so agree with Denise on “Syril doesn’t want to join the Rebellion because he likes everything being clean and tidy and the rebels are not tidy enough” 😂 I could relate. I realize now that I love the Imperial esthetics and don’t like all about the Rebels just because the Empire is clean and uptight and the Rebels are so diverse and, well, dirty 😅
Yeah, don''t mind a few genocides here and there if the floor is clean... right?
I am happy for them that they got the good writers and directors!
These days it seems hit or miss for the actors. And unfortunately it reflects bad on them more often than it does on those responsible.
This show made me have a deeper appreciation for Rogue One. I look forward to watching the 2nd season. Easily the best star wars disney plus series followed by the Mandalorian.
The level of intricate detail in backgrounds and environments is mind blowing. This is the best Star Wars spin off ever.
Best decision Star Wars has made since the Mandalorian and this actor everything I've seen him in well done I'm a fan and I hope there's more to come with Andor cuz season 1 was amazing
Amazing show
Incredible story, writing, acting, sets, everything
Thank you Diego & creator, I’m really happy for all of you, and I’m happy with the product. Thanks!
Agreed..Best starwars series. Just when you thought you couldn t watch starwars without jedi and sith this series comes along and proves other wise.
Thanks, nice to get to know these people better
This show is so good that it makes the original trilogy and Rogue One even better (as the Clone Wars series did with Ep. III).
Is it possible that one day they'll make a show that has that same effect on the sequel trilogy?
The best show of 2022 hands down! Denise Gough just edges it for me for best acting she is one bad ass! Roll on season 2 of Andor I can't wait!
I´m so happy for Diego, I really hope this show to be good, already so hyped!
Yes, I have been following his career for years. So happy for his success.
It's not, it's blows
@@eerievibes6854 Still saying the same thing after Episode 6?
@@powerfultoa7 That would mean I'd have to watch more than 5 minutes of episode 1 garbage. So no, I haven't seen it.
@@eerievibes6854 Seems like you dont have patience for storytelling then, because I can tell you Episode 6's visuals/plot is up there with the very best Star Wars has to offer. Don't miss out
I was so excited when I found out they were doing the Andor series. I was not let down. This has been a fabulous Star Wars series. I do love Kenobi though, because Vader is the man, absolutely. I still LOVE Andor.
I love the story, everybody come from somewhere.
want more of this.
Denise's (Dedra's) comment about their characters joining the Imperials because of their aversion to dirt was classic!
the one thing that bothers me about Star Wars overall is how their rush every thing.
Andor should be allowed to breathe a little more and give it three seasons instead of two -and done.
Writer Beau Willimon is great at layering a series and making it flower across a longer timeline - that's what should be done in this series as well.
When is Luthen's story going to be told? We need a solid story based right on Coruscant, There's so much more to unpack and learn with Dedra's nemesis on her staff and his spy "dealings" as well.
More would be nice, but I'd rather have them ride off into the sunset, leaving us wanting more like Bill Watterson than overstay their welcome
@@peterstedman6140 originally it once was planned to produce 5 seasons (each covering the same amount of time with jumps till the exact beginning of rogue one) - but didnt happened sadly.
These are Capital A actors. So unrecognizable in their voices and mannerisms from the characters they play.
Boom! EXACTLY what I was thinking. They delivered a clinic on the art of acting. Nothing was mailed in!
The beast Star war ever since the first 3
I totally agree! An excellent job!
This show made the world of Star Wars real. And that's a great start ...
Genevieve is such a captivating actress, I was so impressed with her performances throughout Andor!
Greatest series of all time
Like Andor, I feel these interviews were too short... Great dramatic series, great actors who I want to know more about.
We love you, Diego
Andor easily became the best executed SW of all time in terms of writing, directing, acting, dialogues etc.. And the best SW since ESB/ROTS - while trying something completly new in the franchise
Its of course a slower paced espionage thriller instead a fast space-western, far more grounded, darker and filled with grey layers than the other shows and touches its own audience with this - so i can understand its not everybody's (SW) taste and not every future SW show needs to go down this direction - But the overall quality of the work by all involved people set the bar (not only for SW) very very high. I really hoped after all the other Disney shows - Andor would be the try to do something darker and more serious - and it was far more delivered than expected.
Andor is some very special show which i will remember for a while.
😍😍🤩🤩 the cast is top, they are all wonderful actors
Rogue One was my fav Star Wars movie. Andor is my fav Star Wars series.
These are the people who saved Star Wars from humdrum for me. I've not been so excited about a Star Wars production since the original trilogy.
Great Show
I just miss Felicity Jones character in this corner of star wars
Maybe season 2 will follow Saw and we can see Felicity return for when she was staying with Saw, I have to rewatch rogue again tho so my timeline isn’t messed up
@@eclipped wouldnt wonder me if Saw gets his action next season. In Rogue One he has this breathing tool, mechanical foot/legs and it said he caused big trouble for the alliance. I already love how they turned season 1 and luthen into one reason he became so paranoid and crazy :D
11:57. You did. Thankyou and to all.
I have a huge crush on Genevieve's accent !
i have a crush on genevieve ! And her accent also
SAMEE😂♥️
Moira!
You might not know these faces but I guarantee after you watch you won't forget
Really appreciated all the sets and location shooting.
Not sure what the point of Cyril's character is (other than to show the banality of Imperial bureaucracy) but I'm sure he will matter in the next season.
Love Mandalorian. But this is a master class in writing storytelling and creativity
Diego has done a fantastic job!
Best show of SW in many years
I am in LOVE with Geneveive O'Reilly!
Stop saying that this is the Best Star Wars on Disney+, Start saying it is the Best Star Wars ever
Masterpiece!!
Great series
