in this case, he is not helping himself. he refused to identify himself by name and by association to the incident. he said he doesn't want to press charges. clearly he just wanted it to go away or he was afraid of the abuser's uncle, who was identified by the abuser as a cop. he also is clearly simping for her. they arrested her and he started saying things like that's not how you touch her.

That's what happens when drugs and alcohol are prevalent in the home growing up and used in relationships. Morals don't exist. Trust is impossible. Substance use almost always leads to substance addiction and abuse, and this is the result. One great, almost foolproof way to prevent dishonesty, disloyalty, and mistreatment in relationships modern day is to obstain from alcohol and drug use COMPLETELY.

Excuse this NOVEL of a post please....
As a young man I was with a girl who had severe mood swings, and if I ever made even (what I believed were kind and well meaning remarks ) one remark about benefiting from speaking to a professional about it- and no I am not paraphrasing I was not yelling at her that she is crazy- she would go BALLISTIC on me. She would roll up rugs and throw them at me or lock me into one room in the house so I couldnt go beyond the livingroom (or use the bathroom, bedroom or get to anywhere else except to leave the apartment for half a day at a time...) and other things. Well I was young and she was older- at an age when this mattered as I met her at 17 and she was 23, by the time it all melted down we were living together and I had just turned 19. She was going ballistic as usual because I sat down on the sofa in dirty pants or I had done something else wrong- there was a list of things that could get me in this predicament and so outside the dirty pants I am sure she would read you a huge list of other wrongs I'd committed and I gave her some choice words and left the apartment to take a walk and to be honest I probably cried over it. I come back and about ONE minute after I did the police showed up, the story goes her MOTHER who she was on the phone with called the police based on whatever her daughter said- and they were there to remove me from the property as I was apparently back- after being told to leave (not how it happened but maybe how her mother put it , said I was gone, but when they arrived I was there). Anyway they arrested me . This was a Friday night. They put 1000 dollars bond on me which I could not afford and they blocked my home number from being able to be called (there was a phone IN the holding cell, not just one phone call- but you could only call collect) - she was the only one with access to my money and I had no way to get ahold of her. I sat there until mid morning monday, was brought to the court house and released on my own - on foot. I was given a court date and when I showed up, my girlfriend had sent letters and everything else apparently, saying she didnt know I was being arrested thought they were just "making me leave" (yeah... cops are your personal servants ... right) and that I'd done nothing..
Ok so crisis averted? No.... the court decided to have me "mentally evaluated" to see if I needed anger management. So here is what happened next.
I go to the therapists office- and he has my WHOLE file, hes done research on my family basically.
He knows who my father is and that my father died when I was a boy, about 9 years old.
So he brings up my father and asks how I felt about that. I said it was sad... I teared up. We didnt talk about much else. SO he sends his report to the court.
The issue is the court was only looking for YES or NO answer "Do I need anger management" and the therapist wrote....
"Could benefit from speaking to male councilor" because he had to give his 2 cents. Because he wrote ANYTHING at all- Oh I got to speak to someone all right
6 months of self-paid anger management which was basically a one -way ticket to living on ramen for half a year thanks to the cost of like near 100 bucks a week.
Oh. PS. as a mention- years later the same girl was diagnosed with bipolar, she reached out to me and apologized. Gee.. thanks for nothing.

A lot of victims are afraid to press charges. Leaving is scary because it's statistically the most dangerous part. And having the cops treat him like a joke certainly wasn't helping.

I don’t think she actually beat him up, he just didn’t fight back because of the financial ramifications, or the prospect of not getting a job because of a police record. So he probably just stood there and screamed at her while she hit and scratched. In any case, the cop was still an asshole to the guy.

You're attacked, harmed and don't respond physically, because you're responsible person and know that this chick would stand no chance against a man's punch. You allowed her to hit you, just because she is unstable and you are. That's very grown up and responsible human for me.

I believe that she may have just visited that drug dealer that she said she used to date. She went through the entire female manipulation series to insult the cops.
