Crazy that Michigan was 50/1 odds to win it all AFTER getting to the CFP last year.
Somehow OSU got all the credit pre-season even after losing to Michigan.
That's how it always is.
Same thing with Uga and Bama. We win the NC and instantly all we hear is how Bama is gonna win it all next year. Yet here we are and they aint even in the playoff... 😂😂😂
It really was understandable. Michigan lost quite a bit from 2021 but what couldn't be properly measured was the determination and solidarity in the locker room.
Prior to beating them in 2021, we lost 15 of 16, so there's still work to do to overcome that particular trend.
@@kale6772 yeah that BLEW my mind! I always thought UGA should be number 1 until someone beats them. They are the reigning defending championship. I'm glad it's UGA and not Bama.
Watching this in hindsight and honestly a pretty spot on analysis and close to what we actually saw, except it was Michigan chasing the Frogs all game.
TCU stopped Michigan. All glory to The Hypnotoad 🎉

Letting Michigan run the ball means they will be ahead of the chains and a very manageable 3rd down. OSU sold out to stop the run and got burned when there was no safety help (pass or run). Then they tried to play Michigan normally in the 3rd quarter and gave up an 8 minute drive.
That's called balance which Michigan has in spades
Yup the longest running drive Ohio gave up all year.
Michigan only drove down field on OSU 2 times. All of Michigan's big plays were because of Ohio state mistakes. That's why I laugh when people say Michigan destroyed Ohio state. Michigan will get smacked in the mouth if they play Ohio state in the natty. Mark my words.
@@justanaveragedude409 okay Copius Maximus… I’m sure you said the same thing the whole last year after 42-27 and look what happened. OSU was outscored 28-3 in the second half. That’s getting destroyed. How do you know Michigan doesn’t drive the field on the five other times they scored from 45+ yards out? OSU had all year to prepare and Knowles knew he had to sell out to have any chance of stopping the run game. That left OSU susceptible to huge plays and that’s exactly what happened. OSU played scared on defense because they knew they couldn’t stop Michigan’s run game straight up so they loaded the box and paid for it.
@@justanaveragedude409 that is some extreme denial you're in, my guy.
The weak spot is TCU defense. I do think TCU will be able to hit a few big plays early as Michigan will come out in a shell...Michigan allows team to move the ball early and as the game moves forward they slowly start to take away what you thought you had.
The 2nd half it will be extremely difficult to stop Michigan on the ground. Obviously anything can happen it just rarely does in these playoff games....when there's 4 weeks to prepare I'll take Harbaugh
I’m a TCU fan and i’m much much more worried about our offense. The defense has game planned and adjusted in game well all year
We’ve been terrible offensively in the first half in nearly every game late in the year except Iowa State
@@WalterFlanagin just like michigan, been pretty bad every first half but come out and beat the hell out of you in the second half
well this comment sure aged like fine wine, how’s the 2 pick-sixes for week defense? 😂😂
I remember corum after losing to georgia immediately leaving the field saying we’ll be back . Sucks he can’t play verse tcu
Actually there’s a picture or him JJ and a few lineman standing on the edge of the field watching Georgia celebrate. It’s a great picture. Just needs “soon” on it, or “we will be back”.
Saw it on Reddit a few weeks ago
Georgia will be back as well.
@@chopper9170 we’ll yeah that’s obvious lol Georgia isn’t going anywhere for a while. They’ll be in the top 4 for the next 5/10 years if Kirby stays there that long

Love seeing everyone sleeping on TCU in the comments. Hope the carter boys are seeing this because we play better when we get slept on. Michigan's team is more solid all around and their O line is ridiculous but if they get comfortable they will pay for it dearly.
Nice.. and balanced, well done.
Honestly as a tcu fan that crazy happy with the season I think as long as tcu plays hard and plays clean football I think it’s going to be a close game would love a tcu win but will still be happy if it’s a good game but anything could happen

Go FROGS! TCU vs Georgia 😁
There is genuinely zero chance in my mind that 2021 Cincinnati, at the start of their season, had a better chance to win the NC than TCU did at the start of this year.
TCU 51 little blue michigan 45.
Surfing these comments it's apparent Michigan thinks very highly of themselves. You'd think they'd have more humility after the beat down Georgia put on them. This whole psychology of we beat the buckeyes so we can beat everyone.
There's always a chance you'll blow out the frogs but you really don't have any reason to think that based on this season's performance. Who has blown them out? The suggestion here is that no one in the big 12 is even competitive? Stop that. Just stop it. It's not a good look Michigan fans.
The frogs are fast and physical. They've beat teams more talented than them. But the x factor is their heart. The heart tcu plays with is a sight to behold and if you aren't taking it seriously you're a fool.
I think the venue matters in this one. I think it's somewhat of a factor in tcu's favor. I'm getting that 2011 rosebowl vibe.
I'm going to harken to that. 21-19 frogs over Michigan.
It's easy to see hypnotoad's powers of delusion already encompassing the Michigan Wolverines.
I think the big question for this game is whether the WRs for either team create separation. If that happens then whomever does more often, provided JJ plays like he did against OSU, will likely come out the winner
i agree with you abou tthe experince factor. it is huge. almost every team that played in the playoffs the very first time pretty much all got bullied no matter how much they talked the talk of not lokoing past it or we are confident. you can see in the body langauges and teh way michgan handles things this year. all eyar. they are not just happy to be here. and they are not looking past a good team that everyone thinks they are. . also, michigan has gotten better and agaisnt better teams as time went on towards the end TCU has been very solid all eyar but they don't look any better or wrse then they did all season at least that i know of looking at scores.
nice PFP
Sounds a lot like what you said before the frogs played UT! Guess we’ll see!
It’s been said a lot this season that tcu wasn’t going to win and that they are just on a lucky streak and I’m going to be honest if you watch the k state game (not taking way from k state ) but tcu beat themselves it’s amazing they almost came back after multiple big mistakes that k state took advantage of I feel like tcu can step up and win this game like they have most of the season
People prob thinking blowout but we get a shootout or a in the trench like battle that’s low scoring till the fourth.
I think this guy is mistaken. This is Donovan Edwards' second season with UofM so, he couldn't have been talking about him on national signing day last year.
Maybe 2 years ago though.
I knew I liked you, Josh...Go Blue!
We’re still waiting for Tuck to come.

Stupid. Won 11 games last year and won a NY6 after having losing seasons the last few years
been routing against us all year heard this vs baylor and vs texas don’t be suprised when tcu upsets you again.
Go Blue!! 💛💙
One year later, Michigan vs. Washington has a similar feel to it
I saw what KSU defensive line did to TCUs Oline and it was bad. And KSU Oline held TCUs Dline in check. Michigan is going to do the same.
That was TCU’s 11th straight game without a bye and I think they were all exhausted/banged up. The time off changed that.
The big 12 is such a good conference that oklahoma and texas are trying to speed up their departure
I think everyone left in the Big XII is speeding up UT OU departure. Bye Felecia!
TCU loves the underdog role. The Frogs hope the Wolverines are looking ahead to play Georgia or Ohio State. If that happens, TCU could pull off the upset.
Michigan fans need to understand that TCU carries the hopes of the new-look (without UT/OU after 2024) Big XII into Saturday’s playoff game. Those in the new-look Big XII Conference see their conference as good or better than both the B1G and the SEC.
The game will be decided up front. Who will control the line of scrimmage?
I know its gonna be Georgia vs Michigan for the natty. But can u imagine an Ohio state Michigan Natty game. Would be classic
FACT'S
Georgia vs TCU put your money on it, this is a odd year in college football.
To bad Ohio State and Michigan are both overrated
YIKES
I know. I know. Wait what do you know. You don’t know squat.
Michigan 31-20. Go Blue!
Nope, here's your sign
TCU won 12 games by being just a bit better than their opponents, I don't mean to downplay that because that is not easy to do. they are focused and well coached. They beat Kansas because couldn't make a final play. TCU had 5 wins when the opposing starter was injured and the backup had to come in cold. They beat Baylor on a fire drill FG. Still, I don't think TCU wins as Michigan is obviously far better than we all thought.
lol
"Just a bit better" than Michigan still means you're pretty damn good.
@@blackosprey2219 Yes! TCU was better than Michigan and pretty good. Good luck against UGA, I will not be as dismissive as I was with Michigan.
idk Michigan's red zone defense is good
Michigan's red zone defense is elite, held Purdue to 5 field goals in Big-10 championship. OSU only scored one field goal in the second half against them as well.
Josh Pate, trivia question for you: Which team, Michigan or TCU, is in the top 10 winningest programs since ‘2000? (Hint: it’s not Michigan)
What team is in the top 2 winningest teams in 2022? Hint it’s not TCU
@@carlmustard4841 sweet. Only brought that up because he said Michigan is a blue blood program and TCU is new to the party when in the last 20 years that’s not been the case
@@collin6857 Well Michigan had their worst stint ever under Rich Rod and ya'll played in the ... Conference USA and Mountain West for over a decade... yeah that'll skew the data lol
@@Conorj398 just saying TCU is not some 1 hit wonder. They’ve finished in the top 10 in the country 6 times in the last 12 years.
@@collin6857 He's not saying they're one hit wonders lol. But Michigan is a blue blood and TCU is not, that's fact. 12 years is a very arbitrary timetable that I'm sure is chosen to benefit TCU. Michigan has been consistently better recently and has been extremely dominate the past two years. Let's use since the CFPs inception since that makes much more sense. Michigan has been top 10 four times, TCU two. Dude is not disrespecting you, TCU has been really good and is really good, but Michigan has been better recently and historically. You can carve out little pockets of time if you want to feel better, but that's what it is.
It’s crazy that people say TCU will get crushed when TCU play in a Conference from TOP to BOTTOM that all the sports analysts say is one of the best conferences in the nation. Big 10 only have 3 or 4 teams that’s good. When you look at the big 12 you have to come and play every game.
The big 12 had a down year.
And lose big 12 championship
@@DIRTYWIZARD713 big12 was the best conference in football this year except maybe the sec east. The sec west was dogshit
. However, I think this game is more of a tossup and the spread indicates. It’s just so hard to know how the chemistry these two teams got affect one another. I do think this will be a hotspot game up until the fourth quarter. I think it’s more question of will Michigan our last TCU than anything else.
That's bold
I will take a great defense over a great offense 100/100 times.
Me too. And TCU has the best offense & Defense. Michigan is bigger & has the accolades & awards (based on history). But TCUs lines are stronger and faster. You can not beat stronger & faster. You just get out of the way.
That a baby, Go blue 〽️
Purple Baylor gets blown out by Michigan.
Well, @Dirtywizard713, better luck next year! Maybe by then you will have learned that bragging works a lot better AFTER you win the game!
Should be a great game. TCU won’t roll over and capitulate like so many opponents that they’ve played save Maryland and Illinois. Michigan wins. But it will be a ballgame. They’re playing a team that believes in each other. That matters.
Michigan believes in each other, that matters

38-28 Michigan, game for the ages Go Blue
If TCU holds Michigan under 200 yards on the ground they have stopped Michigan.
If Michigan’s running games goes off there won’t be many 3rd downs for TCU to win.
Michigan has been passing it a lot more since Corum got hurt. For example, Michigan had 2 rushing yards and 220 passing yards in the first half. In the second half, it was 50 passing yards and 200+ rushing yards
GO FROGS
What will big 10 do? ACC no teams in Natty when ND and Clemson got in. SEC vs SEC both times 2 teams got in. Doubt All big 10 natty

Oh ye of little faith.
Family is a season ticket holder for Michigan. Can't take TCU for granted. They can beat you if you don't play your game. TCU will have to have a 14 point lead at half to have a chance.
Which they did unfortunately - it was Michigan's game , but they gave up too much too early and didn't convert when they had a chance.
Michigan 42
Tcu 33
I think it's close early on then in the 2nd half Michigan goes up big, tcu tries to battle back but comes up short.
Not a bad overall prediction. Seems about right.
Michigan fan here and I see the exact same thing . I wouldn’t be surprised if tcu is winning at half by a field goal as well . Michigan loves to play a close game till the second half for some reason .
I don’t see it being that high scoring. These are good defenses that have a lot of time to game plan
@@WalterFlanagin I don't think Michigan has given up 30 all year, don't see it happening with TCU.
TCU does too. Who is going to cover Quentin Johnson?
I put a buck on TCU and the Ravens back in August to win $2,300.
Put $5 bucks on TCU and win more.
Big upset tcu walks Michigan by 2td’s
TCU’s only chance is to force field goals and turnovers and Michigan doesn’t turn the ball over often
TCU will definitely get a lot of yardage; however, they will have a very difficult time scoring TDs in the red zone
TCU forced several
@@SMichaelDeHart he got 2 pick sixes and two turnover on the 1 yd line (and a turnover on downs off a terrible play call)
@@trowwzers5057 it was enough to pull out the win.
@@SMichaelDeHart people on Reddit on the Michigan forum are complaining about the officiating; but the refs made more favorable calls to Michigan (except the targeting call at the end). For the Roman Wilson catch, the ball never crossed the plane despite his butt touching the end zone
No excuses for Michigan to lose to TCU. TCU played really well in run defense and they forced turnovers when necessary. Good job to them and I hope they win it all
Funky town USA TCU all the way
TCU can load up the box they will suffer the same fate as OSU. They need to concede some rushing yards and play zone/hope to outscore M. That's their realistic path to victory

If you aren't beating Michigan by at least 14 at halftime, you have already lost.

Playoff games aren’t usually that high scoring
You are wrong - my mind began working right after USC got blown out by Utah for a "Little Sisters of the Poor" game - TCU vs Ohio State playoff game. (If you don't get the reference, search for "TCU 2011 Ohio State Billboard Prank"). Even I wouldn't favor TCU over Michigan, but I think they match up well and would not be surprised if TCU won. I am much less optimistic about Ohio States chances of beating Georgia, but stranger things have happened. For me that would be the magical end to a magical season.
Texas O-line is not nearly as good as michigans and they don’t run as many power formations as Michigan. Two completely different run styles
Michigan ain't texas
Well they played like them
TCU covers and wins. Georgis blows out Ohio State. Georgia vs TCU!
We have a case of a big fish in a big pond facing a huge fish in a small pond here. The average Big 12 team proved objectively better than the B1G's average in the regular season, but its playoff representative wasn't as dominant.
It's no secret how lopsided the B1G is, but it can't be understated how bad teams 4-14 are relative to the P5. Their cross-conference record was nearly as poor as the Pac-12's, went 0-2 to weak Big 12 teams, and the only victory of any note was PSU's blowout at Auburn. Michigan had the luxury of bullying its way through a weak conference until they took OSU to the woodshed on the road. That last game consequently gave us a glimpse of Michigan's ceiling when they are most prepared and their playoff roster is relatively healthy.
The Big 12, on the other hand, is a monster. It is usually a power scaling enigma due to schedule obligations, but this year's data suggests that the Big 12 is the most competitive, possibly strongest conference from top to bottom in college football. Top conference record for 2021 P5 bowls and cross-conference games (7-3) this year, and two of those losses (UT-AL and WV-Pitt) help its relative strength. Hell, its worst team beat a bowl eligible Iowa and basically stopped winning when its conference schedule started. Every single Big 12 team has performed above P5 average and each teams' middling records are a testament to conference balance. I think Penn State would lose 4-5 games in the Big 12, and Michigan/OSU both lose at least 1.
And then you consider TCU. This team ran the gauntlet and defeated every single "monster of the week", even outplaying Alabama against a common opponent on the same field with fewer handicaps and similar stakes. They finally hit their limit at the end of the most grueling schedule among playoff contenders, but we haven't seen their ceiling when rested and well prepared.
Michigan is the known quantity here. They have the edge in experience and depth, but I suspect TCU's ceiling is actually higher than Michigan's. I think TCU pulls the upset if they shake off the nerves and play on all cylinders. As Josh said, this is why we play the game.
There isn't a team in the big 12 that would beat Penn Sate. TCU lucked past Baylor. No defense in the 12
@@MarkSmith-sk2yx it's easy to say that when a team isn't consistently having to play in high gear weekly. PSU folded both times it faced the only challenging teams in the B1G. Now imagine if they played 9 mini-OSUs straight. They are bound to lose a few of them.
TCU has a Swiss cheese defense that has ZERO chance yo stand up to an offensive line like Michigan. Wolverines are going to score at will and also early unlike some of their other games this season. Will not be surprised if UM puts 50 on them.
I hope you didn't bet on that game

I think big 12 teams have the advantage when games become shootouts, and that's what happened last night. And like you said, TCU needed a big lead going into halftime, Michigan outscored TCU 39-30 in the second half.
Excellent video. I think TCU is a better version of Purdue. Michigan beat Purdue 43 -22. Aidan O'Connell was 32 out of 47 for 366 yards with no touchdowns and 2 interceptions. But Aidan is NOT a running quarterback like Max Duggan. Charlie Jones caught 13 passes for 162 yards. I believe Quentin Johnson is a better receiver than Charlie Jones and will be a challenge for Michigan. Quentin Johnson is 6-4 and has very good speed.
Texas had 5 sacks against TCU and put pressure on Max Duggan. Texas held TCU to 124 rushing yards and 159 passing yards and 17 points. I believe that a good defensive rush combined with a strong defensive secondary will be the key to the game for Michigan. Michigan will also need a strong red zone defense to hold TCU to field goals. And JJ is going to have to perform well against a good TCU defensive secondary. TCU is going to try to stop the run. Texas had only 28 yards against TCU.
Michigan is not texas
