Can you use a show line amstaff for protection work?
Also are they good for protection?
It is very variable, some of them can be good dog for this goal. If the puppy has good prey instinct it is a good sign. But these breeds a little bit late maturing so it can appear when the dog become 6-8 month old.

Thanks your kind words. Now I don't hold courses. I hold some private training and dog school every week in Hungary.
@@dogbusiness aha! I been in contact with Ginger's Way Kennel as I been looking for a puppy... Now their dog did not get pregnant this time around but in the future I might go to Hungary for three months if the right puppy comes around. Maybe we can talk more later in about courses if I happen to be lucky to purchase a puppy from them. 😊

Honesty I haven't got a correct short answer because it is not a simply thing. It has so many aspect but I believe not accident that the malinois, german and dutch shepherd have a highest performance on the protection work championships.
Amstaff and pitbull came from same background but nowadays they already have a different function and character. Stronger in what? For that breeds you can find several type of race: weight pulling, tug of war, treadmill, wall climbing, long jump. Approximately which for what: Weight pulling - > power of the body, tug of war -> the bite strong, treadmill - stamina, wall climbing/long jump -> the springs.

That's more pitbull terrier than An Amstaff. It's got a much lighter frame than a Staffy. Either that, or it's just a very young AmStaff that hasn't filled out yet. Either way, I'd love to have a bully by my side.
Steve he is an amstaff with FCI pedigree. But it is true: less than two years old and he come from working line kennel. I like this more athletic type like a pit. Bully totaly different not my field. Good luck for your plan!
@@dogbusiness Ok, so he's just a youngen. He's gonna look much more intimidating when he starts to fill out over the next year...And I already have a protection trained Staffy named K.O. who's been with me for over a decade now. His bones are old, but his spirit, strength, heart and will power are just as strong now as they were 10 years ago. Which is why I wouldn't have any other dog by my side to protect me.

@@promn2627 where he born the breeding target is amstaff for sport and this is not the only one example. Mainly the amstaff isn't a working dog it is true. But nowadays I see more breeder who has sport goals. I see your point but this is the trend and this dog made for sport.
woow you two below have no idea what you are talking about, by breed standard he conforms well, hes an athletic worked dog. Not a selectively bred bully style pedigree Am staff that I own.
