As a Perth boy, traveled down to Dwellingup area many times with mates, great memories - but I don't ever remember that much water, very much the opposite! Now I'm over east, got my own Patrol and explore the southern highland forests and reserves. Great channel mate, subscribed.
I’m quite the same mate! After many years of exploring and visiting the area, I’ve never seen it so full. It’s a real treat. Appreciate your comment and your support mate, thank you very much.
I love Dwellingup and Lane Poole. Thanks Matt for sharing these awesome sights with us. I've never seen that much water there. Went to Bells Rapids a few weeks ago and it was much the same. Gotta love the rain to replenish the land! 👍
No crap mate, it's crazy. Was at muddy landing a couple weeks ago and the water was at the 1.6m mark above the concrete bridge at night. Then in the morning it was above the 2m and above the depth sign. We were camped down at muddy flat and the water kept rising so had to camp near the road at the entrance to the track! The fire we had the previous night was covered in water. Insane!
Just got a new sub ! Good video mate, and totally agree about the fees we have to pay and the lack of road maintenance is getting done. Past the easy nomad spots !
Was on that very road, and at that very spot last weekend. Have some fantastic footage of the river like I have never seen. Its mother nature at its finest! Another great vid mate.
Wow I understand the feeling!! The Avon River has broken its banks also because of the rain in July and I am looking forward to going and having a look in the coming weeks. I have a connection to it because I lived there most of my life
I loved this so much! We once rode 9.7km down a flooded creek just like that in inner tubes, probably the stupidest thing I've ever done. Seeing this stuff in full swing is just amazing, head back in a few weeks and you'll get to see how high all the debris got.
Mate, that would’ve been sooo much fun! Yeah man from what I’ve seen it’s already dropped around a meter in just the last week! I’ll get back soon and see it.
Yeah beauty Matt, thanks for the show... can you recommend a good camp spot that isn't flooded so as to see the river. Two weeks and I'll be there. Cheers
Thanks mate. There are a few options for you, there is Nanga Campsite, which is “first in best spot” camping. And then there are some sites that you book, being Charlie’s Flats, Tony’s Bend and Yaragil. They can be quite hard to book as they get busy though. And there is also Baden Powell which is nice large newish site. Well worth jumping on the DPAW website and type in these spots for a look.
As a Canadian, the concept of the bush coming to life in winter is utterly alien, but beyond appealing, especially given how long our winters tend to be. Still hoping to make it to your gorgeous, eternal summer home once this covid bs finally settles!
Yeah mate our Aussie climates and flora rely on our big wets, it’s a beautiful thing! I hope to see you make it over! COVID has well and truly killed the party for long enough now.
Great vid, cheers for sharing, even North mole is a bit special at the moment, the river shitty browns are taking up massive area at the mouth of the harbour
Having seen the 2011-13 floods in SEQ up close. I share your, I guess feeling of awe, it's amazing to see so much water flowing in the rivers. Knowing what they normally look like
It's hard to describe. But it's so easy to tell your passion for being in the bush from the way you speak mate. It's like your heart is talking. One day I'll make a trek from Melbourne and visit that glorious region and flip a steak every 6 seconds over Jarrah. Good on ya Matt.
Thanks mate, that’s great to hear I appreciate it very much 🙏🏻 I hope you can make it over and see these beautiful forests, you’ll enjoy that steak I promise you that 🤤😜
Great video buddy, absolutely amazing the amount of water this winter, the council spent all its bloody money on the painting at the dam so none left to look after the roads 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I've noticed that many of the names over there in WA end in 'UP', maybe you could educate us east coast lads in a vid about this, maybe even other indigenous WA things. Your passion for history and your story telling don't got unnoticed.
I live in the bush, in a place lots like this but in the USA.( THEY CHARGE YOU MONEY to visit theses places! Wow) About every few years in the winter or spring time, we also have flooding just like this. Have to do some crazy navigating to get around during them times. I'm a bit like you, i always love to get out and see it and explore around. as always good video mate!! yall be safe.
I feel your anger with road maintenance... same here in NSW.. too many overpaid shiny arses in charge.. National Parks have a clear agenda to keep people out. Tracks locked out, roads unmaintained, lack of facilities & ridiculous fees.
thank you for share very video in Western Australia as one in eastern Australia call Murray River
Had floods there in the 80s when i was a teen. My family out yhat way n Boddington
Wow!!😮 Been here a few times. Never seen it like this!! Love it👍
Bumped into your channel, nice 👌..
Thanks mate!
Thanks for that. Awesome.

@@westralianoffroad I'm definitely looking forward to experiencing a winter that doesn't hurt my face, & won't kill me within 5 minutes! haha

You needed your fire pit going & a light tune in the back ground as you sat down, river flowing behind you to : Waltzing Matilda...
I agree! That’s exactly what I needed! Real shame I couldn’t stay out for the night.
