  • so far the laptop is great. Ram is soldered with 1 expansion slot, there is also an extra m.2.
Baulder's Gate 3 is the current thing. With DLSS on I get 100-130 FPS on ultra. 80-90 with it off. My custome cooled 1080ti setup struggles to get 60 on ultra and has very bad stutters for comparison.

I nearly dented up the aluminium by using pry tools - you are the only video I've seen that says NOT to use tools and it worked! Thank you!

Just got the AMD version of this w/ a 4060. Can't wait to check it out. Best overall machine this year IMO. Looked at one at BBY before, so nice. Already got a 2nd Dimm in the mail as well. Time to replace my trusty Legion 7 Gen6 (10750/2070S)

I bought a refurbished AMD version of the Gen 8 and am having a really tough time getting the damn thing open. Yours just came apart easily? I’m jealous.

    Hi,
I want to add an additonal ssd to mine. Does the back cover already has thermal padding for that?

@@WPIManiacMagic 1:46 I can see some kind of padding. Are that the thermal pads for SSD?

Why is it that the spec for the 13th gen i7 handles a memory speed up to 5200MHz, but in this laptop, the soldiered RAM is running at 5600MHz? SO... if you buy another 16GB stick, which should you choose? 5200 or 5600? The soldiered timings are CL42. I have two Crucial sticks... One is 5200MHz with CL42 timing, the other is 5600MHz with CL46 timing...?

I'm not quite sure. After a while of looking I went with this a.co/d/25IHYjL and it has worked well!
I got these results after entering the following into command prompt - MemoryChip get MemoryType, Name, Capacity, Configuredclockspeed, DeviceLocator, FormFactor, Manufacturer, Serialnumber, Speed
Capacity ConfiguredClockSpeed DeviceLocator FormFactor Manufacturer MemoryType Name SerialNumber Speed
      17179869184 5200 Controller0-ChannelA-DIMM0 12 Crucial Technology 0 Physical Memory E7FD661E 5600
      17179869184 5200 Controller1-ChannelA 12 Samsung 0 Physical Memory 00000000 5600
I also posted a video on how to unlock the advanced bios for this laptop, but I haven't played with anything RAM related there.

if the soldered mem is 5600mhz, go with anoth 5600, not 5200 stick.
