One of the best moments of my life. Went from buying hot chocolate in Q1 just to keep my hands warm, to taking my coat off because we were SWEATING from jumping around so much. I'm a born-again Husker who married into the religion, and let me tell you - there is not a single feeling on earth that compares to that night, surrounded by 90,000 of your best friends, getting down to DJ Kool. My. Gawd. GO BIG RED!
Thanks Kayleigh!! Unfortunately I believe that it may be a while before we have a great moment like that again. If you like Husker Football now, you would have thought you were in Heaven 20 years ago. I was so blessed to play when I did. The media coverage and fame that we brought to Lincoln was indescribable. There were many times that I felt like a Hollywood Star with the press chasing us around. There were ESPN trucks with big satellites sticking up in the air all the time mostly at the stadium. You would often times run into some of the famous anchors. One time I remember I had just watched Lee Corso on Sports Center that morning and I met him in one of the hall ways in the west stadium. I did a double take because I knew he couldn't be in two places at once, so I went over and started talking to him. He had just flown in on a private jet from Connecticut. I thought that was pretty cool at that time. The players were recognized much easier when they were out and about around Lincoln. I felt like a movie star walking through the mall with kids and some adults flocking around me for autographs and pictures. Back then we had just signed a contract with Adidas and there was very little Husker apparel of the Adidas brand so we were identified quickly and they gave us so many things to wear. Other than jeans, I honestly did not buy any clothes, shoes, gloves, sun glasses, luggage, jewelry, watches, back packs, blankets, and several other things for 10 years after I graduated.
Y'know what's awesome? You'd go to any other Big 10 team with a record like ours this year and the seats would be a quarter to half empty. NE faithful turn up, pack the stands with red in 47 degree temps, and stay the entire frickin' game. You won't get that anywhere.
A couple things I loved about this video: 1.) I was fascinated by McMullen on the sidelines. He had a half second of celebration, and the rest of the time was focus. He was gathering up the fellow defenders and getting them ready for one more series. He's caught a lot of crap this year, but I was really impressed. 2.) THE BALL CAME RIGHT TO YOU ON THE LAST PLAY!
+Patrick Janssen Pretty observant. That's a lot like me. I know! If I had it to do over again, I would have dropped my phone and caught (or at least tried to catch the ball) and then picked my phone up with the ball in my hand and handed it to the official (or maybe kept it). That would have been neater than watching it sail over my head. The other thing that I would have done is to go out onto the field immediately after and tried to get some player interviews/interaction and gone over by Coach Riley getting interviewed by ESPN. Would look cool to see a side by side clip of my camera and ESPN's.
Great Video Bryce, really captured the moment. Really happy for the 15 recruits that go to experience this as well. Feel sorry for any other schools that go after them....who could compete with this game and atmosphere!?!? Big ups to the fans that stayed to the end and got to see it live.....perfect example why you NEVER LEAVE EARLY..... GO BIG RED !!! To the fans that complained about the "rap music" music after the game.....really.....I mean really.....
+Devin Tyler Y U so salty, bro? Might I remind you of the biggest dumb luck strike of the season in your game against U of M? You guys got out played big time in that game and should have lost by at least 10 points. But you, know bullshit strikes at unknown and random times, right? 39-38 Nebraska and 38-0 Alabama. See ya next season.
+Devin Tyler Another video came out after with a straight line perspective from the stands, something not shown on tv, where the defender clearly had his hand on Reilly while he went out. by defenition of description, that's leading him out of bounds which is considered the same thing as forcing a player out according to the rule book. You should look for that video. Correct call was made.
Thank-you for that post! Nearly brought me to tears (well, actually it did). Great team effort, great crowd, great game! There is no place like Nebraska!
SO AWESOME MAN! Hands down the coolest thing I have seen all season, felt like I was there even know over a 1000 miles away. Well done! What a win, what a celebration!
The best part about this game is most of our recruits were attending. So they got a good taste of the power of Husker crowd and support. That's why Riley had a good offseason. GO BIG RED! Loudest and craziest game I've ever been too!
Thank you and Thank God you had the presence of mind to record it. Had the worst happened, you could delete it anyway. Cool moment from a perspective most never think of recording from. Go Big Red!
Awesome video, thanks for posting it! I was at the game and this brought all the emotion back again. GO BIG RED! (NOTE: Can you imagine how wild it would have been if 15k fans hadn't left when we were down by 12? All this noise was made by a non-full house!)
Eagle027 I stated in a different comment, that was a bad call, yes. But, everyone before the game, including a few Nebraska fans I saw, said that Michigan State was going to kick the Cornhusker's asses... And you know? It could have very well happened, but, it didn't. Nebraska put up a big enough fight to stay in the game, and eventually, karma hit State, because they didn't put them out as soon as possible.
hunterb89 Any game with National repercussions should not end up in the raf's hands. Instant reply should have fixed that, it didn't. I'm not a MSU fan, I'm an honest football fan. I went to OSU.
+Eagle027 38-33, the opening line was -6, dropped to -5.5 for most of the week, dropped to -4.5 on Friday night. Nebraska had already covered the spread without the TD, or with it.
+David Moore I thought about dropping my camera and catching it. I'm fairly certain that I could have. Have a lot of regrets about what I should have done while filming. I easily could have gone out and filmed Coach Riley being interviewed by ESPN. But, oh well. I was very blessed to get what I got!!!!!
Probably best you didn't though. They don't officially stop the clock until it touches something out of bounds, so if you had prevented that last second from ticking off and they hit the last play, you'd be feeling pretty bad. I mean, I think it would have been over anyways, but don't take that risk when they have the ball.
+David Moore Wow! I never thought of it that way. I just slow motioned several different angles of that play and had I caught it, they would have got one more play......thankfully that didn't happen.
I love how the croud dances with the team. My favorite thing is also, Nebraska fans would rather cheer their team off the field than leave when the game was over to beat the traffic. There is no place like Nebraska.
Well, Dalton, the price is a hefty one. It cost me 5 years of my life, dedicating my heart and soul through blood, sweat, and tears for the Husker Football program. I sacrificed thousands of hours of my time as well as my body getting beat up day after day. All this time could have been spent partying, hanging out with friends, spending time with my family, traveling during the summer (Just because school isn't in session, doesn't mean that we get a break. Summer conditioning was the most grueling workouts that I've ever done in my life.), going on vacation with my family, or just relaxing and taking it easy.
We are lucky, the ref called it this way and that this call's premise wasn't review-able or we'd be 3-7. Nebraska deserves a better coach (than coach Riley) that understands that you need some sort of running game to manage clock., which is why Coach Riley has lost so many games this year and throughout his career. I remember coach Riley when he coached the Chargers here in San Diego and went 1-15, losing 10 of those games in the waning seconds, because he had no running game and couldn't manage clock without one-sound familiar? Riley thinks he's going to be the first football coach in history to win without any running game at all. Unlike Jim Harbaugh and Urban Meyer who designed systems to best exploit their team's talent, coach Riley tries to make the players change to adapt to his system. Notice any difference between the success of Harbaugh and Meyer and Riley, who was 58-63 lifetime in the Pac-12 conference games? Nebraska deserves a better coach that wouldn't intentionally ignore Coach Osbourne's advice to him to develop some kind of running game. Good luck with your one-dimension al approach to football. It has allowed you to always under-perform your talent and to have a lifetime losing conference record 58-63 in the Pac-12.
Awful call...how do the so called "rules" allow for this type of chit to happen ???? Great for Nebraska Fans of course...but in all fairness, this was just horrible to watch. Throw away instant replay if the Rules are not going to be followed.

How do you even get there or even get seats over there? so many questions
Hey Dalton, I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
how did you end up getting there? How does one get seats in that area, that close to the action? Price on it?
Well, Dalton, the price is a hefty one. It cost me 5 years of my life, dedicating my heart and soul through blood, sweat, and tears for the Husker Football program. I sacrificed thousands of hours of my time as well as my body getting beat up day after day. Colhoon was super close to intercepting that. Bout near had a sassa.
