- I'm naming this version uncut, because for some unknown reason most of the DVD releases used a version of the song with a missing lyric towards the end. This is the complete version from the dolls cassette along with some additional instrumentals. Don't know how that happened. I'm not entirely satisfied with this, but due to the limited sources I had for this song, this is the best I could do.

There is video of Britta Phillips singing this song live from a few years ago. Sounds just like she did when she was 19.
Can we all agree that the classic 80’s cartoon is better than the movie?!?! This show is literally amazing in ways I feel like the movie cannot fulfill for me 😤

This sounds like a bridge between the two versions. I can here the Jem girls one kind of fade into this song in the beginning and maybe transition into the jnstrumental before the original theme at the end.
either way, Britta Philips' vocals are killing it. She doesn't sing like this in all the indie rock groups she's in, and that's a damn shame.
It is a shame she doesn't sing like this the indie punk groups would love to have her be in their gigs
I loved the show intro where the Misfits try to interrupt her and she shoves them aside, like: "Puhlease, bitches! This is my show." 😂🤣

Britta Phillips was singing the hell outta them songs. Wish she would have had a bigger career than she did.
Another singer who never made it was Lisa Lougheed. Remember the song from the show "The Raccoons"? It was called "Run with us." That song as well as Jem's intro song have been stuck in my head for over 30 years! Those were truly among the clearest memories of my childhood.

They need to use this music in the upcoming movie but from what I've read the only thing that makes it Jem is just the name. It should be set in the 80s and it's not.

Cool. I've never heard that missing bit at the end before. And along with your Music Is Magic edit, this features the only version of this song I've heard with a clean out that doesn't have hastily-faded-down applause at the end. Keep up the good work.
It's basically the version from the doll cassette. This had the complete lyrics. I extracted the instrumental from the DVD and 'created' the missing part from scratch.

CD77it Compare it to other versions. The whole part where she sings 'a fantasy' is not included in any of the DVD versions. I had to create that part of the instrumental from other parts of the song.

CD77it I did. I just overlayed the extracted instrumental from the DVD and replaced the missing part.

When Jem was originally shown they had the Origin Movie Cartoon split up into 15 min segments, with other cartoons to fill in a half hour. So all those songs were about a minute or shorter. When they were picked up for a series they had to add some time to make 4 full half hours. So they edited the songs to make them longer. I guess when they edited this song together they left out the "A Fantasy Ahaha" line... Probably just some quick editing to get it out. You can tell where the REPEAT lyrics seem to not flow properly when slip in...

I knew there was another lyric in there somewhere. It always sounded like they edited something at the end. As far as I can remember, it was always that way. The editing was off beat and sloppy. Never understood why they did it. Maybe when they animated it, they left out a couple of measures and it was discovered too late. So they ended up just editing the song to fit the animation. The kids will never notice. :)

rilokyle Well technically there is no longer version than this. It's from the original doll cassette. This is the original length of the song. I could create a longer version of it, but it would just be a repeat of the lyrics.

Aspects are used in the original intro not the one used later on, you know the one with the words 'its truely, truely outrageous, truely truely truely outrageous' in it

rob jackson It actually has the direct lyrics in. I think you took what they said way to literally. Maybe they meant 'they used the actual lyrics in the into' if that's what they said then its true. They used the exact chorus lyrics.
