In my opinion their new sound is too shallow and waaay too POP'y. They are starting so sound like a bland mediocre pop band. And this is coming from a person who loves their stuff and wishes to like the new stuff too. But just can't.... sadly. It's like eating plain sugar. Too sweet and plain boring. :(

I can totally get that opinion based off some of the songs from Broken Machine, but I feel like with their new EP and based on this upcoming album they’ve really been coming into their own. As much as I adore their first album, it has a lot of muse-y sound and it feels like they’ve been moving away from that and defining themselves more as they’ve been releasing new music. Btw, I’ve also been here since their first album! I remember hearing trip switch on the radio years and years ago and I’ve been a huge fan ever since
This band has carried me through some truly awful times, their music does not stop getting better

I don't know whether it's just me, but I interpret this song almost as if it's directed at one's self - almost like an internal mental struggle of figuring your own stuff out. I love it - they're sounding huge as ever.

When quarantine started, I had a feeling that something happened regarding Conor's personal life. Now these lyrics confirm my theory. Beautiful song, but so fucking sad for him if I'm right...
I'd rather say - because the song was most probably written in 2019 - that the relationship was falling apart during the process of writing. But yes, he admitted in recent interview that he's not with his long-time girlfriend anymore.

Guys -- You probably don't remember me. My two sons and I came to see you in Atlanta a few years back. We took a pic with you after the show. I introduced us as the family band (I, the singer; my two sons, guitarist and drummer).
Anyway, this song -- "Real Love Song" -- is the most powerful music I have heard since hearing U2's "With or Without You" the day The Joshua Tree was released! I listened to your song nine times back to back -- one less than I did "With or Without You" (sorry)!
I am grateful to have met you, seen you in concert with my boys (twice), and have you around to continue inspiring me to write my own music (especially during this time)!

I've had Amsterdam and I'm Not Made By Design on my phone for so long. They are some of my favorite songs and it was only yesterday I thought "hey why don't I see if they have any other good songs".
