He was actually one of my high school band directors back in the late 70’s/early 80’s at Norwell in NE Indiana. Even then, he wrote fantastic arrangements for us … pretty impressive guy!

Okay, this is totally random, but I had a dream last night that I was seeing The Blue Devils live, but my seat was really bad, behind a fence and somehow below the surface of the stadium so I could barely see anything. Also the stadium was filled with more audience seating, so The Blue Devils kind of had to perform around them, making the view even worse.

why do you add black bars on the top and bottom? why not change the resolution to be shorter/wider? it'd allow people with monitors that match that aspect ratio to view your videos in fullscreen without black on all four sides of it.
the black bars are to resemble a cinematic look, usually also in movies as well
@@donovannsanders8187 movies are just in different aspect ratios. the black bar isn't what makes that cinematic look, it's the wider ratio. if you go to a theater you won't see black bars, you'll just see a wider screen.

@@donovannsanders8187 I understand that the point is for the effect, but they could easily achieve an equivalent effect for viewers with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a better effect for viewers with a wider aspect ratio. I see no reason why the black bars are necessary rather than simply changing the resolution/aspect ratio.
