      Exactly, it's important to try not take offense to the terms people use to describe commonly recommended fragrances on Tiktok or other social media. We live in the era of engagement bait, calling out very well received fragrances are simply a way to draw attention to videos. Enjoy your fragrances and don't let it wear you down.

    Pure facts. I’ve noticed TikTok has become a cesspool of people either pushing cheap colognes from their TikTok shop on their live or inflating the hype. I just stay clear of it because there are so many reviewers on there who you just know are lying to get the sales.

It smells like sweetened baby powder with a little bit of non-descript fruitiness. Nothing lactonic or strawberry about it. The frag community worldwide is very very small and majority of people in general just wear nothing OR a random body mist/body spray/deodorant. "NPC fragrance" is just snobbery and nonsense. I completely agree, absolutely right. I’m not a fan of TikTok perfume accounts that are pushing the false narratives…that a good perfume has to be super expensive or super unique( something never heard before ). You can like 1 million and you would probably be the only one in 20 people wearing that. (They need to understand that just because a perfume name is known, doesn’t mean everyone has it )
    They don’t really care about actually speaking the truth. All they care about is making that commission…which is sad because a lot of people put their trust in them to buy what is better.

They say it's like a sauvage elixer, but when it dried down, it had a completely different scent. So I prefer to try the actual fragrance and know if it bothers the others or not, and the most essential one is that I have to like it, not my partner or the girls in the street. I have to like it because it represents my character and true me, not what people want me to be.

    I would recommend going to Sephora or Macys to smell the fragrance you’re interested in and spraying it on your skin. It can smell completely different on paper than it does on your skin. If it’s a fragrance you cannot test in person I recommend buying samples to be play it safe.

    I'm a lot older than you at 46 and there was a time where I was able to smell JPG Le Male (the original) EVERYWHERE. It may not be everywhere like that now but it was. The only fragrance I smell everywhere is Spicebomb Extreme in the winter. But wear what you like and enjoy. That is always the key.

    In general I have these rules:
    Only buy if you tested the fragrance and really like it and dont buy out of hype.
    Only buy ones that blow your socks out of the water and really fit your style, or else you wont wear them.
    Especially with hyped nieche fragrances I often had the experience that I didnt enjoy them at all.
    Blind buying nieche is a fatal mistake you will only make once.

      Well said. My usual rule is always buy a 2ml decant. If I use it all, I buy a 5ml. If I still like it, it’s safe to get a bottle.

    • @element7448
      @element7448 5 месяцев назад

      @@giantarkvine27 Yeah definitely give it a wear once or twice at least before spending big bucks. You might not like how the fragrance changes over time or you might not get good longevity

    I totally agreee.
    I thought the same thing when it came to Dior Sauvage but i have not come across one person who wore it.
    The only one that I personally really enjoy but don't wear at all is Versace Eros because THAT is one i smell on everyone that lives in Bakersfield.
    I work in retail and it's the fragrance that sells the most in our store.

  • @pallemaniac

    Out of all the people I walk by every day I've recently only recognized 2 fragrances, Dior Sauvage and YSL Y.
    Like you say, most guys don't wear frags daily. Many probably have an old bottle of Eros, Only The Brave or Acqua di GIÒ to put on when going out "with the boys". 😁Nautica Voyage is a true crowd pleaser, it's in the top three of my most complimented fragrances.
    The other two being CDNIM EdP and Rochas Moustache EdP.

    i think fragrances are very hard to give reviews about because everyone has their preferences and everyones nose is different, and also how the fragrance works with each individuals skin. an example would be how I have Arabians Tonka by Montale and my friend smelled it and said it smells like 1 Million Parfum which I do not see the comparison at all. so TLDR everyones nose and skin chemistry is different
    but every point you make in this video is certainly valid.

    You should look into setting up a PP acct. A lot of reviewers do that to offset the cost of fragrances. The people who donate could possibly give you suggestions on what to buy and review.

    Actually true, even like sauvage (which too already labeled as 'most NPC fragrance' and have many clone with the same DNA on top of that) i barely smelt them in my everyday commute (only twice in june) in my country at least...

    The thing is that some fragrances smell different on some people. For example I bought lattafa qaed al fursan and on my skin it smelled like oud wood only, without any sweetness or whatever else, so I sold it to my friend on whom it smelled nice

  • @hanoh2904
    @hanoh2904 5 месяцев назад

    I don't see anything wrong with that as long as you watch a few reviews and check that you like the notes. I'm lucky to have stores that sell some of these perfumes but the blind buys I got were really nice

    Yo I see the fallacy in the 1 in 15 stat! People want to smell unique on special occasions like on a date or in a bar or in a meetup. I am sure in a lot of these cases people will put on a fragrance way more often than 1 in 15!! And in these occasions people want to smell unique :) but yeah true I also never smelt JPG Le male more than once a season haha

    It's good to get suggestions and information from the Internet, but as an individual you should always wear what YOU LIKE. It doesn't matter what someone else thinks.

    I couldn't agree more brother. I work in a store and have contact with hundreds of people daily and I haven't even once smelled someone wearing Dior Sauvage which everyone says is the biggest NPC fragrance and most used. Only a small percentage of people actually wear cologne so you will smell unique with whatever you wear.
