Exactly, it's important to try not take offense to the terms people use to describe commonly recommended fragrances on Tiktok or other social media. We live in the era of engagement bait, calling out very well received fragrances are simply a way to draw attention to videos. Enjoy your fragrances and don't let it wear you down.
Pure facts. I’ve noticed TikTok has become a cesspool of people either pushing cheap colognes from their TikTok shop on their live or inflating the hype. I just stay clear of it because there are so many reviewers on there who you just know are lying to get the sales.
IDK I honestly feel like there a lot of folks that have no taste, and all they've smelled was cheap crap/so they don't have an experienced palate to compare those "plastic masterpieces" to actual good designer fragrance. Most of the stuff is synthetic garbage
Listening to tiktok influencers makes you far more of an NPC than using a fragrance you enjoy even though there's a tiny chance that someone else might wear the same fragrance.
Agreed 100% It’s not just TikTok. Instagram and RUclips have the same issue with shills hyping up fragrances that aren’t worth it at all. And personally, the only reason I think they hate on Nautica Voyage is because it’s so cheap and they probably don’t get a lot of commission on it if any at all. Lol
This video is facts. I stopped watching and trusting tiktok frag influencers when a huge amount of them (including ones I thought were reliable) said that Yara smells like a strawberry milkshake. It smells like sweetened baby powder with a little bit of non-descript fruitiness. Nothing lactonic or strawberry about it. The frag community worldwide is very very small and majority of people in general just wear nothing OR a random body mist/body spray/deodorant. "NPC fragrance" is just snobbery and nonsense. This video is so real, thank you for uploading.
Honor & Glory and Khamrah are fantastic fragrances! I don't have TikTok and blindbuy them both few months ago.. both are really awesome and it has nothing to do with TikTok..
You’re right man, whenever I wear any of the ones you showcased, all my straight guy friends ALWAYS ask me “bro what are you wearing that smells bomb, never smelled that before” etc
This is not just a tiktok thing. RUclipsrs started the "everyone is wearing it" complaint. Everyone is wearing Sauvage, BDC, 1 Million, JPG, Aventus, Layton, Every Invictus, Y EDP, Nautica Voyage, etc.
Ive never smelt a single person ever wearing any of those in real life. I think the only time I smelt cologne on another man(which is rare) was versace eros
I used to smell a lot of Drakkar Noir 20 years ago but now there's so many different scents I rarely smell the same thing. Except Cloud. Cloud is absolutely ubiquitous.😂
This is a great outlook on life to have, not only about fragrances, but about life in general. When you stop caring what others think, you are truly free. Stay blessed my man. ❤
Tim, great video! I appreciated your honesty. As someone older, I completely agree with everything you said. You hit the nail on the head. Excellent job 🫡
Another thing people don't mention is that a lot of fragrances smell very similar in the air (not right up to your nose). like spicebomb extreme, most wanted, stronger w/ you etc. will just smell like something sweet or spicy in the air and not like how you perceive them.
You’re totally right dude. Everyone should wear whatever the hell they want regardless of popularity. I’ve made Paradise Garden my signature for the summer and I love it. Have never smelled it on anyone else before.
The thumbnail! Sheeeshhhh….its glowing up! Tbh. I think people not wanting to smell like can NPC can lead them into the niche fragrances. After a while it gets crazy expensive then you realize you can buy 5-8 Lattafa’s. Or even 2-3 designer fragrances depending where you buy. And then after a while you realize no one around you knows what the hell a niche fragrance is 😭
Its a coincidence that I just got these 2 fragrances a week ago (Khamrah and honor&glory), one for summer and other for winter. And I really like both of them. I have to agree that the dry down for h&g was a complete switch, but I enjoyed it even though it kinda turned into a warm winter fragrance lol. They are good blind buys if you fw woody aromatic smells. I have nothing bad to say about them.
A young man stand up and said: I am gonna spit facts. Thanks for you to call that out which responsible adults were not able to do. Tiktok influencers are literally the worst people on the world
Imo the best "angel's share" clone isn't kamrah but zimaya sharaf blend, you should try that one. The cinnamon on kamrah is too dominant and not enough boozyness. Sharaf blend has a perfect proportion and actually really close to angel share
You’re so correct!!! I for one love BR540, but it seems like every time I come across some fragrance channel I’m being told that everybody and their mother wears BR540, like you can’t even go to the supermarket without smelling it somewhere. I assure you that I have never -at least not consciously- smelled BR540 on the streets and thought to myself “there goes another one wearing that perfume”. And EVEN IF everybody would be wearing it, that didn’t mean it’s a bad perfume - if I like the scent, I will wear the damn perfume thank youuuu 😝
Funny how some fragrances gets called an NPC scent, but then again same "elitist" people wear same "items" like Vans, AF1, and other popular brands that you see left and right.
bro your so right i bought lattafa qaed al fursan and the dry down was horrible and it lasted me like 1 hour and it was gone. I also love a lot of fragrances people hate on like Paco Rabanne Phantom Parfum, and Bad Boy le Parfum both of those get so much hate and smell great. Buy what you want and what you like always
You should look into setting up a PP acct. A lot of reviewers do that to offset the cost of fragrances. The people who donate could possibly give you suggestions on what to buy and review.
I agree with you... Although, fragrances like Dior Sauvage and some others are over-used. You'll smell it on a ton of guys if you go out a lot. The main problem I see with fragrance tik-tokers is they think they know everything when all they have is designer and cloned fragrances and one or two niche IF NOT any. They'll give you a boring and basic recommendation like Bleu De Chanel or Eros.
I absolutely love this video!! I swear most of these weird niche fragrances that I see so many people suggesting on TikTok are so bad after I smelled them in store especially like tom ford stuff. I also love the fact you mentioned that only 1/15 men wear a fragrance, it doesn't even matter if you're wearing an 'npc' fragrance or not lol
I get lattafa asad, and I regret it after a while because I listened to TikTok influencers and never tried the actual fragrance. They say it's like a sauvage elixer, but when it dried down, it had a completely different scent. So I prefer to try the actual fragrance and know if it bothers the others or not, and the most essential one is that I have to like it, not my partner or the girls in the street. I have to like it because it represents my character and true me, not what people want me to be.
Always check out note breakdowns and reviews on fragrantica if you're not able to go sample somewhere to get a sense for the opening and dry downs if you're forced to blind buy
Exactly, obviously there are fragrances like dior sauvage, jpg le male and so on that will make for alot of people that do wear edp, edc and edt. Generally though not everyone uses fragrances and those that do might not even wear them daily, and those that dont wear them daily might actually only wear them to special occasions every once in a long while. So go and buy whatever smells good to you.
In my friend group, It was only me and another guy who wore fragrances. I actually got two of my other friends to start wearing fragrances. As much as influencers love saying certain fragrances are over worn, the amount of times that you are going to run into someone (in my experience) is very low. So if you like something, just wear it and don't be afraid of not being unique. Great points in the video bro 👍
Also i see you like bade al oud honor and glory you should try out the other ones in the line i love the purple one i think its bade al oud Amethyst that one is my favorite out of all of them and it gets me compliments
I get that feeling when trying honor and glory too. I was like where the hell is pineapple cake, it mostly woody with a bit of pineapple. Many people say its better with maceration so I hope its better overtime although I don't general believe in it.

Some good wisdom here. I’m preparing to buy Acqua Di Gio even though it’s the greatest selling men’s fragrance of all time. I smelled recently it and all of a sudden I like it. Even though this fragrance isn’t nostalgic for me like it is for others who grew up wearing it, and it’s massively popular, I’m not gonna let it stop me from buying and enjoying it.
The thing is that some fragrances smell different on some people. For example I bought lattafa qaed al fursan and on my skin it smelled like oud wood only, without any sweetness or whatever else, so I sold it to my friend on whom it smelled nice
I honestly don’t like voyage but at the same time I used it from about 11-22 years old I loved it when I was younger for a reason I was young with little money and it actually smells good for the price but now that I can afford something better I have not worn it since but I still keep a couple in my collection it’s a classic
Spot on bro. I bet many people (including me) buy affordable fragrance, especially dupes/inspired perfumes from a popular brand because some of us can't even afford to buy JPG or other very popular fragrances ranging over 50 or 100 bucks.😅😢😅
I would recommend going to Sephora or Macys to smell the fragrance you’re interested in and spraying it on your skin. It can smell completely different on paper than it does on your skin. If it’s a fragrance you cannot test in person I recommend buying samples to be play it safe.
So true! I don’t use TikTok, but a lot of people just review cologne from its opening fragrance, and I found almost everything that I’ve blind bought after the dry, smells entirely different than what they sold it as. Much less unique. I blind bought honor and glory and I ended up liking the smell, but I totally agree with you on what you said about it. Also what you said here applies to the whole of life. Don’t trust others at face value unless you have prior reason to trust them. Sometimes that’s a very hard lesson to learn. (Fragranatica comments are normally good honest reviews)

I keep a list scents I want to try in my phone and try them when I in the mall. Test my fav on skin then buy it online. I learned that just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’s for me. New Gucci Elixir is amazing!!! Last 10+ hrs and i gotten a ton of compliments from it.
I don't see anything wrong with that as long as you watch a few reviews and check that you like the notes. I'm lucky to have stores that sell some of these perfumes but the blind buys I got were really nice
Hey I appreciate this video your right thank you for helping people to not waste money and alot of girls don't like heavy cologne. I say this as a woman.
good vid, bot honor and glory is da bomb bro. sprayed it as soon as you called it out an hour later and I remember that I actually prefer the drydown lol. soo good but to each their own
i've been wearing fragrances since i was 17 and im 40. the good thing about fragrances is there's a lot of them out there. and the ones most people use tend to be new and trending. that's why i dont bother buying new launches but older ones cause not much people will be wearing them.
Thanks for the vid! I was really wanting to get Latafa khamara but I ended up getting 9pm and Hawas. People did say it was kinda Npc but this video really helped with not caring what people say. Also I did get The most wanted by Azaro so i think I’ll wait a little bit until I get Khamara just cause I don’t need too many sweet fragrances.
Straight facts man. My most complimented fragrance by a mile is a $30 Abercrombie from TJ max, not some super unique Tom ford or whatever. I only know like 3 people who are even into fragrance and it’s because I put them on in the first place
I'm a lot older than you at 46 and there was a time where I was able to smell JPG Le Male (the original) EVERYWHERE. It may not be everywhere like that now but it was. The only fragrance I smell everywhere is Spicebomb Extreme in the winter. But wear what you like and enjoy. That is always the key.
So true i don't understand the hate on Nautica voyage its not the best but it's really good. I dont know about performance if its more then 8 i would buy it but for example hayaati smells exactly like Invictus i smelled side by side 12h and good projection and still some people hate on it bruh
100% people dont wear fragrances daily but... when people go to the club then you will smell the familair jpg le male or ultra male or rabanne 1mil or sauvage but not def. not on every men far from that. the just buy what you think smells good even if ''everyone'' has it.
You are wiser than your years. I have worn cool water, joop nightflight nautica eternity, Boss No.1 kouros All the versace jeans line. Plus the original Versace L homme, fendi uomo quorum Ferragamo and more..... Many of these brands were pretty common back then especially cool water ADGio and Polo sport . Yet I probably caught a whiff of Cool Water just once on someone else. Also there was this one guy who wore Kouros all year long. That didn't stop me buying it and enjoying it.
Youre right bro! That's 100% true. Fragrances are something personal and every cologne have diffrent scent on different person. For example Xerjoff Erba Pura smells on me like 1milion Elixir without any diffrence. Soo guys be yourself and use what you like!

Earned my respect ✊🏽

Such an important video! I hope everyone that is scared of buying a fragrance because of tiktok gets too see this
Facts.
Also, "Go-tee-yay" would be a bit closer pronunciation, if you like, of course!
It depends where you are but yeah not many people wear colognes. If you want not basic smells do it for you not for others or because of others.
just wanted to say that i really like the way you talk
Youre right bro! That's 100% true. Fragrances are something personal and every cologne have diffrent scent on different person. For example Xerjoff Erba Pura smells on me like 1milion Elixir without any diffrence. Soo guys be yourself and use what you like!
They coming for you for speaking these facts bro stay safe.
