I find it hilarious that there are still pc bros that think they are the master race. Most of us pc players have less than a 1660, but they will go into the comments on a console game and act like they all have 4090s. It's sad.
My dad has got to be the oldest gamer in the world he is 79, former 20+ year WOW player. (His guild got pissed at his hearing loss and dementia) He used to program for the military and build pcs as a business and a hobby. He now plays Hogwarts all day it wasn't configured properly and kept overheating his 3070 I thin it was. I made him upgrade to a 4090. He bought his current system from a local customs shop and spent $6200 2 years ago. The only things in the family will are the cars and his gaming PCs.
Great channel! Tired of unrealistic, expensive PC builds? This channel focuses on practical machines for everyday users, ready to use out of the box. No fuss, just functionality.
So, I've come back to this video because 2 weeks ago. I didn't say anything of note. I made a review on their website but the Apex group has been very disappointing. I won a $1,000 PC giveaway last year and gave it away during a live stream for one of their PCs. I am an affiliate of them as well but there were a lot of issues with Apex Gaming PCs. When the winner of the giveaway went to order his PC in 2023, it took them almost 5 months to get his PC to him. They weren't helping nor were they willing to. The winner reached out in Email and didn't get an answer. Things escalated to Discord and even there, with a large number of staff in the chat, remained either rude or very much not willing to assist someone who was a new customer. The organization then goes further to stop using Discord, and rarely reaches out. I do own a PC myself and loved my experience and even when I had questions back in Feb. 2023, I got my PC in a reasonable 2 weeks (custom build). However, much like this video mentions, their prices fluctuate wildly. I paid 2,700+ for my Apex Xtreme rig. That same Rig is now on their site for 3,700. I get that the market in PCs moves but literally their prices jump every week and then they market it as a sale. As a user of the product. I have been asking my friends and fellow gamers lately to stay away from Apex Gaming PCs until they get their stuff together. And right now, they haven't managed to get their stuff together.
A friend had some extra money so i asked him to buy me a pc then ill pay him back. i found out he order from apex. i have a screen shot of the order #. so today the delayed it again its been 3 months so i called to cancel and i dont think they are canceling and im super pissed. i already paid the friend back so if they do cancel ill get my money back and just build my own. this was supposed to be my first pc
That's a complicated situation. You'd normally have the option of submitting a chargeback if it was paid for by credit card, but you'd have to have your friend give back what you paid him. Keep in mind, chargebacks can be contested if you accept delivery of anything from them.
I’m here because I’ve been scammed by them by being uninformed about pc parts I am partially to blame but they are taking advantage of people which is corrupt.
Honestly, I'm often surprised myself by the effect my little channel can have. I think it comes down to this: There are no other channels dedicated to the pre-built industry, at least not that I've seen. Some PC centric channels will review a pre-built now and then, but the vast majority of PC content is DIY. Going by yearly hardware sales, the majority of people are buying pre-builts. The imbalance in content doesn't make sense, but here we are. This led to my audience being almost all PC newbies who want to buy a pre-built, which makes sense. The effect is dramatic. Any video of mine that gets 5K views has far more viewers who are actually in the market for a pre-built than a review video published by like Gamers Nexus that gets 500K views. That's the conclusion I've come to, anyway. I wish there were more channels like mine tbh. It's a lot of responsibility for one channel. It bugs the hell out of me that Apex hasn't been called out before the three videos we've published. This industry needs more scrutiny.

Thank you for commenting this. Twice. On the only channel that exists to help those who "don't know anything about computers" find a pre-built PC that's right for them. In another comment, you mention Jayztwocents. Check episode 100 of this series and you'll see me interviewing him, with him saying pre-built PCs are fine. Actually, the same was said by Paul of Paul's Hardware, Pedro of PCMR, the list goes on. PCDIY is a niche hobby, albeit a large one. Still, roughly 1/4 of PC hardware sold per year goes to DIY, while the rest is pre-built sales. The actual percentages vary, but it's always heavily in favor of pre-builts. People *will* buy them. Instead of being dismissive and unhelpful, I decided to dedicate my entire YT career to helping them out even though I've been a hardcore PCDIY enthusiast for over 20 years. Besides, pre-built PCs are the number one gateway to PC gaming and yes, PCDIY. Most of us started with a pre-built...but many of us somehow forget that.

From there, let the buyer beware! BTW - I've become a fan of your videos over the past several months, and applaud you for your efforts in educating the Nerd Nexus out here! 😂😂😅😅😆
I’m looking at the Apex site now. Never really looked into this. The Apex Bronze product description says it comes standard with Ryzen 5 5600G and no dedicated GPU. Directly under that sentence it has a list of tech specs that includes. Ryzen 3 4100 CPU and Radeon 6500XT GPU. What the heck! Did not a single person review the website and it’s just 100% AI generated crap!
Maybe we should be thankful they're not that sharp. They've taken advantage of enough people as it is.
4000$ with 512GB storage and NOT a 4090? Ouch
My friend just bought her son a custom from apex $8000 and it worked for 12 hrs her son shut it down, went to bed and now it won't communicate with the monitors or keyboard. I've tried to get her to let me troubleshoot but her husband spent the day on reddit getting more confused and she is going to try and call them about it in Monday. Today is Saturday. Ive told her to demand a RMA and refund.
Great video!
Thanks! I hope I don't have to talk about them again...but we all know I probably will.
P.S. the BBB is a civilian business. They have absolutely ZERO power to make any company do ANYTHING. As long as a company pays their membership fees... they have a very good chance keeping an A rating.
Sending good vibes to the algorithms

Hay bro, every video I watch, reminds me of my Vo-tech college classes, in HVAC/R. I got a Bachler's degree. I also have a teaching degree in ASE automotive, at the High School level. I am learning 2 things, Compatible parts for outcomes, and that you will be a CEO, of a company building Computers. Thankyou, for the education, Sir !
Haha I don't think I'd want to do that tbh. If I do run my own PC company, the number of content creators that focus on pre-builts will go from one to zero.
Love your passion to protect Average Joe PC user. Great work.
Thanks!
Great work. Keep SI's on there toes

I've been seeing a lot of gamers (specifically in the Skyrim community) promoting their partnership and $250 promo codes with Apex Gaming pcs. Even after browsing their links something just didn't seem right to me. I'm glad I came across this video.
Was dumb and didn't do full research beforehand. Got a PC from them. Started getting WHEA crashes day 1. Will try to get a refund
I hope this gets out there but update for March 5th of 2024 there is a 4000 dollar apex xtreme with only one stick of ram on their website
Single Chanel ram in a $4k PC is criminal

I’m very happy my order wasn’t from apex lol I was really eyeing one
Exactly why I encourage shopping around 👍
Clicked on this video right away based on the thumbnail.
Your comment is genuinely appreciated! I wasn't sure about the thumbnail since it's so different compared to what I normally do.
@@braethorn it was lunch time and I didn't really feel like scrolling through my suggested videos to find something to watch. The thumbnail + the fact that I loosely follow your si weekly just made it a no brainer!
I had won a youtube giveaway for a $250 apex gaming pc giftcard, but after watching this video, I realize I will probably need to sell at a highly reduced price or I may need to cut my losses:/ Thanks for the psa, either way, $250 wouldn't even be enough to break into the price. You've earned a sub
Apex being shoved in your face 20/47 by random RUclipsrs is annoying. It’s good to know that someone said something about Apex.
New here. How does someone with only 32k subs have such pull?
Honestly, I'm often surprised myself by the effect my little channel can have. I think it comes down to this:
There are no other channels dedicated to the pre-built industry, at least not that I've seen.
@@braethorn Thanks for the well worded and complete response!! I think I speak for everyone when I say "we can see your passion on the subject!" I can also say the quality of your content is superb! It deserves WAYYYYYY more subs! My question was entirely complimentary to your channel. I have been working with computers since 1999 so I have a passion for PCs in general and not just from a gaming side as I am now a system admin for a medium sized company. I wish I had the talent for youtube lol!! Keep up the amazing work!!
Thanks, I was going the best buy way because of the bestbuy card but after seeing that, just going try and put money aside and get a gaming pc 1000 is my max
how come on their website they compare 3070s to 4080s like... who even... do they just want to put (134% better than 3070) in the spec sheet..... incase you were just looking at one of their "cheaper" previous gen machines... idk it doesn't matter
also that 134% stat they got is ripped incorrectly from user benchmark, as it is the overclocked compare, not the average lol
Agreed!
Omg, I just had a look and put together a Ryzen 5 7600x 4070 super build and they want 3421 dollars 😂😂😂 that same build here in the uk is around 1300 pounds
I can and could build my own. i prefer to let a company give me a decent pc and upgrade what i want(usually storage and maybe a vc if they dont have the selection i need) i hate configuring software mostly so id rather just buy another one and put my old hdd and ssds in the new one. althogh if this isnt my last pc and i get another i might build(im 54 now) because i love my LIan LI O11 XL and the swappable bays.
I am about to go to their site and have a good laugh tho.
wait waht?!!! 5800X 14% faster than 5500? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣i haven´t so much fun last time until now😅suddenly...5600 is only 2% lower than 5800X😂😂😂😂i building pcs some time but never put an 512gb ssd even 1tb i don´t like that boot drive should start at 2tb these days because even windows can be pretty space hungry and all will be prepared for implementing some ai sht to windows which will eat space i am sure btw they "testing" their cpus based on other channels playing some idk fortnite on these cpus but just guessing🤔oh and some issues i had...i always always as i started to build pcs everytime i using only FireCuda 530 SSDs but unfortunately it´s hard to get some above 512gb in my country and basically in country around or at least stores that i trust so i had to buy kc 3000 for my pc...not working! also i ordered i5 13400 i have A770 for primary use and wanted UHD 730 for web browsing and light stuff...movies whatever...and i got 13400F but on the box itself was 13400 like...Intel you don´t have any intel about what product you made? but i keep it for another pc i am not mad just...😮💨
Do NOT buy pre-builds, 'nough said! If you cannot build your own PC, get someone else to do it for you, but buy the parts yourself. It's not even that complicated.
homie didn't even last a minute 1:14
1:10 hahaha I knew at least one of you would show up. Didn't make it that far into the video, huh?
At LTX last year, I got interviews with the likes of Jayztwocents, Paul of Paul's Hardware, and even Pedro, the founder of PCMR, saying pre-builts are fine and they're a great gateway to DIY. Is there something you know that they don't? 🤣
"Don't buy a car, just build one yourself or have someone else build it for you!"
"Don't buy a house, just build one yourself or have someone else build it for you!" ➡️ Your logic right here
Ah, if only every man, woman, and child on the planet has the same level of technical expertise you have...
@@jmalLOL, oranges and apples mate. We are talking about pre-built computers here and not building rocket ships. But, you do you, you can build your own car if you wish.
You should build your own. My first one was a pre built but as time goes on things break and u will need to learn how to fix them. In doing so I simply watched how to build computers videos and they are step by step. Once you learn you will never buy pre built again. Its a waste and they are only for people who dont know anything about computers.
Telling newbie PC buyers to just build their own PC has the same energy as telling homeless people to just buy a house.
@@jmal Lmao you are seriously a joke If you think that is the samething. I know plenty of people that did it. the amount of step by step videos on how to do it plus pc part picker literally tells you if ur parts are compatible and what you need before you buy it. The fact that he liked your comment says soo much too. lol jesus the people in the world today. I really cant believe you just said that. I had to read it multiple times to make sure.
