    One of the best Gimp photography tutorials I've ever seen. Not only well shown and illustrated how to do something, but also why. It would be great if you could do a larger series on portrait editing in Gimp. It would also be great to see a "dramatic/contrast" B&W editing.

      Thank you very much for the kind compliments and supporting my RUclips channel! I'm glad that you found value in the video I made. Thanks for the suggestion on editing in GIMP as a series I do plan to put out more videos on GIMP so look forward to those. And I do have an image that would be perfect for a B+W edit.

    It's great that you made this video for GIMP. Everyone isn't using Creative Cloud/Photoshop. Clear video, you definitely don't want that fake look when doing skin retouching.

      @@TMIDD I mostly use Lightroom - but yes, some photoshop. Have a bunch of others too, Topaz, Luminar, PSP, etc - but I'm really not doing much editing.

    Thanks for the great tutorial. Just wondering if you're using a Wacom pen tablet, or a pen tablet of any kind, or just the mouse?

    • @TMIDD
      @TMIDD  2 года назад +1

      Yes I do have a wacom tablet but for this tutorial I used a mouse. The tablet is much more efficient!

    A little tip: the filter "Wavelet decompose" does exactly that, replacing the initial blur filter and layers operations, and you have even more control.

      Absolutely agree thanks for posting that here. I’m making a video on that method as well soon! Thanks 🙏🏽

    Great Video! How do you find this compares to photoshop for frequency seperation? Also have you used wavelet decompose? Thoughts? Thanks✌️

    • @TMIDD
      @TMIDD  Год назад

      I prefer photoshop just because of the flexibility but within GIMP I would say wavelet decompose is the best option for great results!

    Hi, new to your channel! Love your content. I work in Lightroom and was wondering if I followed your tips in this video how I would go about bringing it back into Lightroom? I started with a raw file and saved as tiff to bring into gimp and now trying to go back to Lightroom without quality loss. I would love to use both programs together.Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks✌️

      You may need to the drop down within each tool, sometimes they are embedded into one tool and when hover over the tool and right-click it shows more options.
