Smita ji I am truly in awe of your work. There isn’t a week when I don’t spend a couple of hours listening to your podcast. In America where I live you are shining a light on the law and order that exists in India. Hats off to you and your team. The variety of topics, depth of research, the tight editing and absence of advertising interruptions makes it an amazing experience!
I frequently go to the road where that munirka bus stop is... And everytime this incident haunts me even in broad daylight. Spent a large part of life in that area, and could never imagine any such thing could take place there. Hats off to Delhi Police for their quick response and sincere investigation.
IPS Chaaya Sharma is truly an inspiration to us. The clarity & focus with which we speaks and thinks is phenomenal. The original details of Nirbhaya case and her sharpness in keeping the case foolproof is outstanding. Thanks for this excellent podcast. Loved every minute of it.
Thanks a billion, Smita for bringing Ms. Chaya Sharma on your podcast. Hats off to her for being so strong, communicative, responsible, responsive and clear in her thoughts! We need more women like her in our force! Salutes to her!
So glad and thankful to Smita ji for getting Chhaya Ma’m for the podcast, I’m truly touched listening to her and knowing her. I sensed so much serendipity when she mentioned how she didn’t want to give UPSC, but for the sake of her father she did; and how she missed IAS to land into IPS. If not for these little junctures in her life, I wonder if the Nirbhaya case and the other lives that she’s touched, would have gotten justice the way they did because of her inputs and commitment. God bless you Chhaya Ma’m 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
A fascinating first hand explanation of how the inhuman perpetrators were identified and caught. It was a world class investigation involving world class techniques. It also pointed out the unreasonable expectations of the press, which habitually engages in sensationalising and at times involves in subversive reporting. Kudos to IPS Chhaya Sharma to put the press in its place. At times, the press ought to be told, shut up and listen. Be patient and don’t make unreasonable demands. That they will be informed when it is appropriate to do so. She is a STAR and a role model for others in the police force to follow. Bharat is so fortunate to have a dedicated officer like her. Unlike the police in Mumbai, who are an embarrassment and seem to have botched up the case of Sushant Singh.
Great podcast! Hats off to IPS Chhaya Sharma and her team for arresting the perpetrators in this case so quickly- she’s an inspiration to all. Smita- love your podcasts
Superb to hear it straight from IPS of South Delhi , Chhaya Mam . Kudos to Smrita ji for this podcast . We should make a Memorial for Nirbhaya in Delhi to give a strong message . Nari kabhi abla nhi hoti lekin Samaj abla ho sakta hai , Sarkar abla ho sakti hai .
This podcast actually cut the clutter around the case. Though all of us had read about the case there was lots of confusion of how actually the incident happened and role of the minor. Thanks to Madam from clearing things up
Very well explained. This shows how the IPS officer was in control of the case. Two great stalwarts. Ms.Smitha Prakash in journalism and Ms.Chaya Shrma, dedicated Police officer. Right questioned asked and I wish such crimes never repeates again anywhere in the world.
Another gripping podcast from Smitaji. Thank you very much for always presenting sessions on varied subjects with such well researched work to educate us. 🙏 May God bless you and the ANI team with more power to create such well meaning and educational contents. 🙏🙏🙏
The saddest part abtt this whole thing is that the main culprit got away with the minimal punishment considering him being few months less than 18. They should have his physical test to identify his age to punish that bästäârd bcz many PPL reduce their age in their IDs.
I came to know that the Muslim minor, who was actually responsible for inserting an iron rod because of which Nirbhaya died, did not get any punishment. In India rules are only for Hindus?
Another interesting podcast! 🫡 IPS Chaya Mam. Have watched Delhi Crime and thank the makers for bringing to light the hard work of the Delhi Police. Wish we had more like her in the Police force.
Fantastic episode. I'll be honest I was avoiding this topic. And it's fascinating they actually touched on how people avoid talking about this. I'm so so glad I took the plunge..... and in the process came out with mad respect for Chhayaji
This happened in 2012. Ram Singh hung himself. That juvenile got 3 years plus probation! Culprits were hung in 2020. 8 damn years, with extensive evidence. What did the Milords want?! For Nirbhaya herself to talk from afterlife?!
@who_is_this_person everything has a process and every evidence need to be cross examined 8 Saal to pher bhe jaldie hae itne bade population par judges kaise kam kar rahe yh wahe jante hae 21 judges over 1 million people hume judges ki jarurat hae courts ke jarurat hae tb jakar speedy Trial hoga
Smita Prakash - why did you finish the talk so soon…Great episode!Chaya Sharma all the best, please do write book(s) on your cases & experiences.👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
It was easy for me to connect every series of the investigation involved in solving the crime case because I have watched Delhi Crime Series, Thank you!
Very interesting/gripping conversation though painful to hear in some places - thank you Smitha for bringing this to us. Had a question - Is there a requirement for doctors to audio/video record victim statements when police is not present? The reason I'm asking is that some important descriptions could be missed (in translation so to say ) if the doctor just took notes?
Smitaji, I look forward to your podcasts. Varied topics, amazing guests and good insights. This episode specifically was heart rending due to the details talked about of the injury etc. But as u said it is imp to say these things, awakening of people is v imp. Hats off to you
I still become quiet when suddenly my thoughts takeove 💔 while driving on the street of delhi 😢 where this heinous crime was committed. I'm traumatized now delhi isn't same for me.
Hats off to Chhaya madam ji and Smitaji for bringing up this podcast. Instead of leaving it to God and wait till judgement day for perpetrators of crime, your team and entire machinery of law, medical and other functionaries like RTO , STF etc and of course the Media played a pivotal crime in solving the blind case. But still its a long way to go to annihilate as we have been noticing of spurt of such events across the country in its aftermath too although not of the same magnitude. One that happened in Telangana was also deftly handled by Police authorities.
much need podcast tysm mam.. pls interview the police inspector involved in nithari and arushi talwar case pls and try covering crime stories they are very fascinating
Smita can't thank you enough for this episode. Thanks to this mighty police officer. It was hard to listen at some point as it bought back sad memories. I live overseas and I know how then we indian migrants were looked down upon and the system. Nirbhaya had mission to change the system of this country and she did by giving up her on life. Smita could you also please share some info on how nurbhaya's friend doing now has he come put of the trauma and her family. Thank you once again.
Smita Ji, It was very good podcast but also please ask these people in authority, how to fix this broken system and how to make people accountable because if discuss ideas on this platform may be some one is listening for better.
Great Work , Chaya Sharma IPS , you and Your Team are an inspiration for the entire Human Civilization. No words to Praise you. Thanks Smitaji for this interview .
The almighty God has made special editions of humans like you.. and also your husband bcoz.. without this you couldn't have worked the way you did. I watched the DC series and would like to go and watch it again.. May God give you long life and good health.. and whenever you have to intervene in cases and situations even after your service..you be given that respect and liberty to give your guidance in cases of the dept. Bcoz PPL tend to lose the awe and respect you deserve for your lifetime❤❤🙏🙏
Tq for this podcast. The judiciary maybe the culprit in many cases. The judiciary takes up cases of bail cases, bulldozer cases on priority. Such heinous crimes are then pushed to the background. Loved the way IPS Chaya Sharma describe the incidents passionately and dispassionately. Also loved tge fact that the lady wears her mehendi without any guilt
Why media not take this case normally now specially chaaya mam who done everything very well everyone knows about each aspects of this case why are you grilling mam,s mind again and again.....love you mam you told earlier about all this matter of this case so I don't know why people grilling you again and again......jai hind mam .
Chhaya Maam your patience, integrity, devotion to duty, going beyond duty even, emotional intelligence and humility is exemplary. You are a super hero in all terms. Huge HUGE respect. Hope we all can be brave enough like you in our little ways in our mundane lives. Thank you ❤
Of course I appreciate the efficiency with which this case was solved. BUT - we ALL know how this case would have gone if same thing was done by rich guys.

Big respect maam for handling such cases. But actually until and unless the power blind planning and plotting complete family is not punished for such brutality against a female pushing her to intentional death , many many more such badddd incidences keep on happening.
Excellent podcast Smita ji. IPS Chhaya ma'am So proud of you. You are a treasure in the Indian Police services. I was holding back my tears during the entire podcast. God bless Nirbhaya's soul. Everything became so fresh in my memory. Thank you for bringing the rapists to justice.

''How would I look at Nirbhaya in her eyes?" - I had tears hearing this. I don't know why this case always tears me up and feels so personal.
😢
It was highly heineous and very very brutal for any girl to die such death.
Truth is , these people consider common people like you as worthless. They think themselves as elites.
@sapnak💯👌🤝🙏
Thanks a billion, Smita for bringing Ms. Chaya Sharma on your podcast. Hats off to her for being so strong, communicative, responsible, responsive and clear in her thoughts! We need more women like her in our force! Salutes to her!

Hats off Chaya Sharma Madam, her sense of judgement and thought process is amazing and inspiring. One of the best Podcast guest you have had Smita mam
My friend was deciding between Delhi and Mumbai and asked my dad. We’re from Tamil nadu. He told her to go anywhere except Delhi. This is why
Mumbai bhi kuch kam nhi hai
Chhaya mam still remembers all details so clearly! Hats Off! Thanks for the podcast.

and whole of India has to remove black car films which threated their privacy and security. No sympathy for either culprit or the victim.
Loved this podcast👏🏽👏🏽

After Abhaya case in Kolkata, Jt Commissioner Madam's words are so valuable for all including the police officers.
Excellent interview. Salute to this police officer
The sad part is not everybody wants to hear this but everyone should hear this

I enjoy and look forward to seeing your podcasts.
Thanks for always thinking about us living outside India and explaining the full forms of acronyms.
Here, I know of FBI, CIA but in India when DDLJ and K3G become household words, words go haywire.
Hearing the entire happening of Nirbhaya’s rape and death is quite chilling.
In school I had learnt that
man is a social animal. I didn’t understand then.
I do now.
Thanks again.

So much respect for Chaaya mam, from Jammu.
One important question and the need of the hour issue was missed according to me and that is, What is your opinion and experience related to false rape cases and what changes should we adopt?
Such an inspiration you are Chhaya ma'am. Officers like u bolster public faith into the institution of Police. Thank you for your services.
Chhaya's PR is full in comment section
Watching this episode in September 24, really feel proud of you Chhaya Ma'am. Really hope more good copes like you join forces. Also wish someone like you were there in force here at kolkata too, even after years of this nirbhaya case these heinous crimes happening till date.
In the case of Nirbhaya , the friend accompaniying her was the witness .But when the perpetrators of the crime do away with the witnesses as in the case of Sowjanya in (Sourh kanara ) what is the next step ? The person(puppeteer)!! is a Rajya Sabha Member and is a regular supplier of"suitcases" to the ruling party .
Poor victim dies in 15 days of crime… all ‘adult’ criminals were hanged in 2020- after nearly 8 years of crime, plenty of media houses making stories earned money and lawyers defending criminals got free coverage + government money. It shows how India is brewing criminals who can do heinous crimes like this and then have a celebrity life , free food and shelter from jail and an opportunity to start new life like that Juvenile… RIP indian judiciary system.. a big SHAME on you 😡👎
Add on to it Juvenile was of minority community and his identity was hidden , so that he is not socially ocastrated 😅

Commendable work IPS MAM....❤❤
Top Notch! Podcast
Fantastic podcast. Bravos to women power.
Thank you mam for this Video
And I respect your efforts and thanks to mam respected chaaya Sharma mam to work and how is doing her work as a loyal and honest officer.
But sorry to say you have forget to ask the recent case about sakshi 😔
It's also in delhi
She is a inspiration ⭐🔥
very sad to hear the incident again , may be crime committed in the bus would have reduced, but i dont think there is any dearth of criminals around, unfortunately even a simple ordinary guy could become a criminal instantaneously, thanks smita you are doing a great service
Wow terrific 👍
IPS Chhaya Sharma comes across as a determined and a very competent police officer who is capable of solving any case.
The crime can be deterred to some extent by implementation of law but will only cease to exist if criminals firmly start believing that there is no such thing as a perfect crime and every criminal act leaves some evidence that will ensure the law to catch up with you.
Very nice podcast
