    Doug Batchelor hits the nail on the head at 32:20 by saying that the 7 Trumpets have a future, final fulfillment. Sad that he has backed off of that interpretation since this was done in 2002.
    Regarding the feasts, he doesn't seem to understand that Jesus kept the feasts. Shouldn't we follow Jesus?

      Do you have any inspired words to back up your writing?

      ***** You need to repent of denigrating another person made in the image of God. Calling him/her "scorpion vain", and using inflammatory language such as "you & your ilk" and "creep" are more pleasing to Satan than any errors he/she is promoting.

    All the feasts are the Lords And all are Sabbaths, all point to the LORD Jesus and the final fulfillment will be at and after Jesus return. Jesus kept all the feast the Feast of lights as well. Passover also involves the unleavened feast, we are cleansed through Jesus the bread without. Sin!

    "You don't need to keep kissing the photograph when the person's right in front of you."
    That's a pretty good analogy. But is kissing the photograph sinful? There are many things that Jesus fulfills, does that mean that we cannot keep them today? Even though Jesus fulfills the Sabbath, we still keep our fathers Sabbath every week. Why not keep the feasts without the sacrifice of course?

      +statutesofthelord I think you're right... though a debatable issue, Matthew 5:17-19 is one testimony to us... as an Adventist I struggle in this area... I know Scripture is above SOP, but I think it appears SOP is anti-feast (though it is possible I have the wrong context; I urge all reading to investigate for themselves.)

    • @statutesofthelord
      @statutesofthelord 8 лет назад +1

      Matthew Agreed that there are some places in the SOP that appear to put down the feasts of the Lord, but there are some that are very much in favor of them.
      What seals it for me, is that Jesus kept them, and I want to be like him.
      Be like Jesus all day long
      In the home and in the throng
      Be like Jesus all day long
      I would be like Jesus (even on a feast day).

      statutesofthelord Right. What do you think of the Law as a whole? Do you think it's been "done away with?" or do you believe Jesus when He said He did not come to destroy the Law and the Prophets? (Matthew 5:17).

    • @statutesofthelord
      @statutesofthelord 8 лет назад +2

      Matthew I believe that what was done away with on the cross is exactly what was prophesied of in Daniel 9:27 - the sacrifices and oblations.

    • @matt15068
      @matt15068 8 лет назад +1

      Nothing more then? I believe Christ came to abolish a few things. He took our "bill of sin," and nailed that to His cross, taking the death penalty on our behalf. Oblation has ceased. I also believe Christ came to rebuke the traditions of the elders (adding to, and even diminishing from the commandments of God).
      This is what I think too.
      Also, can you quote SOP where it appears she is in favor of the feasts?

  • @franksmith9267
    @franksmith9267 8 лет назад +8

    Doug, thank you for this study; however, around 43:56 you stated in other words that the Law was nailed to the cross according to Colossians. That is incorrect for if you do a word study of HANDWRITING OF THE ORDINANCES you will see that this was not the LAW but A WRITTEN BILL OF THE TRANSGRESSION AGAINST THE ACCUSED. Today we would call it THE WARRANT or CHARGES. There are studies of this on the internet and in the various Bible Commentaries. The most important and useful thing that I have learned in my study of the bible in 44 or more years is the ability to say, "I WAS WRONG IN MY UNDERSTANDING OF THIS."

    All of these holidays point to Jesus.
    Jesus kept these holidays, disciples kept them.
    In Malachi " I am the Lord, I do not change" .
    The Sabbath is to be remembered and observed on weekly basis, the holidays on yearly basis.
    The Feist of trumpets is pointing to second coming.
    For everything God created, Satan made a counterfeit.
    God appointed holidays, the enemy counter fitted God s holidays for man - made holidays. .
    Christmas is based on pagan holiday and so is Easter.
    Careful study and God's wisdom is needed to discern the truth in the last days.
    Even the elect may not choose to follow the truth.
    Blessings to all.

    great quick overview. if u look deeper into the feasts, for instance sit down at a Passover seder with a Messianic congregation- Even the details point to Messiah Yeshua. the unleavened bread being broken, the name of the 3rd cup which was the cup Yeshua said was his blood...even unleavened bread is pierced and striped...the afokomin being resurrected after the meal... as far as keeping them today, some do things for God, and ppl shouldn't be judged either way...it's just so awesome how Yeshua is in them all! majority of Jews sit down and go through the Passover seders still, and I pray that they will see Yeshua right in front of them in all of it and be saved one day!

    you know a lot but yet not understand Scripture. Col.2 does not nail feasts to the cross, read the chapter in context, he nails man's dogma/lawless doctrines to the cross. 1 Cor 5:8
    Therefore let us keep the feast (Passover), not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

    To recognize what the feasts represented and teach that truth in our Messiah and preach His SOON coming is biblical. Not misunderstanding what has and has not been fulfilled and nailed to the cross. Careful and prayful study reveals this truth. We have a new covenant which is a continued covenant of the Torah, but don't forget what Jesus represents. A partial fulfillment of the OT scriptures. Soon coming to finish what He started. God Bless Doug Batchelor , rightly dividing in a sea of confusion. Do you keep feasts or teach what they fulfill or what they represented in the coming, near future. Fear God and worship Him who made the heaven, earth and sea and all that in them is! Then read some Nehemiah.

      +jamie Russell The judgements of the jewish ordinances (man made traditions) of how to eat drink and celebrate the holy days and Sabbaths were a shadow of things to come because that is only a minority of the persecution Christians will face, Jesus is the body of this persecution. The scripture has been taken out of context, we are now in the body of Christ and to suffer the persecution along with him is to be glorified with him on that day of Judgement. The Sabbath days are clearly separated from the holy days, with mention of new moons in between, I believe in Saturday worship but I don't believe this scripture is seen in the right context. The Sabbath hoy days are still seen as holy days as well so there was no need for Paul to separate them in the verse. Also earlier in the chapter Paul tells us these ordinances that Christ took up on the cross are against us meaning against Christians, if they were Sabbaths and holy days, why would he continue keeping them if they were against Christians? Specially with Pauls background the last thing he would've done is keep Jewish traditions that were nailed to the cross of Christ apparently. It is complete confusion, and our LORD is not the author of confusion Brother. Much love and blessings in Christ.

    • @RabbitholeIsrael
      @RabbitholeIsrael 8 лет назад +3

      Team Jesus the word for ordinances in colossians 2 are dogmas which always refers to man made beliefs/traditions. So Messiah took man made traditions out of the way. Paul still kept the feasts and Sabbaths and so did all the disciples and Messiah Yhushua, so why don't you? your suppose to follow in Messiahs footsteps 1John 2:6

    We can memorialize the Passover, for Yahshua was the sacrifice. But the feast of the unleavened bread could still be done and the first- fruits. Making the unleavened bread with your kids is really fun. Ask Yahweh for guidance in the name of his son and he will conduct you, he doesn't want us to fail. He loves you so feast days will work out if you ask The Lord and have faith, that's what I'm going to do. Peace to all.

Sabbath is kept by those of your faith and Israel keeps Shabbat, but also acknowledge the Feast Days. We are not to follow the ways of the World and there Pagan holidays. Israel does not keep certain Jewish days. Vernida Keys people need to take heed to what's being taught..
      Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
      Matthew:16:6
      Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
      Matthew:16:12

    • @mheinen
      @mheinen 7 лет назад +1

      leaven represents sin. leavened bread represents teachings, ways etc that might have some truth but also have other stuff mixed in.
      Jesus said do what the Pharisees Sadducees teach but don't do like they do- they tie up heavy loads onto others but don't lift a finger themselves. basically not practicing what they preached.
      keeping the feasts tho... those feasts are a shadow. its a great learning exercise. have you ever tried to remove all of the leaven and then keep all of the dos and donts of just the feast of unleavened bread? let me tell you, you'll realize real quick how much leaven is in your life, and it might open your eyes to see that Jesus is the only way to heaven. if you can see Jesus in the feasts and see how God laid out a picture of Him and His plan with all of the feasts... it's beautiful. our God is amazing. these feasts are like a teacher, just like the mosaic law is a teacher. they can open your eyes to what God did for mankind by coming as a man and conquering death.
      Paul himself says we shouldn't judge those who consider one day more holy than another. they do that for God. I also don't think we're supposed to hide light. whether or not people keep the feast... I don't know if that's what God's concerned with, but using the feasts to open the eyes of people to His awesomeness, his plan of salvation, our total inadequacies to be able to conquer death by being sinless on our own....to see Jesus and see God's amazing presence and plan from Adam forward in these shadows in the OT and their meaning and fulfillment in Jesus, I think the feasts are awesome eye openers.
      what does the Easter bunny or santa Claus open your eyes to?
      these feasts point to Jesus, God's love for mankind, his redemption plan. it's even in the details of the feasts. God didn't say on this day of the year gather eggs and you shall paint them pretty colors and you shall hide them and you shall make rabbits out of chocolate and eat them and know I am your God.
      think about it. the cadburry bunny is a money machine for businesses. just like the silver statues of Artemis were a money machine to the guys who made and sold them and came against Paul's preaching that Artemis was a worthless idol and God was the real God.

    • @mheinen
      @mheinen 7 лет назад

      condemning people for celebrating Jesus rising from the dead on Easter Sunday then hunting for eggs....that might not make them too conducive to receiving the beautiful truth painted in the feasts.
      I didn't always know this stuff. if some guy said look look at how Jesus is in all these feasts I'd be like whoa.
      if someone came yelling when the kids were hunting Easter eggs about how my going to church that morning then hunting Easter eggs was leavened bread and disposable, I'd be like what is this nutjob talking about unleavened bread...? what? get out of here crazy.
      you see what I mean? truth in love, not hate.

    The Feast Days Were Part of the Carnal Law.
    Hebrews 7:12 KJV - For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
    What law?
    Not the ten commandments as it states nothing in reference to a priesthood.
    Hebrews 7:11 KJV - If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
    The people received the ten commandments prior to the levitical priesthood being established so we know that the carnal law being referred to is not the one written by the finger of God.
    Hebrews 7:12For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
    Hebrews 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
    So the commandment being referred to is a carnal (fleshly, earthly) one not the spiritual one referred to in the following verse.
    Romans 7:14 KJV - For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
    Hebrews 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
    Hebrews 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
    Since we established that the Ten Commandments were not carnal (earthly, fleshly) and the carnal law was that which was given under the levitical priesthood we can now show that these ordinances under the levitical priesthood were carnal and instituted until the time of reformation would come and a change in priesthood.
    Here are the Ordinances under the Levitical Priesthood.
    Nehemiah 10:32 Also we made ORDINANCES for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;
    33 For the shewbread, and for the continual MEAT OFFERING, and for the continual burnt offering, of the SABBATHS, of the NEW MOONS, for the SET FEAST, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.
    2 chronicles 8:13 Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the SABBATHS, and on the NEW MOONS, and on the SOLEMN FEAST, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
    Hebrews 2:11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her FEAST DAYS, her NEW MOONS, and her SABBATHS, and all her SOLEMN FEAST.
    Exodus 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a FEAST by an ORDINANCE for ever.
    Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
    15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
    16 Let no man therefore judge you in MEAT, or in DRINK, or in respect of an HOLYDAY, or of the NEW MOON, or of the SABBATH DAYS:
    17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
    Leviticus 23:37 These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, everything upon his day.

      @@iguanapoolservice1461 according to men's interpretation of Hebrews they cannot see the harmony between the two.
      2 Chronicles 30:19 KJV - That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.
      Daniel 8:14 KJV - And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
      Hebrews 9:23 KJV - It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
      The purification or cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary is clearly biblical and Daniel 8:14 states the exact time in which this event would occur. End of 2300 days or day of atonements.

      @@Remnant144000 the problem with that doctrine is that the biik of hebrews says Jesus went into the most holy place right when He ascended to heaven. Don't forget egw did not come up with that doctrine. Atonement was completed at the cross. If the doctrine was biblical more scholars and believers would come up with the same conclusion. No one outside of the sda cult believes that doctrine

    Amos 5:21-23King James Version (KJV)
    21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
    22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
    23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.

    OOPS at 705! Sorry the earth does not rotate around the sun. Psalms 104:5 He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved.... Please research flat earth.

      Why would the Earth be flat when every other astrological planet and star in the known universe is spherical in nature!?! The toroidal fields and the magnetism they hold that surround every star and planet would never create a flat planet... Think about it... Study the word of God but please pray 1st and ask for wisdom. There is already too much deception being thrown out there!

      We can agree to disagree on things that are honestly imo not relevant to man's salvation. But my issue is that every truth we know has been changed by definition and by misinterpretations of certain verses in scripture. Exactly like how Christians find it difficult to believe that Sunday worship, by definition has changed the law of God. Why do Catholics and many other Christians ignore the Sabbath commandment? Oh the deception is so great when we truly search for God's wisdom.

    This guy says at 24:30, "We are to give our first of what we have to the Lord. We should not be giving Him our leftovers."
    Show me this expressly stated in the New Testament and I will send every bit of my check to this guy. The Law, much like these feasts, have been fulfilled. They are all gone! Here is proof that he is wrong. 10th not 1st.
    Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.

    last thing if these feast days are gone and done away with fine
    why are we not still taught about them and how to keep them and the meaning of it
    and how it points to salvation. Day of Atonement nobody has a clue what it was about.
    Is it because the Jews are the ones that keep it for many years.
    Or maybe it also is because of the Catholic Church getting rid of it as ordered in Council of Nicea.
    very very confused it really looks like we are picking and choosing like the Sunday Christians
    God Bless all and
    I Hope all will find Shabbat Shalom.
    These are very important words to anyone who keeps the Sabbath
    please look up .

    The Sabbath
    3 ‘Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.
    One more tid bit
    if these are not Gods days and they are only Jews holidays like presidents day how come line three his first feast day
    is the Sabbath day.
    Are we not being just like the Sunday Christians and picking and choosing if we don't obey Gods word.
    Ok lets just keep Gods first feast day and throw everything else out.

      I love the Law of God because it brings law and order to our world. Therefore, Paul rightly places the Law in its rightful position. In 1 Timothy 1:8, he writes that the law is not made for the righteous to live by but it is written to correct the wicked. The law is not the marching orders for the righteous. Here is the way heaven sees the righteous in Christ: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control." Here's the conclusion of living this life of Christ, "Against such things THERE IS NO LAW." If we remain in Christ and He remains in us, no amount of law keeping can gain God's favor of grace. Ephesians 8-9.
