This kid is going to be a stud in the league in a few years, you can see he still has a lot of work to do if he wants to be an all star in the big leagues. 2018-2019 the Celtics are going to be a very young hungry team!!
he can take the ball to the rim at will, in control and draw fouls almost everytime....special trait only superstars have..this guy is showing it early
Love that we can see todays skill set in him this early. Strength and reps improve the ability to finish, but the potential was recognizable from Day 1
+Mutey Ikuku You can't expect a guy to make a high percentage of contact lay ups? The point is if you don't foul him when he drives to the hoop he's going to make it. You have to foul him when he drives otherwise it's going in, but then when you foul he has chances at the line so either way he's coming away with points.
As he gets stronger and the game slows down though he should start to make a few more contacts lay ups for chances at the 3 point play. But again finishing through the foul isn't expected as it isn't a routine play and I've only really seen LeBron do it at a somewhat high percentage
+Quincy Hendrix idc LMAO brightest future. At least they are in a real division. The West would DESTROY LBJ. No sorry ass team in the east especially the Celtics have a shot against the Cavs
John McBrearty in my opinion I feel like the Pacers have the best shot. They made some interesting moves this off season. They acquired Jeff Teague, Thad Young, and got Big Al. What team do you think has a shot at the Cavs in the East?
Celtics almost have all the pieces in place. I'm expecting a strong season and then a push into the playoffs next year. It all depends on how Brown and the team's chemistry develops. He has a high ceiling and already seems to know how to flow through a defense as a slasher no matter the level. If he can improve his finishing around the basket, after contact, he will be a force. He's already a strong defender and seems to have a consistent midrange jumper.
we all criticizes him for not having a jumpshot that is consistent. People said that about mj, people said that about kawhi, hell they even said it about harden. What do people not understand about basketball players. You can develop a jumpshot you can't develop the atheliticism that these players have.
I'm a celtics fan and I was actually hype asf when we signed him I knew about how athletic he was and how underrated his shot is. He has the strength to finish around the rim, he just needs to build the skill and experience, because like that commentator said, he was relatively unchallenged at the rim in college because of the athletic monster he is. Reminds me of Grant Hill or a young VC.
I know it's early, but I think this draft could produce at least three future Cetlics that play major roles in the coming seasons. Jaylen Brown, while raw, seems like the real deal and if his shot comes around he could end up being close to a superstar. Yabusele was a nice surprise in summer league and with a season or two overseas I could see him becoming a really good PF. Also, I think that at least one of Bentil, Jackson, or Nader develops into a solid bench player (personally my money is on Nader). I haven't seen enough of Ante Zizic to comment on him.
He should develop well, and he'll be good defense off the bench until he matures. Also Jae Crowder will be a good mentor for Jaylen even though I think he'll surpass him offensively in 2 or 3 seasons
Improved a lot since, 24ppg scorer , had troubles with his knees for 2 consecutive years kind of worries celtics fans, he's no longee dunking like this but footwork and shot making improved a lot
Celtics pls dont trade him or any of our top picks.. whatever u trade for wont beat gs so why do it. brown will be a allstar same with our next yr top pick as well
Agreed imagine smart rozier brown crowder in a few years. Sprinkle in our Brooklyn picks and maybe another solid free agent pick up and we are pretty loaded especially on d.
ya next years Nets pick Celtics have and have their eye on a beast playing at Kansas name Josh Jackson and another name Harry Giles Celtics are gonna be a Juggernaut
There is a big difference between having an "nba ready" body and an "nba ready" game. JB has the body and athleticism. The hope is that his skills will catch up with that, and sooner rather than later. He's already shown flashes of what that could look like, but until he gets the coaching, practice, training and in game experience it's pretty much a 50/50 crapshoot as to whether it will pan out. As a Celtics fan I wasn't nearly as upset with the pick as a lot of fans were, but will admit that at this point (VERY early) Dunn looks ahead of JB. We'll see how things look in 3 years though. The good news is that with Crowder signed the C's can take their time with Brown. When Crowder's contract is up, Brown will be going into his 5th year in the league.
Damn he's aggressive on the drive. It's also nice that he drives all the way and doesn't do the little midrange jumper stop nonsense. Getting fouled is money in the bank. Once he gets a little stronger he'll be finishing more. He needs to get a little smarter since he's used to muscling people but he's intelligent so I think that will happen. I think he'll get like low 20 minutes a game since he's different enough to Crowder.
Kids got some real potential you never know but I really like his build, motor and athleticism. At worst he's a defensive minded wing with size and strength. At best I really believe he has pg13 or kawai potential. Of course that won't be for a good 5 years so we'll see.
At first I was pretty against the celtics taking jaylen brown, but watching him play is very exciting. He's a very raw and prospect, but he's tons of potential and tremendous attributes you can work with. He's also in a great position where it can work, I think he can be really good. I think his ceiling is james harden
I honestly think he has the potential to be a better player than him he has the ability to be first team all defense while being able to score and draw fouls constantly
Sincewhen53 No he'll become the scorer he is currently, James Harden scores three different ways as far as getting to basket, splashing threes, and cross niggas over and he's elite in all of those categories. I do think he'll be a much better defender than he is
If celtics wanna beat the cavs (only to lose to the warriors) hopefully he can be promising and maybe become a star. Gotta wait until he gets some regular season play time though to know,
people think this doesn't work but tbh it dies really well. brown is a high risk high reward player so going to a already playoff ready team really makes things easier for him
His style of play is a lot like Wiggins. Slasher with those spin moves, engages contact. Harden comp? not really.. besides going to the line & it harden without the flops & handles.
super strong and athletic . when he gets more disciplined he is going to be a beast defensively. But does this guy pass? Can he consistently make the right play 3 years from now? I feel he has a long way to go with is IQ. Misses wide open guys , barrels in to defenders. He ain't getting them calls in the regular season! He won't be bailed out that easily! Has to have a more consistent fluidity in his jumpshot. Looks like he's prone to bad shots/ bad shot decision making. The total upside: brad stevens is his coach and he has established scorers and play makers around him that he won't be asked at this point in his career to carry the scoring load and have the ball in his hands as much. Let's see what happens
Jaylen Brown floor-Jimmy Butler Jaylen Brown realistic ceiling- rich man's Jimmy Butler Jaylen Brown complete ceiling if he works really hard on his offensive game- more aggesive scoring verison of Kawhi Leoard
+Thomas Cho yeah and do you know where he was picked in the draft. He was not even that good coming out of college. You can't just say"nah he won't be that good", before they ever even play. You can't have Michael Jordan coming out of college with people comparing him dr.J and say " Nah he won't be that good". Because the draft is a crapshoot and you can't get access to a player's mentality and will. Jaylen brown and hield have the hardest work ethics in the draft and he does remind me a little of early kawhi. Kobe was the 13 th pick Draymond green was a second round pick. Isaiah Thomas was last. You just never know.
It's a highlights video and I didn't see enough of them and quality not great. With a highlight vid. they leave out 95% of his play which was likely poor. He looks small, weak and clumsy.
the real highlights are only 2min long..the rest of the 5min is him getting foul calls..the video is weak.. as far as Brown as a player I don't think he's that good.. put me down for zero all star appearances.. won't even get close
4 years later and he’s an all star 💪🏾
8 years later he a champ and finals mvp
2024 Finals MVP
This kid is going to be a stud in the league in a few years, you can see he still has a lot of work to do if he wants to be an all star in the big leagues. 2018-2019 the Celtics are going to be a very young hungry team!!
Simmons acting like he's hurt kills me every time😂
+King Hang Wong L
Black Goku
he can take the ball to the rim at will, in control and draw fouls almost everytime....special trait only superstars have..this guy is showing it early
when this man becomes the all star of our squad along with the other future stars don't hop on the damn wagon like in golden state #weontherise

Predicted the future
Love that we can see todays skill set in him this early. Strength and reps improve the ability to finish, but the potential was recognizable from Day 1
look at how much he's improved since then...
Best driver and finisher in the draft. Don't sleep on JB
He didn't finish any of those contact lay ups now did he?
+Mutey Ikuku You can't expect a guy to make a high percentage of contact lay ups? The point is if you don't foul him when he drives to the hoop he's going to make it. +Chandler Raines I expect lebron to
+Chandler Raines well James Hardens plays most of his offense by getting to the line
He reminds Me Of Demar Derozan, Both Athletic asf coming into the League and Both Are Slasher's, who develop a Better jump shot over time
+MG15comps L

I was just thinking He reminds me of Derozan and harden with all those fouls he draws
+Ritvikulous Swag same was thinking harden because the fouls
+BIG YOGI wtf
I like this kid hes a flat out stud #StayMe7o
Facts
yes.
who's me 70
LMAO he is raw as fuck, worse than Wiggins when you hated him. He will never reach half of his potential
+Khassad Fulla-kay me70=melo
Once he gets that jumper down, he will be an all-star by his 22nd birthday!
You were spot on
Now he’s an NBA Champion and finals MVP
Did anyone else hear, "Chris Brown racks it up," at 6:50?
Yeah I was dieing
He's game ready...
He looks NBA ready.
hell nah, he raw as hell. He needs 4 years to be a good player. Boston should of picked Kris Dunn LOL I'm so glad he dropped to my Wolves though
+Quincy Hendrix idc LMAO brightest future. At least they are in a real division. The West would DESTROY LBJ. No sorry ass team in the east especially the Celtics have a shot against the Cavs
you aren't wrong, but what team in the east is better equipped than the Celtics to be the best once LeBron is too old
John McBrearty in my opinion I feel like the Pacers have the best shot.
Brown slamming it at 1:37 sounds like some anime character im dead😂😂😂
He gets to the line at an elite level.

He has the strength to finish around the rim, he just needs to build the skill and experience, because like that commentator said, he was relatively unchallenged at the rim in college because of the athletic monster he is. Reminds me of Grant Hill or a young VC.
He's on his way now to be a Superstar.
Worked out for him
This kid more athletic than Simmons and Ingram combined smh...
Doesn't matter when you can't consistently score and can't stop turning the ball over
+Paper1Planes That's a description of Simmons just as much as it is Brown.
And nothing else
More explosive
+TV Jumper Not to mention those kicks are huge Ls
Nigga is this brown or harden

Brown is actually good at defense.
I know it's early, but I think this draft could produce at least three future Cetlics that play major roles in the coming seasons. James Harden, Jason Richardson & Andrew Wiggins all wrapped in one.
Wiggins? He wishes he was JB now 😂
@@jjack3186 I said Brown would be greatness
This class is special not one top ten player disappointed me 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Proud of him
I didn't know Chris Brown played in the NBA lol @6:50
I went back a few times to check if he really just said that....apparently I'm not the only one who heard it lol
remember when all the celtics were crying when they picked him...
They weren't booing him, they were booing the fact no trade had been made. Real celtics fans, such as I, cheered.
as a celtics fans i was ecstatic. really any pick ainge would make with that 3rd overall spot would make me happy. hes great when it comes to drafts
Those people are just fair weather fans. No actual supporter I know was mad, in fact we all wanted Jaylen
ill b honest i wanted to take buddy with our pick but brown was neck to neck with him because he was my fav player in college.
yea i felt the same actually but i'm glad we got brown because buddy hasn't been playing well
He should develop well, and he'll be good defense off the bench until he matures. Also Jae Crowder will be a good mentor for Jaylen even though I think he'll surpass him offensively in 2 or 3 seasons
W
Celtics on the rise I like the core players there building
He gone be like Kwahi Leneord
A more aggressive scoring version of Kawhi Leonard.
If he played for pop, although I don't doubt in Brad Stevens and to make him into an Elite player
@@Michael-sh5ft huh
top 20 player in 3-5 years.

he's definitely been watching t mac and kobe forsure
Who’s here after the Bronny comment ?
Jaylen Mr.Fouls Brown

He could have so many and 1's If he learns how to finish contact lay ups
He can now
Already All NBA
JB7 thats going to be his nickname when he becomes an All Star in this League
Hopefully he isn't a waste of money for my Celtics, like James Young is. He seems to have the ability to make an immediate impact.
He's basically Andrew Wiggins
Facts
With more competitive fire, maturity mentally, and better defense
+Elias Ortega better defense ? 😂
lol have you seen him play defense?
+VicG yes Andrew Wiggins is a great defender

The potential is sure there, but it always worries me when "highlights" = a bunch of strong drives that end in missed layups.

Kawhi Leanord
bro needs to improve at finishing at the rim at the whistle
james harden is my best comparison
All of his highlights are him getting fouled
He models his games after James Harden

bruh should have been num 2
Why is Jaylen Brown considered better than Marquese Chriss? Chriss is a better athlete and shooter. Only thing he got going for him is defense.
who told you chriss could shoot a basketball?
It's summer league. Let him go through a full season first before you start hyping him.

Drawing fouls is essential in basketball sir
+DH but you don't put that into highlights, I mean who wanna watch him getting fouls....
