hi Steve, what a great tutorial! And how elegant and simple you have explained the note theory.
you are such a talented teacher! many many thanks for the great job you do!
Steve, first time I have seen you. Amazing stuff. Learnt more in 15 minutes than in 10 years. You are a natural teacher
Well I just watched this tutorial and I can now do a little solo in A. I'm a slow learner but it's all about the teacher in my opinion. Thank you very much from Scotland.
Ditto here my brother from another mother. I am 70 period. I started fiddling with guitar when I was 10. I was blessed enough to have my parents hook me up with private guitar lessons. As I recall I was on theory overload and barely learned to play Silent Night Holy Night, notes only. I tried, but not very hard to pick up a guitar in the ensuing years several times. This occurred before the internet existed. Then about 7 years ago I discovered Steve Stine on RUclips and was blown away by how successfully he was able to translate his very high level of knowledge and skill into guitar skill acquisition by the layman. About 4 years ago I blew up each of my shoulders individually over about a 2 year period. After that I really began to dig in. Then a year and a half ago I required left wrist surgery. That set me back considerably. 6 Months ago I had the same surgery on my right and due to the methdology perused in the surgery I am just now recovering from the right hand surgery. All the while that I really could not play much at all I have watched and listened to Steve. This cat is a beautiful human being and one hell of a guitar teacher. Stick with him, is the best advice that I can give you. He is Peerless!
Steve stine is a very very good guitar teacher this
Lesson was inspiring and he makes a sensible approach to learning the fretboard I’m 63 and found his teaching really motivational thanks Steve great stuff
Steve you are an awesome teacher breaking it all down to bite size pieces. I'm a BIG fan! Thanks.
God Bless you more then ever before
Thank You so so much I love this lesson
I have all most all his courses and it has elevated my playing to levels i never expected ,start with one and you'll be sold how awesome of a teacher he is and how easy it come to you !!!
Pr Stines. I'm french and i follow your guitars lessons since many years now. I can't understand 100% of your words but maybe 75. It' s not a problem because you show what you say on your guitars (what a crazy collection of beauties). You're for me the best teacher on line and i can't now follow the lesson on a random guy for 50 $. I made some progress with you it was unimaginable to me several years ago to imagime i was able to start a solo just like this, and blues too. It's absolutely the results of your talent Mr Stine. You're litteraly the teacher who every musician want to have.
So a big thank you for your help, your patience to continue your videos with this rythm and this serious. You are sure made some of the future greatest shredders. Thx again Pr.
Salut de France. Marko
You go above and beyond. Well done.
Thanks Steve. I knew the key of A but I didn't know the root. This will help immensely.
That was awesome Steve, thank you, I learned a lot and love the 6 note exercise
This is so helpful. Thank you.
This is very informative. Thank you!
Nice one. Thanks for sharing.
Always get something after watch your content
I do love that guitar! Natural is beautiful
Thanks for the video.
Amazing lesson, but what do you do if you run into a minor chord?
LOVE this!
I have struggled for years trying to wrap my head around the theory of soloing.
You are the first to explain in a way that really sinks in.
Thank you!
Thanks Steve for your free expertise and giving all of us an easier way to get to our common goals to play guitar from an old grumpy Vet that has just started to learn to play with the help of G4V again thank you and keep Rocking those bad $#& guitars 🤟
Just a random comment: If I wanna learn a specific solo, I just get the solo I want, hopefully somebody has separated the lead guitar part already on youtube, and slow it down on my computer and then learn it like a few seconds at a time. I used to use tabs back in the 80s and they were a nightmare. I can't believe how many songs I was playing wrong by using guitar magazine tabs. Now I do it all by ear and try to watch the artist play the solo in a video or live concert so I know what area on the guitar they're in.
TY you brought clarity to this mystery.. I really appreciate it TY!! So quick question does this work from the high E coming back up?
Excellent. I'm excited to try this technique but I'm stuck on a question (others have alluded to): If you use the Am position (5th fret) as you've shown, your not playing the notes of an A (major) - you're playing the notes of a C (major). Wouldn't you go to it's relative minor (F#) and play the 6 notes there using the same technique (B, C#, E, F#, A, B)?
Hi, is it possible to make an example how it can soun over backing track?
love this i am now a member of his guitar zoom
Thank you for joining us, glad to have you on board!
Hey Steve have not seen You for a bit hope all is well. I was interested in the solo thing . I have memorized the notes pretty much .
Hi Steve. What if it's in the minor chords? Does that 6 notes apply and where do you place it? Thanks for all your tutorial videos. God bless you!
If this is in key of A, but the notes are not all in A. ?
❤
Watch the return of Steve Stine in my "The Best Bass / 6string guitars, player".

Chat
Minor...?sir...
Im just a little bit disappointed your now saying root instead of rut.
That’s the first thing I noticed! It threw me off so badly that I had to restart the video.
Oh stop being so darn nitpicky.
I can’t stand someone misusing the word literally. Unapologetically. It’s so sad because he seems cool.
You should probably discuss this with your psychiatrist on your next visit.
Up you watch a 15 minute video on guitar lessons and the use of the word literally is your focus? You’ve got a lonely life ahead of you
