I see what it is now. Toriyama makes his art look more mature. Toyotaro's art style has an innocence to it. Almost child like. Goku looks more like Goten of the Buu saga in Toyotaro's style.
toriyama will always have that classic feel. toyotaru definitely does a good job putting his own style in it. toriyamas goku just feels older, more mature
Why is Goku just such a Comfort Character to me. Man looks like he's so gentle but at the same time able to flick your head off into the sunset.

It’s annoying to see so many people in here slandering Toyotaro when he actually derived his style from where Toriyama’s evolved. Toriyama doesn’t draw like this anymore. His designs are a lot more slim and less muscle definition. Toyo put both of these styles together and I for one, think it looks great.

Finally someone who actually knows what they're talking about, Yamas art style has definitely changed, and imo I'd say for the worst... but at least we can always look back at what used to be his prime
Idk here the pose is less dynamic and stiff compared to Akira. I thought Akira's coloring were harsh, but nvm, Toyotaru is even worse (especially the face).

It looks like shit cause of how odd the anatomy looks . Considering he did WAY better art for a Fan-series that he made, AF, it's depressing that he has turned out to be worse than majority of fan artists that drew for the fucking Multiverse series.
And his use of panels is horrible. He clutters the page so disgustingly to the point it's a headache to even read. With the overuse of Greytones that manga couldn;t be any worse off.
Toyotaro isn't good, he could be, but he isn't anymore.
It's too angular, he isn;'t deriving much, if anyhting, anymore. And his fight scenes leave something to be STRONGLY desired. Moro vs Goku UI was eh. Goku vs Jiren was even more... eh.
Super should have been shelved to allow more chances for Toyotaro to breathe and create. To return to HIS prime when he did better during his AF Days. Sure it still had that angular look he is shitting out now, but back then it didn't look as grotesque.
Oh well, I'd say Fenyo_n should have been the illustrator for the Manga.
I think i really just like the way gokus eyes look from the left vs the right. Nice art!
Regardless of which is better, can we just take a little bit of time to appreciate the mad skills this person has to replicate both art styles? Seriously mad kudos to you mate!

He's literally using reference pictures.. it's not like he did this from memory. Also, this is more the end of Z the anime, not the manga, with corrections leaning heavily on Yamamuro's work for the anime, not Toriyama's.

Real good shit. Personally I think both artstyles have something to offer, I like the slightly modernized Goku by Toyotaro, but Toriyama has that kind of edge that only the OG version can give.

Goku on the left looks tired but accomplished. You can tell Goku went through a harsh battle. Goku manages to edge out over Buu after exerting all he can do, and still smile. He feels lucky to have won.
The Goku on the right looks a bit cocky and playful. It doesn't look like he took the battle seriously. Skin looks smooth and soft. The expression on his face makes it seem like it was no big deal... almost like a joke. JUST IMO

That's actually not the way Akira drew Goku. That's more in the style of Yamamuro. To get Akira's style you need to base it of the manga only.

Toriyama will always be the best, especially that super nostalgic face. However, Toyotaro’s work is more logical as he uses his right hand and Goku Isn’t a lefty. It’s such a shame that Goku didn’t go shirtless during the Majin Buu arc.
