I wonder if the various levels of oxidizing and green have come from a “hard wither”? I’ve seen tea like this is Hawaii a few times when the leaves got Sun withered to almost dry while they were loosely scattered. Some leaves stayed very vibrant green while the leaves that touched or were piled on other leaves got more oxidized. So interesting!

Yes, that an option. The different oxidation level can also come from piling. Leaves under other leaves see less sunlight and slower drying. We will never know for sure but, oxidation aside, the tea just tastes so good to me.
