Watching you struggle with this, I kept hearing Nedry say "Ah Ah Ah!"
Wow these really were terrible, thank you for your service
At 19.20 the Dilophosaurus/ Spitter is called the "meat-o-saurus"! Great video, as a kid I'd have loved/hated the JP kit.
I really dig the emulation epilogue, Steve, cool idea! It'd be neat to see this with other software in the future, it'll help with familiarization before making the leap into hardware itself
I had some of those, they're just as jank as I remember! I had hours of "fun" with those back in the day. Right up there with the old Trolls MSDOS games I got at the dollar store. Honestly, I think Colorforms missed the bus on this. They were huge when I was a kid, the owner said something to the effect of "Who wants to play with pictures on a screen?" and now, they're extinct. What a missed opportunity, that's basically what these disks were. Also, iirc I had a Gremlins one that said "Transformers" in the about page. Also wonder if they were licensed at all, frankly. They seemed very "Ali Express" like, as in searching for Transformers will get you 30 toys made by Hasbro, and 300 pages of random KO stuff.
I really enjoyed this. I enjoyed the presentation more than the software itself. Nice job Steve.
One of my favourite videos you’ve ever made!
I remember making so much “art” as a kid with these programs
👍
I would have flipped that fireball horizontally and put it coming out of Blanca's behind...
